    Banana Pudding
    Leroy W.

I've been encouraged to try the food here for years but have been unsuccessful due to not making it there before closing or the food is sold out, all good things if you're in this line of business. Now that I live nearby, I had to give it a go. So, I called ahead and asked if they still had food available (it was a little after 5pm on a Saturday), the young lady said yes but to hurry. Great customer service for sharing this information. I arrived 5 minutes later and there was a line. The restaurant is small but has ample seating inside and outside. The patrons were happy and from my observation very pleased with the meals, except for those in line as they'd just announced it would be another 45 minutes for ribs... I waited a good 30 minutes to make my way to the service counter, which wasn't bad after seeing how long the line was when I arrived. I ordered the combo plate which comes with two meats, and two sides. however, since I've not been there before and not likely to be able to get back for some time I ordered a little more to take home. I had the pulled pork, barbecue chicken, collard greens, mac & cheese, baked beans, their garlic potatoes, a side of potato salad, and topped it off with a serving of their banana pudding that was said to be on special. My total for this order was just over $22 before tip, which is an amazing price for all of what I ordered. Now for the taste test, I generally rate things 1 through 10 so that's what I will do on the items that I purchased. I would give their pulled pork a solid 8.5, as it was tender, juicy, and tons of flavor and smoke. The chicken would be score a 6 as my pieces were dry, although having a decent amount of flavor. The collard greens-3, for me, did taste as if they came from a can and their appearance. The baked beans-4 again not anything special, basic from the can warm beans. The garlic potatoes 9.5, good flavors and not overcooked. The macaroni and cheese a 4. I give this score for the mac & cheese because for me, it was just basic noodles, some butter and cheddar cheese on the top. The potato salad gets a 4 as it had good consistency & the flavor profile was pretty good, however, it was too sweet for my tastes, and lastly, the banana pudding gets a 1 as it was just canned pudding, soggy wafers, no bananas and what appeared to be either marshmallow fluff or melting whipped cream on the top. There was no attempt in my opinion that this was a homemade banana pudding. All in all, this is a nice family run, community hub that based on what I've seen and heard has been around for quite some time. The staff were overly friendly and patient. I think I will visit once again once they have ample supplies of ribs available to give them another opportunity, and I also suggest that you give them a try to form your own opinion. This review is based on my experience and my opinion.

Went here for the first time and thought it was very good BBQ. I'm from Memphis so I'm not necessarily comparing it to the best pork BBQ in the world. I would eat here over and over again though. Worth noting , we had several sides ... potato's in what seems like a butter sauce ( these were OMG good), green beans ( good), okra ( good) , coleslaw ( very good ) , some sort of corn fritter thing ( outstanding) Prices were very reasonable. Service was fast and friendly.... You order at the counter and there are only a few tables inside and some tables outside. Bathroom was clean and decent. They are closed Sun, Mon and Tues so make note of that !

I'm speechless! First time my husband and I went to this place , drove by many times but it is a little hidden. There is nothing I didn't like ! The meats had a smoky flavor! Juicy and tender, the potatoes with garlic were delicious, I'm a fan of collard greens and it was excellent! Very good portions and reasonably priced, and give discount to military and first responders! Definitely this will be our regular stop !

Combo platter... we ribs & pulled pork, mac/cheese and fried okra.

Oh man.... This BBQ is the spot. I'm not a huge rib person but these were the best I've ever eaten! They fell off the bone by just picking them up... and what a flavor! We chose the sweet BBQsauce which was perfect. The pulled pork was also juicy and tender... That mac/cheese was so cheesy and creamy... and the fried okra was battered/fried perfectly, they were a bit salty for me but my other half loved them! The ribs were so good we put in an order of 7 slabs for an event next week! The service was great, you order at the counter and take a seat... not a ton of seating inside but did have some seating available outside as well! During our time there most people ordered to go! When you pull up you can see and smell the wonderfulness of the smoke! This is a MUST!

Best BBQ around in my opinion. Meat, sides and sauce all hit. Locally owned. Wait is worth it.

The food is fresh and hot. The fried chicken in Friday is one of my favorites. The ribs and sides are very good for the money.

    Do they have brisket?

Used to have brisket a few years ago. Was not a fan. Regardless, they discontinued brisket for at least a year now.

Real Texas BBQ in southwest Florida - Finding great bbq in Florida can sometimes be a daunting…read moretask, I've eaten lots of bbq and consider myself somewhat of an bbq aficionado having enjoyed bbq across this great country, every region has their own unique and different styles so believe me when I say all bbq is not created equal. Texas bbq has always been at the top of my list after traveling and working in Texas for decades and experiencing what I think is some of the best on the planet. I admit my expectations were pretty high long before I walked through the door here - just from the exterior and interior ambiance I immediately knew these people are serious bbq people and some of the friendliest you'll ever meet. In my opinion eating bbq should be an experience yes the meat preparations are of the utmost most importances but the sides, and desserts also have to be on point as well and of course fresh brewed tea. I wanted to try it all which is not reasonable so I read the menu, scanned the daily specials board(s) and also considered the recommendations by our wonderful server. We enjoyed some great sandwiches and sides and couldn't of had a better lunch during our drive through southwest Florida. Chopped Brisket Sandwich - the bun was fresh and toasted perfectly so it held up to the sauce that I drenched on the beautifully smoked meat, the lean to fat ratio was absolutely perfect and the smoked flavors came through making this one of the best bbq sandwiches I've eaten in a very long time. Pulled Pork Sandwich - the perfectly smoked pork was piled high and very lean, this is a big and delicious work of art. We ordered the sauce on the side so we could control the portion and it worked out great. Pinto Beans - these beans are cooked down until they melted into the smooth and creamy broth that was filled with onions and jalapeño peppers - these are a must try especially if you top them with some fresh raw onion and a few dashes of the Tabasco Pepper Vinegar table side the only thing I regret is that I didn't get a quart of these to take back to the campground. Fried Okra - Crispy deliciousness a southern delicacy served with ranch dressing, this combination is never a disappointment when done right and they do the okra right here. It was nice to get pickles and raw onions on the side, in my opinion if a bbq joint misses this step they don't understand what a bbq experience should be. We really enjoyed our meals here and appreciated the hospitality from the staff, great food, great service all at a reasonable price is always a winning combination, this is definitely a place I hope to return to soon...
