Fun place to bring family and friends. Gave it a 3/5 because nothing really stood out above ordinary as far as taste goes. A few specifics below for those interested: - Shrimp Po Boy was seasoned well. Tarter sauce was yummy. Shrimp was a little rubbery, and I couldn't taste the tomato or lettuce. Probably not fresh. Unfortunately the bread was not toasted, and was dry. Took away some of the flavor. Only came with 5 small shrimp or so for $9, so a little bit pricey. - Hush puppies are delicious! - Chicken Philly tasted like an onion-filled, sloppy joe sandwich unfortunately. Which is odd since it is chicken. Bread had the same issue as the bread with the po-boy. - Fries lacked in flavor, and cheese sauce is a cheaper nacho cheese. Great lunch spot, today was my first time eating here, the people are nice at the ordering window, the wait is not long at all may 2-3 mins top, I had a burger which was awesome but it's not hand tossed. The fries with the malt vinegar was also great!! My coworker had the grilled cheese brisket which looked amazing and jalepeno corn nuggets and he loved it!!!! I also had the homemade brownie cheesecake at first I thought geez $5.00 for one slice of cheesecake but OMG, it was well worth the price !!! It was sooooooo good!!! Thats definitely a must-have. Hello. The Dog House is pretty damn good, we'll start off that way. Open Wednesday through Saturday, they offer the area's best BBQ by far. The sides are varied and good. Ambience is pretty in that you order in a "Tiki Lounge" style canopy and enjoy your food outside if you wish. Here's a tip, get there early! Don't underestimate this place! This was a last second decision to stop here. We were driving by on our way to St Pete , saw this place and decided to turn around. Definitely glad we did. A food truck with a covered dining area that's equipped with 6 picnic style tables under an awning. Decorated to look like a thatched roof with fans in the corners and beachy decor. A cute lil spot. They had quite a few items that sounded pretty tasty but I decided to go with a basic. I ordered a sauerkraut dog (all beef) and a cup of the Max & cheese. I'm a bit of a Mac & cheese snob so I was a Leary however whenever I see Mac on a menu , in order to be fair , I HAVE to give it a try. I asked if it was baked (the best of course!) and to my surprise she said "no it's smoked " so if course it was a must try! WOW! This Mac & cheese was freeking delicious! It wasn't your classic but it was de freeking licious! The hot dog was fantastic... it was served on a toasted bun and it was all beef!!! My husband ordered the 1/2 lb brisket platter. Located right off US 41 in Ruskin Fl, the Dog House offers a food truck, outdoor dining hybrid experience. An outdoor pavilion serves as your dinning area, with about 6 picnic style tables and one two top. You walk up to the truck to place your order with a menu flanking the ordering window. I opted for the 1/2 lb. brisket platter with fries as my side. My order was delivered in no time, the cook added a white "Alabama" style bbq sauce for me to try and pointed to their sauce bar in the event I wanted additional options. The brisket was sliced, not chopped (KUDOS!), extremely juicy and tender, with just the right amount of smoke (personal preference here). My fries were true home fries, cut on site and were equally good. My wife had the Sauerkraut Hot Dog with the smoked Mac and cheese. Before I go on this, allow me to preface my comments with this statement "my wife is a Mac and Cheese snob!". Her southern roots have fined tuned her senses to, at the first smell, sight and taste, discern if the dish is on point or a sad pass. She loved it! Funky lil place. Workers are so friendly and upbeat, let you know ASAP if they're sold out of something or running low. They always get us our drinks while we wait which is never long but nice on a hot day! Sweet potato fries and marshmallow fluff dip are novelty and so good. Smoked hot dogs are delicious. Brisket grilled cheese, burgers, hush puppies are favorites. They wear awesome the brisket was cooked to perfection and the corn fritters was awesome i will stop just tp get them alone. I've passed The Dog House for a few years while staying at the Resort and Inn at Little Harbor but never took the opportunity to try it until my visit to FL last week. After an early Friday (2/7/20) flight from NY to Tampa I was hungry when I got to the Ruskin area and enjoyed a cup of Manhattan Clam Chowder Soup. It was delicious and perfect to curb my appetite. I was so impressed with their menu and all the good looking food coming out of the trailer that I revisited The Dog House for lunch at about 3:30 pm and enjoyed a small cup of seven-cheese mac 'n' cheese and an open faced boneless rib sandwich. The cooker/smoker ("Pig Pit") is located on the premises so you know it's the real deal! Delish! Their menu features a lot of varieties of food including chili dogs, burgers, BBQ sandwiches and subs, (we call them heroes in NY), slow-smoked ribs and chicken, pulled pork and beef brisket. Prices are reasonable. The place is clean and I observed them wiping the tables after each customer left. I read that they feature monthly Cool Car Cruise-Ins on the first Saturday of each month from October through April from 12:30 to 3:30 pm. Can't wait to return when I visit to the area again. read more

Holy cow, my Dad and I took a short fishing trip on the bay this afternoon (Captain Matt Santiago). On the captains advice we took a couple of sea trout to the Dog House and got the hook and cook special. Fish tacos, half fried and half blackened for $7, awesome!!!
