When you see The Doc's Inn from the outside it looks very nice with a beautiful outdoor seating area but when you go in there is almost no seating. The menu has almost no food on it which is a little upsetting. But overall the service is really good! If you're looking for somewhere to eat I don't recommend this place, but if you're just looking to go have some drinks with some friends this would be a great place I'm sure. The main reason I'm rating it two stars is because it does say bar and grill but only has like 4 things on the menu that are basically all appetizers. read more

The Doc's Inn is definitely a good place for a solid meal on this end of the Quad Cities. While the gyro I ate didn't blow my mind it was good and everything had obviously been made to order. The highlight of our meal was the flaming cheese. A cook brought it out sizzling on a platter, pulled out a lighter, lit it on fire, and halfheartedly exclaimed "Opa!" It was hilarious and wonderful. The cheese itself was fine. I ordered a gyro which, as aforementioned, was nothing to write home about, and my boyfriend ordered an Italian beef sandwich that came without the customizations he'd selected, but he liked it anyway. There are several other items on the menu that I'm interested in trying. Portion sizes were prodigious. I enjoyed the atmosphere at The Doc's Inn and our server was competent. Although isn't high on my list of priorities, I'd be happy to return for a second visit. read more

I had the Reuben and it was excellent. Some restaurants bathe their Reubens in so much fat you may as well ask for a heart stent on the side. Doc's Inn on the other hand served a tasty Reuben that was just right. Some of the best fries I've had in a while too. Nice atmosphere. read more

Talk about a bad experience. We went to the location and ordered food to go for 3 of us ($42 worth of food plus a $5 drink while waiting). We got home to find that we were missing all 3 of our sides!! Called them to let them know what happened and we'd be stopping back to get the rest of our food. The guy on the phone sounded annoyed that we were calling them out on their mistake and expecting it to be corrected. Their fix? After one of us had to drive back there, making this person's meal cold by the time they got home, they gave us a generous $5 gift card! (sarcasm) Wow. After returning home we found yet another mistake. The person that went back for the rest of the food ordered their sandwich with no onions. What was on the sandwich? You guessed it, onions. The food: Wings were bland, fries over salted, couldn't get the toppings right. The pulled pork and soup were good however. The staff: The wait staff was really nice and attentive while we waited. I saw the gentleman write down our order and it was all correct on paper. Leads me to believe a new kitchen staff may be a good solution. In the end, I had decent expectations for this place, but it was a complete let down. I would have gone higher on the rating had they seemed a little more concerned about the numerous errors and inconvenience they caused us. They at least should have refunded the sides, or made the gift higher to account for that. What a shame... read more

My experience here was less than stellar. As a bartender myself I give a lot of allowance because I understand sometimes its stressful. However, the bartender ignored me at the bar for at least five minutes while he finished his conversation with another patron which was annoying. Once I ordered my drink my order was met with an eye roll and one of the worst tasting drinks I've ever had. I passed it around the table of 4 other bartenders who also agreed. Our server came to the table twice and each time forgot our drink order. We will absolutely never come back to this place, we had heard such good things but were amazingly disappointed on every level. read more

Can't believe Doc's was voted Best Gyros in the Quad Cities. Gyros was very greasy, no taste to the Tzatziki sauce and NO hot sauce aside from Tabasco. Fries very good. Extremely slow service....a party of four who came in after I ordered were just about finished their meals before I got mine. The side of pasta salad didn't approach elementary school quality. Their add in the Quad City Reader had my taste buds juiced. What a LARGE disappointment. The server did comp my meal. I came here recently with my mom on a Saturday night for dinner. It was pretty busy at 7:00 and the only available table was one right inside the door. They did seem to turn over tables pretty quickly, so the wait wasn't longer than 15-20 minutes as far as I could tell. Service was a little sketchy, we had kind of a ditzy server, but she was nice. My mom ordered the Greek appetizer plate, which looked pretty good and had a lot of stuff on it. I ordered a burger with a side salad. The salad was good, but came on this tiny plate with no edge, so it was really hard to keep everything on the plate. My burger came about 1 minute after the salad, so it sat getting a little soggy while I finished my salad. The burger was good, nothing special, served on a generic white bun. The service is super friendly! Our waitress was very knowledgeable and gave us the specials today and through the week. She checked on us regularly and filled our drinks. We ordered the gyro. It is a little bland. We got extra taziki sauce on the gyro and it was free. They charge an extra 50 cents for a side of taziki sauce. The place was packed but not overly loud and we still got great service. We will come again but not for gyros because it was bland. They offer the lettuce , tomato and onion. Yikes, it time for the owner to implement the if you've got time to lean, you've got time to clean. Place was a mess. Women's bathroom looked like there was actually vomit that had been rinsed slightly down the sink, never mind the water leaking out of the closet doors & the grim around all the sink fixtures. Main room was not only hot & stuffy, but the amount of food, crumbs, & debris on the fool was pretty gross considering that there were three booths and two people sitting at the bar... ( we were one of the three) the table that was "cleaned" while we sat there, I would have had to asked to be re cleaned had I wanted to sit there. I mean even pushing a chair in could have helped. Sadly as a first time patron we were excited to try something different around or new home. Our drinks alone sat so long that they melted down and it took more then ten minutes to get them out to us. The only server was trying to have lunch ( I get that) but the bar tender could have walked them over- he had no orders. And let the serve know that a new table came in... (they left, no one ever helped them) Food looked good, the cook seems to be working hard, hopefully this is just a very off day. read more

The saganaki is fun and delicious! It's the reason we go back. The rest of the menu is decent, and they have some good sandwich type items. Service can be hit or miss, but in all the times we've been there we've had an overall positive experience. read more

What a change! In their earlier years they had delicious food & service. Now, it's just another bar in a strip mall with mostly domestic beer & menu changes. Example: used to serve hand cut large onion rings. Now, medium sized out of a bag from a distributor. Servers didn't care whether you're there or not. read more

It's extremely small place and the wait can be long sometimes. Not to mention, beers are a little pricey compared to other bars in the area. The fries are literally delicious little fried pieces of heaven (try dipping them in ranch!!). The staff is hit and miss. The gyros are mediocre unfortunately which, besides the beer and the size, are the major drawbacks. Food is a little pricey, but overall it's a decent place for some bar food. read more

I ordered out. They were very quick and my food was hot. We ordered hot wings basket, catfish strips basket, and chicken strips. It all was good and well seasoned!! The only thing was that my tartar sauce was extremely thin and runny and the ranch for the hot wings was super thick, I didn't get to try it my fiancé tossed it before I could try. read more

Doc's is one of my go to places for a couple drinks and food with friends, especially late at night. They have a full delicious menu till 2 AM. The atmosphere is a, nice, warm and inviting place. This place has definitely down hill since it opened. My favorite thing used to be the Chicken Caesar Wrap with their pasta salad. Well, they don't have pasta salad anymore so I was already sad. I get my wrap and it tastes like Honey Mustard. I HATE honey mustard. I was convinced the wrong dressing was put on by mistake. The bartender was kind enough to bring me a sample of the honey mustard and the Caesar so I could taste test and make sure I wasn't crazy. They both tasted the same. Yuck! I'll be back for the beer but I'll pass on the food from now on. read more

We LOVE this place! The food is SO good. Generous portions, prepared with care and creativity, but not pretentiousness. The fries are the best in the QC area...nay anywhere. This place surprised us with how nice it was inside. It looks good on the outside and has a nice patio, but the decor, tables, and multiple tvs makes the environment very inviting. I had their Chicken Gyro and thought it was very good. They also have a decent selection of Scotch (Glenlivit 12, Glenffidich 12, JW Black, Glenmorangie, Bowmore 15 , Aberlour, and Laphroaig 10) too. FANTASTIC flaming cheese appetizer served with crispy pita slices...just amazing. I ordered a regular gyro basket. Gyro was a little skimpy on the sauce but tasted good (would have tasted GREAT with more sauce). The seasoned fries were wonderful. Already seasoned fries but then with additional seasoning on top. VERY salty but it was great, fries are supposed to be super salty, I loved it all! This place is a gem. We'd just finished 36 holes at Deere Run, and we were starving and in a hurry and resigned to eating at a chain. Spotted this place. Think of the menu as high quality bar food but with a Greek influence. Gyros were awesome. Italian beef delicious. My fave was the fish tacos. Grilled catfish, great salsa, some Greek-influenced sauce, on light fresh Greek bread instead of tortillas - hard to describe but really really good. Served around a salad with fresh mixed greens - not iceberg. Service was as great as the food. Fast and super friendly, genuinely enthusiastic about the food and about taking care of guests. Awesome dinner spot, lunch spot and place for drinks. This is probably one of my favorite places on the Illinois side of the QC. Great food. I'm usually a creature of habit at restaurants but I've tried a lot of things on the menu. The atmosphere inside is great and not what you would expect. I think they've outgrown the interior space. They do have a nice patio for the summer months that has room for 30-40. They also use the unused rear parking lot for events and small concerts. Overall a great place and operated well. read more

Stopped in for the first time a week ago to catch some football while I waited to pick my son up from a football game. Awesome place! I had a BLT gyro, and it was just as delicious as I hoped it would be! A giant gyro with all the traditional toppings, plus 5 strips of bacon, lettuce and tomato! It was great! Our server was friendly and attentive. We were seated quickly and stayed for a while after our meal to watch some football. Great place for Hawkeye fans to catch a game! Went there for lunch this week. First time going there and I won't go back. First, flies in the restaurant - several that bothered us the entire lunch. Second - iced tea was from a machine and was bad. Third, ordered a Ceasar salad - it was the worst Ceasar salad I have ever had. The romaine lettuce was served as full leaves - not cut up. Very difficult to eat. The "croutons" were small pieces of bread that were hard as a brick and difficult to eat or cut. The dressing was the worst though - it was like watered down Boetje's mustard. Definitely not a Ceasar-like dressing. Won't be going there again. read more

The food was good however giving this a one star review as the waitress was the absolute rudest waitress I have ever had. She rolled her eyes continuously, wrote a lot of orders down wrong, told us we didn't get sides with our food when the other side of the table who ordered the same things did (we had a big group so we had two waitresses). She sighed when we said we would like our sides when it was confirmed our food was supposed to come with sides. She then rolled her eyes again when we asked for silverware (how do you eat coleslaw without silverware?). Our group of friends at the opposite side of the table had much better service with the other waitress. Hoping she was just having a bad day because her attitude was horrendous. read more

Went there while visiting the QC. They use amazingly good ingredients. But they were so busy that my burger was way overlooked on one side. Mentioned it to the waitress and she said she would tell the cook. The rest of the meal was very good and will certainly go back when I visit the Q C again. In case anyone from Doc's Inn is reading this, you should have thrown the patty away and started over. Just an opinion. Then you would still have had a perfect 5 star rating. read more

Great food! Good service. Just a couple of things. Cooks need to be wearing hair restraints an hand washing looked to be nonexistent and it looks dirty. If your going to have your kitchen in full view of the guest, at least practice good food safety and sanitation behaviors. Also, what a really nice back bar! But get rid of the clutter. This isn't your bedroom. The back bar is a display of your wares. Not storage for drink recipe books, etc... im giving this type of feedback because I like this restaurant/bar and want to see it even more successful. read more
