Have been here a few times over the years & never really been impressed with the food as it's a lot of fried options & bar staples that never really impressed me. In this town it's hard to find a decent meal that isn't absolutely horrible for you or that contains some greens in abundance, but during this most recent visit I had their seasonal strawberry salad & it was really damn good. Not only was it a massive portion, but it was generously adorned with nuts, goat cheese, strawberries & grilled chicken. I suggest the poppy seed dressing for it if you get it. It's a salad I would expect to pay between $25-30 for back home & maybe it be half the size. First time at this place and 4 of us decided to give it a try. Waitress was nice and friendly. My problem is the food I ordered was in my opinion was way below quality. I had the 12 "mini tacos" which were over cooked and tasted terrible. I suggest avoiding them . I also ordered 5 dry rub chicken wings. They came out and they were plain with a small plastic cup of "rub". Waitress asked if I wanted them tossed in the rub and I said sure. They came back and it looked like they just dumped the rum on top of the wings. I complained about the quality of the food... they did say sorry LOL. Absolutely abysmal service! Went here after a long day of mound looking. What we expected was a nice place to eat pizza. And we expected that they had it, considering it was a third of their menu. But they ended up running out of pizza! Thankfully we were able to get other things. The food was fine, the chicken "chunks" (nuggets) were good, and the fries were amazing. But the "blackened" chicken quesadilla wasn't great, but the burger was. The main complaint about the service is that my mom got fries with her burger, but she didn't receive the fries until we were about to leave. And also the waiter wasn't particularly polite either, it seemed because we weren't from the area, we weren't coming back, therefore she didn't have to care. We decided to give The Dock another chance after a disappointing visit before. Big mistake!! The atmosphere was chaotic. The noise level made it impossible to have a conversation. It took over an hour to get our food which was then delivered cold. Our waitress seemed oblivious to our wait and when we told her our food was cold she simply shrugged her shoulders and walked away. We wanted to go next door but there wasn't a patio and we had our puppy w/us, so I give this place 2 stars for being dog-friendly. I walked in and the floor was filthy. The patio was a hot mess, too- that should've been the first red flag. We ordered two flavors of wings, both "hot", supposedly deep fried and grilled. The wings were not close to spicy (I realize this is subjective) and they were really underdone; not raw, but not prepared well at all. My boyfriend and I were both disappointed in our mediocre lunch experience. We don't get out a lot b/c we're both so busy. Businesses like this make us want to shy away from eating out or trying something new. It made me sick to pay this bill and give the 20%+ tip b/c it felt like we were setting money on fire. I told our server the wings were underdone and not great and she asked if we wanted to talk to a manager. No, we don't. And if you need to ask that, you don't really care about your customers or their experience. And if you're a restaurant that doesn't train your staff to give great customer service, then I just want to leave and never come back. To top off our less than pleasant experience, there was a woman who was drinking and came outside to our table to tell us she had to come outside b/c there was a woman inside who owes her money and she would go to jail if she stayed inside b/c she'd beat her up. Heartbroken. We have been going to Docks for almost 8 years. We order the same items every time we go, two steak salads, an order of potato skins, and two Dr. Peppers. Tonight we went for the first time this year and to our surprise our meal was $60 (without tip), $71 after tip! This is one of Chillicothe's popular bars. It has a good location across from the park. This is definitely a bar with a sports theme. It also has lots and lots of greasy food. The staff is made up of typical Chillicothe townies. It is popular with locals. If you aren't one you aren't ignored but you definitely will have to wait awhile. This is typical of many of the bars around here. It's just to be expected. The staff is pretty friendly otherwise. I had a vodka and tonic. It's about $3 for a glass. The food menu is mostly fried stuff. I had the basket of pretzels. This is about $7 for several large pretzel sticks. It comes with a choice of cheese or mustard. The mustard is very good and spicy. The bar is unexpectedly clean. Restrooms were kind of smelly but they were clean too. This is a good place for sports. read more

But clearly it's the ownership and managers that have run this place to the dirt. Everything else was an uncomfortable, cringeworthy nightmare that we had to pay a lot for in more ways than one. After we've already been sitting for fifteen minutes with nobody acknowledging us, two guys walk in and sit at a nearby table and I make a bet with myself that these two guys will not only be acknowledged first, but they will have their orders taken first, and get their food first, which is exactly what happens. About 25 minutes in, our orders are finally taken. When our appetizers come, the waitress tells us they "are out of plates" (remember, they've only been open for an hour and there are still only a handful of customers. What happened to all of their plates?) and tries to offer us lousy, cheap little party styrofoam plates, which I refuse. We will not be repeat customers! My fiance and I got the mushroom and Swiss burger, the burger was way overcooked and the mushrooms were terribly undercooked. SO disappointing! Been going here for years for fun, food and drinks, BUT went about a month ago and (formerly great) wings that are a well-known staple here were overcooked, dry and inedible. Went back last night and draft beer (2 different brands) was flat...no wonder! Watched the barmaid wash the glasses, then set the warm glasses under the tap and open it up while she did other things. Ordered dinner: Black and Bleu salad (a favorite for years) but the now-1/4" thick "steak" (absolutely not exaggerating) ordered medium rare was much like jerky...dry and not a sign of pink...and set on a plate of bagged iceberg lettuce. The side salad with my sandwich was the same. Lesson learned: stick to bottled beer and give time for the new owner to get a handle on her kitchen before eating here again : / read more

If I could get 0/5 I would. Unfortunately our waiter was great, very attentive and on top of it. However the "manager" was in no way shape or form capable of being in charge of anything. Our group of 10+ came in on a Sunday to have some drinks and appetizers and were told by the "manger" we were "too loud". She handled the entire situation in such an immature and unprofessional way it was absolutely insane to our entire group. I have eaten at bars and restaurants across the United States and the world and have never been treated as such. If I were the owner of the establishment I would be appalled by the "managers" behavior. Said manager would not give myself or other members of the group her name which speaks to her lack of professionalism and credentials. My daughter, her husband and I met here for lunch. We really didn't know what to expect, but the reviews and online menu persuaded us to try it. The service was perfect. The food was very good. My daughter ordered the prime rib sandwich. It had a nice 1/2 inch thick slice of well seasoned and tender prime rib on sour dough bread. Brian had a bowl of chili which he said was very good. Is it a Bar or restaurant? or neither...... I'm glad I was starving when I went to the Dock. This was my second visit to the Dock and this second try was just as disappointing. The place is a nice sports themed bar? restaurant? sports bar? I dont think they know what they want to be. When you enter it is a little confusing if you seat yourself or not. They have a hostess table to the far left where the wait person stands and stares at you, there was no, "Hello, have you been here before"? Or " you can sit any ware you like". Other that that the service was ok. We were starving so we ordered the "Sensational Nachos", well the description is somewhat misleading a better one would be " cold gas station nachos with some extra stuff thrown in". Just because there is a machine that squirts out hot gooey cheese, usually found in gas stations, does not mean a restaurant should use one. I understand its quicker to do it that way but that's simply lazy. A cop out, for 8 bucks make real nachos. At least walk by the oven when making them so they are not cold. My daughter comment was, we make better ones at home. I ordered the Prime Rib sandwich and my daughter ordered the create your own burger. Mine was well, I would not call it prime rib, more like the steak you buy at the "dollar" store. It came on white bread with a slice of swiss cheese. First time here and had a very pleasant experience. Ordered chili and Hawaii style chicken wings. The chili had loads of meat and tomatos and the flavor was yummy. Not very spicy but very delicious. The Dock is a cool place to go if you are in the Chillicothe area or craving grilled wings. They have great food, a rather large bar area, several televisions you can watch, trivia, and music. The grilled wings are my favorite. I choose spicy garlic, which is the perfect amount of heat. The cheese fries are awesome and you get enough to share with at least four people. The service was great and the price of the food and drinks is reasonable. Great place for the locals to hang out, too. read more

Appearance-wise, a pretty typical sports bar. Nice but not fancy, not too loud. Service was pretty good; maybe a bit slow but they were semi-full. The food was very good. First time here. Great food, burgers cooked perfectly, made you think of summer and real grilled burgers. Even though the patty melt is not on the menu they were able to make an amazing one.
