Lithuanian Food? Never tried it before but I kind of had to since my flatmate is from Lithuania…read more I heard before that basically everything is made of meat and potatoes with a lot of sour cream on top. And here we go, that's exactly what it was. I tried Kugelis which were kind of mashed potatoes with meat and sour cream and my friend had something that I don't remember the name but was also some potato balls with meat and sour cream. We also had some beetroot and yogurt soup which was delicious. The portions were huge and I couldn't even finish half of mine. The restaurant itself is in a shopping center but apart from that it looks actually quite nice. The theme is like the name Lituanica, which is a plane that flew from the United States across the Atlantic Ocean by Lithuanian-American pilots in 1933. After successfully flying most of the distance it crashed 650 km from its destination in Lithuania. There are pictures of the plane and the pilots and that's pretty cool. The food wasn't really my taste (apart from the soup) and it felt a bit like a cantine but my Lithuanian friend likes it so it must be authentic.

The vegetables were also half gone with fewer choices remaining for sides. Again, the staff appeared to have no intention of getting more carrots or beetroot from the kitchen- I was stuck with only cole slaw as a veg option. I should mention, it was only 6:30 pm! It is not like I tried to show up late or near closing. The supermarket was even worse-staff was rude and my groceries were tallied incorrectly. I was overcharged by £3.79 for something I did not purchase! The woman at the till was far more interested in having a gossip conversation with her colleague than to ring up my order. This is probably why I was overcharged. For these reasons, I will not return.

Loved the vibe there and especially feel sophisticated when people around you are ordering things like 'Old Fashion' and Hendricks for a change. Restaurant side though it is quite pricy. I can't think of a reason to eat there unless it's work related functions. Just too corporate.

The trick to get the most intense cake was blend the tea leaves AND matcha powder together, this was paired with a slightly burnt caramel sauce and a super sweet peanut ice cream. But eaten together, the balance was JUST right, right amount of tea intensity, bittersweetness and crunch! The brittle was not sticky to the teeth and it was so so so good. I WANT ANOTHER ONE NOW. I DON'T CARE IM WRITING THIS IN THE MORNING. NOW. Right from when we say down to when we left, the service was impeccable and faultless. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive, with a dash of humorous sarcasm! Apparently being the difficult customers we were, we asked about the whole menu, but you know, for the benefit of YELP obviously! My fellow diners opted to get the soft boiled gulls egg and the dramatics were great, it came in a gulls nest hidden under straw! It was a bit finicky though- shell to take off and wasn't as runny as they'd like - also they brought out 4 eggs but then stated that the price was per egg, which was a bit weird. But I guess they were clear about that! Saying that though, it tasted amazing, or so I was told. Then the mains, gosh the beef cheek I had was beautiful, soft and rich and just the right amount of food on a plate (along with a salad side) It was a beautiful plate of dish and I was recommended a glass of red which paired really nicely! I think it was the Morgan! Aside from one of us, most of us opted for beef from steak to steak tartare and they were lovely enough to do a mains portion of steak tartare for my friend. Unfortunately the steak wasn't as great as the boys expected- steak was wonderfully big but that was it's downfall, it wasn't soft enough! And one of my diners had the market fish which was the Dover sole in a Beurre blanc sauce and it was massive. The mains alone are well worth the 30% off! So ups and downs, and I wish I could give it 4,5 stars because aside from the minor steak fiasco, the food was beautiful, the service faultless even when they knew that we were not full paying diners! With drinks and everything, it wasn't cheap and it's something for payday for sure- 5 of us came to about £40+ a head....

This Establishment is within the Raddison, nevertheless I figured it deserves its own review…read more As the name of the places implies there are two distinct areas which make up this place, the bar and the restaurant. As with the hotel, they are going for a modern decor, with lots of highly polished black surfaces. The bar itself is full service and the bartenders are friendly, but not overly talkative and seem to know their way around the bar. I personally feel the beer selection is limited, but the wine selection was rather long and seemed to attend to the various tastes within the group. The bar had a combination of seating, with the traditional stools at the bar and some comfortable lounge chairs. The bar is a good meeting up place to get primed for somewhere else. If I could rate the bar itself, it would be a solid 3. The restaurant is spacious and has a pleasant decor. The menu however is somewhat limited, offering several cuts of meats, fowl and fish. For my taste the food preparation is a bit on the exotic side and along with this comes the smaller portions. Very nice presentations, but when your hungry, I'd rather see at least 80% of the plate filled with food... here you get the opposite, 90% plate that looks pretty, with the food almost being an afterthought. I figured it would be nice to go with their special for it had a few interesting items listed and thought they would give them special attention. However, right from the starters, they did poorly. Setting as-side the small quantities, the quality of the food was poor. The fish was cooked to the right temperature as it flaked nicely and I was thinking it was going to taste as good as it looked, BUT, it literally had absolutely no taste whatsoever. So, I left the restaurant hungry and disappointed while being grateful that I had some fruit in the room to satisfy my hunger. If I could rate the restaurant itself, it would be a solid 1.
