The Dock Ellis is a wicked hipster sports bar just west of Ossington and Dundas with a wide selection of beer and cocktails, (surprisingly) tasty apps (for a sports bar, that is), and a fun mixed crowd. To compare this to Jack Astor's (Yonge and Bloor) and Scaddabush Italian Kitchen and Bar (Yonge and Gerrard), this place is in a league of its own! You walk in and there's tons of tables for groups, perfect for 4-6 people. There's a foosball table, a pool table, shuffleboard, and 4-5 TV screens for the game. The service is quick and friendly and the kitchen is open concept. -Don't mind the photos that another Yelper uploaded of the empty tables, this must have been a dead night- The night we came, it was pretty much packed, not too many people that you're shoulder to shoulder, but a bustling atmosphere. Pro tip: There's even another huge room downstairs with a full bar that could easily hold 60 people. Would be a great place for a friends and family get-together or celebration. The food is pretty tasty. I ordered the Wonton nachos with chorizo, cheese sauce, salsa, picked jalapeños, and cream. The portion was tiny, but it was delicious and was $5. My friend had the chicken wings brined and fried and the friggin' chicken wing was massive - could have been a prehistoric bird you'd see at the ROM! We arrived at around maybe midnight and was lucky enough to catch a table. But the place seemed packed already. As for the crowd, there's a good mix of guys and gals there, and the noise was a bit loud, but hey, it's a sports bar. Pro tip: Look no further, this is the best sports bar near Ossington and Dundas.

A friendly atmosphere to play some games with friends. It also has a bar for those who like to drink. The games there are fairly cheap to play (from $0.25 to $1 a game. My favourite game is the shuffle board.

Great opening night over at The Dock Ellis. From the fellas that brought you The Emmet Ray (best whiskey bar in the city), here's an upper-scale sports bar with a comfortable interior, great food, and reasonably priced drinks. There are plenty of TVs to watch a game, a foosball and pool table, some couches at the front, a lot of beers on tap, and some very happy servers. Went with a group of people who mostly didn't constitute "sports fans" so they were reluctant - but had a great time and happily surprised at the food we ordered. Fried chicken sandwich (on OMG Baked Goodness milk buns), Nachos with beef brisket (on wontons instead of tortilla chips) is what we ordered and just loved it. New casual hangout bar. Craft bear was good but the food was amazing. Had Memphis fried chicken and burger and both were surprisingly good!

I didn't get a chance to try the chickpea fries but the wonton nachos were tasty and there's a good selection of beer.

The new location has two levels, a beautiful open concept floor plan and a large outdoor patio. We walked in on Saturday (World Series Game 2) and were seated immediately. They had another weekly event going on but that didn't detract from speed and service. The beers are fantastic, with some staples still on the menu from 2013! The Eephus, Wrigley, and Greenwood are original and exactly as I remember, but Ice Cold Beer, Tarps Off, and Oppo were delicious too! Gord and I had Pep & Cheese pizzas (10" New York style pizza, pizza sauce, Ezzo pepperoni, mozzarella, oregano and Grana Padano cheese) and we both took half of our pizzas home for lunch tomorrow. Rosemary had Mac and Cheese (creamy mac and cheese made with our beer and cheddar sauce, topped with melted cheese, shaved scallions) and Chicken Tenders - Kids Combo (3 kid-sized buttermilk marinated, panko-breaded chicken tenders; served with thick cut french fries, plum sauce and ketchup) ... the mac and cheese looked delish and she took half home but the chicken tenders were overcooked. Kevin had a Chicken Clubhouse Sandwich and fries (classic clubhouse sandwich served on 3 pieces of toasted white bread, stacked with grilled chicken breast, shredded lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, bacon, guacamole and chipotle aioli spread). Alfred had a Margherita pizza (10" New York style pizza, pizza sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and Grana Padano cheese). Christine had a Chicken Caesar Wrap (grilled chicken breast, romaine, parmesan, caesar dressing, wrapped in a 12" flour tortilla) and took half home. Ocean was our server. She was friendly and took good care of us. For some reason, the 3 pizzas came out about 15 minutes after the other meals so they were almost finished by the time we started.

Ambiance - 4/5: similar to most sports bar, it's dim and loud with a lot of sports games on tv. They had a lot of reservations so the tables were split off for our small reservation. It felt a little tight. There seems to be 2 levels of seating. Service - 3.75/5: we got there early but they were nice enough to seat us early. The host sweetly pulled out my seat for me. It took us awhile to decide what to order but the server was patient with us. He checked in on us a few times. Maybe because the tables are tight, servers kept knocking into my chair seving other patrons and my seat is all the way into the table. Food - 3.5/5: I appreciate that the menu gives little historical moments that happened over the years. we ordered: Spinach dip - comes with chips and pita. Some of the chips were heavily seasoned. The pita is soft but doesnt really absorb much of the spinach dip. The dip itself is light in flavor. I prefer the chips over the pita Steak frites - we ordered medium rare and they got the cook right. The steak knife is very bendy. It should have been a AAA striploin but for some reason it felt tough and was hard to cut through. The charcoal grill marks made the exterior too burnt, giving it a bitterness to the steak. It came with an arugula salad and a very genorous portion of fries. Everything was seasoned well. The arugula salad and the chimmichuri on the steak had a tartness to it which added some brightness to the dish. I typically don't use ketchup but I needed it to help me with the fries. I could not finish the fries Sundae - there's probably only 1 scoop worth of vanilla ice cream. It comes in a cup with whipped cream and berries. Overall: 3.75/5 - If we come back, I might try other food items.

We walked up without reservation and were given a ticket and told to head upstairs. We were seated right away and luckily got there before the rush before the game. A gentleman waiter offered to take a picture of my son and I which was nice of him. We will return.

They always put the leafs game on when they're playing which is Mae's them a reliable game spot. Over the past couple of years I felt their food quality has slowly declined but today was different. Way exceeded my expectations. We started with a corona zero and ranch water (passion fruit flavour) we were both really happy with it. The didn't skimp on the tequila. We started with the Brussels sprouts which is always a great choice from here. Crispy on the outside and not an overwhelming Brussels sprout taste. This is likely because there is a generous sprinkling of grated parm and a great amount of dip. We tried the crispy tuna sushi. The tuna was beautifully marinated, so flavourful. And the sushi was nice and crispy. The vodka pie was a seasonal item and when we saw it listed, we knew we needed to try it. The sauce- amazing, the press was nice and flaky and light and really tasty. And the soccer Sada added nice saltines and flavour without being too overwhelming. For happy hour, the apps and pizzas were $5 off, and the ranch water was $5. I'd come back for the pizza alone! Jeans was our waitress and she was great!

I would not hesitate to come back, but there are some things I would definitely not order again. Not order again: - mozzarella sticks - these were not cheesy, fresh, or flavourful, huge disappointment - prosciutto and zeppole - prosciutto were not very fresh or thinly sliced, weirdly presented with the zeppole on the side Will definitely order again: - heroic dose pasta - the pasta was so fresh, great sauce and plenty of mushrooms (my favourite dish) - NYC spicy rigatoni - really good flavours and the pasta texture was perfect (also homemade) - Caesar salad - so creamy and I think they make the sauce in house bc I tasted a hint of the anchovy umami flavour The pesto pasta was pretty good too. And so were all the pizzas. I can't comment much on the pizzas because I was heavily focused on their homemade pasta. Everyone enjoyed the pizzas though. The only things that was bad were the two appetizers we got. They also offer an extensive list of drinks - beer, wine, cocktails, mocktails. I really like this spot and will definitely be back!
