This review is way overdue! I've seen Jasmine twice now for a full balayage on my sister locs. My most recent service was in May of this year with my previous appt being 2yrs prior for the same service. The appt was to bring the balayage up to my roots. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Jasmine is not only personable but she is professional and knowledgeable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] With sister locs you have to be VERY careful because they can dry out easily. In the two times I've had my hair color it's included bleach and I've never lost a loc. I think that speaks volumes to the quality and care Jasmine puts into her craft. The energy in the shop is up beat and funky and makes you feel at home. There's lots of street parking and food options around if you want to do Uber eats or take a quick walk to grab something. At the start of the pandemic I was temporarily laid off from my job but already had colored hair. I asked Jasmine if she could only bleach my hair so I could save money by coloring my hair myself. She said it would still be expensive if I did that and recommended I search elsewhere. I told her I didn't trust just anyone to bleach my hair from brown to almost-white, so I asked her if she had any recommendations. She said "Sure, I suggest Googling cheapest salons in DC. I have been attempting to get a blond balayage for about 2-3 years that actually comes out as it looks in the picture I show for reference. I was very fortunate to snag an appointment within three days of requesting one. In one session Jasmine took my hair to the moon and back!! Jasmine is magic! I found Jasmine after my roommate had been going to her for her balayage and kept telling me how amazing she is. I'm always scared to try new stylists (I've considered flying back home for my old stylist before!) but Jasmine is 1000% worth it. The first time I saw her, she touched up my highlights and did an amazing job. She made me pull up the exact color I was looking for and made sure I thought it was perfect. I decided to take a chance and dye my hair rose gold for the fall and knew I would be in good hands with Jasmine. I was so nervous before going because I've never dyed my hair anything but blonde before, and she answered all my questions over email beforehand. She stayed extra late on a Saturday to make sure each step of the process was perfect and gave me the exact color I was looking for and more. I would follow Jasmine to the ends of the earth! Seriously, she's amazing at what she does. I've been living in DC for about three years now; at first, I bounced around a few different stylists at one salon because I wasn't quite happy with the cut. I have a long bob situation going on, so it's tough to get the right balance of layering and length that looks good right away and also grows out nicely over a few weeks. After Jasmine cut my hair once, it was perfect, and I've never had any one else cut my hair since! I am originally from LA and have been living in DC for about 3 years now. I hadn't found anyone I really felt liked to do my hair. Until, I found Jasmine on Yelp. After I saw her yelp page. I quickly went to search for her on Instagram hoping there would be more photos and proof of her work. The photos I saw on Instagram convinced me to schedule a consultation. So, I did. I showed Jasmine what I had in mind and she set up an appointment. I emailed her photos showed her bangs, hairstyles and color. On the day of my appointment, I arrived a little late and Jasmine was gracious about it. I sat in her chair and we talked about what I was looking for. I wanted to dye my hair black but Jasmine advised me to not go with a permanent dye that could not be reversed so she "glazed" my hair and added a few balayage pieces. I cut a few inches off of my hair and she cut bangs. I spent about 5 or 6 hours with Jasmine (that's a lot for a first visit) but I had a great time and really loved the environment she created in her salon space. She is professional with a really big and fun personality. She even let me pick the music for during my visit and hooked it up with a phone charger. I'll be honest. I wasn't entirely sure how I felt until the next day. I LOVED it. I was able to style my hair and felt like a whole new person. I got a TON of compliments. I will definitely be returning to Jasmine and am soo happy I found someone reliable to do my hair in DC! read more

She is the only person I am comfortable with to sit down and let her do whatever she wants to my hair. I normally get a full/partial balayage. She has taken my hair from light to dark and dark to light and it has exceeded my expectations every time. She has the ability to connect with everyone who sits in her chair - I have sent numerous people to her and they always come back in love with their new hair. She truly loves what she does and it shows in her work. She wants you to love your hair and makes the upkeep easy - I still get compliments on my hair color months after she has done it. I don't know anything about hair products but she always seems to be up to date on everything and is constantly taking continuing ed. classes to master different styles and products. She really cares about you as a person and about your hair, and is almost happier than you when it turns out amazing.
