Like most puppies, he's full of energy and excited to play. He was scheduled for a half day with a bath before pickup, but due to a change in my schedule, I called around noon to request that he stay for a full day. The staff member I spoke with asked if I wanted him to go back outside with the other dogs or be placed in a separate room to avoid getting dirty again. I clearly stated that I wanted him to return to daycare for more playtime, and that I didn't mind if he got dirty. However, when my boyfriend picked him up, we learned that he had instead been left alone in a room for nearly six hours without going outside or having access go to the bathroom. This is extremely concerning. Not only was my request disregarded, but my puppy was also neglected during his time there. Like many dog owners, my puppy is a beloved part of my family, and I trusted this facility to provide safe care. Unfortunately, that trust was broken. I hope this feedback encourages the staff to take better accountability moving forward, so that no other pet has to experience the same.

I was referred to Needham Animal Hospital by a new friend when I moved to Wilmington a couple of…read moremonths ago. They did not disappoint. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by the receptionist and my vet tech was wonderful and positive. My pup, Beau, isn't the biggest fan of vets (he's actually quite the opposite), so I personally dread this visit as much as he does because he gets so nervous and anxious, and I know it's quite a job to handle him. The experience I had at Needham and with Dr. Stephanie Crow was the best experience I've ever had with a vet. My last vet visit was a very poor one (at another establishment before I moved), so I was extra nervous, especially establishing at a new location. Stephanie walked in with the biggest smile on her face (especially after I knew Beau was likely difficult) and just loved him so much. She sat right there on the floor beside Beau with me, answered all of my questions, explained every medication to me, and made me feel right at ease. My boyfriend and I both were VERY pleased all around. The pricing was also standard for an animal hospital (and was actually a LOT cheaper than what I was used to at an establishment in Cary, NC before I moved). I'm pleased here. All of this to say, I am SO happy I established here. I know that they will take care of Beau (and my nerves) on every visit. Have you ever had something happen with a pup and you are completely lost on what to do? Well…read morethat's what happened with us and we are sooooo thankful for Mike at Anytime Dog Training!! Our 5 month old male pittie mix bit our son requiring a trip to the pediatrician and 2 fur parents who have dogs all their lives with no clue what to do with the pup. We didn't want to give him away, we contacted the rescue we got him from who said they'd probably put him down, so I started reaching out to trainers for help. The email I sent Anytime Dog Training probably made me sound like a crazy person just overreacting, but I was anxious and overwhelmed, and Mike reached out on the day they received the email (the day they were closed btw) to find out what was going on and were able to come over the next day for a consult. We felt immediately better after meeting Mike and his wife and knew we had picked the right place. We dropped our pup Loki off for a 3 week board and train for behavioral modification and knew he'd be ok. The facility was clean and well-maintained, nice and cool on one of the hottest days of the year so far. It's always scary leaving your baby for their first overnight stay away from home but Mike eased our nerves by sharing videos of Loki making new friends, putting in the training work, and how absolutely happy he was being there. Mike brought him to our home several times throughout the weeks for us to train with Loki as a family for us to see how far he'd come in his training, along with getting our son comfortable with Loki again. I mean Loki loves Mike, and you've gotta be a pretty good guy to gain the love and respect from a big head bully pup! We could not be anymore impressed with Mike's skill and expertise with training our stubborn Loki, and answering all the questions and the fears from his mama lol. Teaching Loki to be a better version of his self was worth every penny we spent for the care and professionalism he received. Now that we know we've found the best, we will never board our Loki anywhere else. Plus definitely plan on sending him and his big sister Penny there for doggy daycare to play again soon!!

However they didn't listen to anything I said about my dogs haircut. They chose to do what they wanted and it was awful. They did the complete opposite of what I requested and now he looks like a hot mess. I actually had people ask me what happened to him. Picture doesn't show that he was shaved bald under his neck and the bandanna all the way down his chest and his behind. His tail looks like a lolly pop. I can't comment on their boarding but stay far, far away from the grooming department.
