Don't work here!! The owner of this establishment, Kelley, does not know how to communicate or treat people with disabilities. My son who has autism was hired here and despite him working hard and sweating with inadequate AC, she fired him before he even finished his 2nd week of training. She does not communicate and pretty much hid from me when I tried to speak with her about my son's hours and when he is expected to get off work since we need to schedule USURV rides and I alternatively drove 2 hours a day to drop him off and pick him up. She told him they work "to the standard", but when you take USURV rides which is a rideshare company for people with disabilities you have to schedule those rides 2 hours in advance. Her "working to the standard" had him getting off over an hour past his shift time which would not work when trying to schedule rides. All I wanted was a little communication to clarify when we could expect him to be off so that I could schedule his rides accordingly. Anyway, on his last day, she let him finish his entire shift and pushed his lunch all the way back to 1 hour before he got off, before firing him. Keeping in mind, the night before he worked 1 to 8, closed and got out over an hour late with still having to be there the next morning at 6:00 a.m. which meant coming from where we live we'd have to get up at 4:30 a.m. Her response to him was "I had to get up at 3:00 sometimes"..Well, she didn't have to get up at 3:00 a.m. the day she fired him. She came in at noon to do that. He tried so hard. He really loves animals and said this job made him feel like he knew who he was and he said the dogs needed him which is why he was so adamant about coming in the next morning with only 5 hours of sleep to be fired unbeknownst to him. A walkie-talkie clip that he was wearing because he didn't have a uniform yet kept falling from his shirt and she told him he would have to pay for it out of his check. I watched her ignore him when he tried to speak with her after he was fired (I didn't know he was fired yet at the time). She completely ignored him. It's already hard enough for a person with autism to communicate especially in difficult situations and she would even acknowledge him. She doesn't have compassion for people with disabilities how can she have it for dogs? I wouldn't drop a dead dog off at this facility. I wouldn't trust a dog in her care. I am so glad my son is gone and he does not have to work with people like that in such an awful place. This was his first job and a horrible first time work experience. I see that other people mention this in their reviews as well and as a lesson learned, I will make sure I read the reviews on future job prospects and their management before I send my child to work there. read more

Our dog seems happy and well cared for during his stay, however, recently I had to cancel an appointment. My doctor would not clear me to take the planned trip. So I called Dog Stop with 24 hours notice and was told that they require 48 hour notice, doctor's note or not. They then charged my credit card $50. I really don't feel that this policy is fair and am not sure I will ever use them again. read more

Rudest owner i've ever met. Kelley is extremely passive and doesn't know how to speak to anyone with respect, won't ever bring another dog here again. Would never recommend this place and am surprised it's still running with her in charge. I've shared my experience with other pet owners and they have even agreed that they completely avoid not only bringing their dog here but working here because of the way Kelley chooses to speak to people. I take our 94 lb. golden retriever to the Dog Stop for a "playcation" when we go overseas or someplace that is not dog friendly. This is an excellent, woman-owned business. My pup stays in a standard room (lowest cost), and his bed from home fits in just fine. He loves playing with the other dogs, and I like viewing him from the playcams. For sure, he is getting more exercise there than he does at home. He typically avails himself of some of the extra services: daily walk, cuddle time, one-on-one play with staff, and meal toppers. They offer these (and more) a la carte, but I wish they would bring back the service packages. The staff are caring, nurturing, and professional. It is clear that they love their job, because they are always smiling. The owner is kind and always welcomes me when she sees me. They send me update emails for a small fee, and those are newsy and fun. I have confidence that my dog is getting first-rate care, and he always returns happy. I love that the dogs "make" a special photo card for their owner on holidays. My husband treasures his Father's Day card from our dog, and I enjoyed the Fourth of July card. I also love the free exit bath after a week's stay -- highly worth it. I typically schedule grooming then too, and my pup always looks and smells great. I recommend this business. read more

I will not take my 12 year old Westie anyplace but the Dog Stop, for grooming and boarding. Everyone is always pleasant and kind and they keep me informed of what is going on. He loves visiting there, which tells me he is well cared for. Even when he had a "scrape" from some contact with another dog there, and I was out of town, the staff, including Kelly kept me well informed, and even called to check on him after he came home. I also like their attention to detail; when I pick him up from grooming, they have done exactly what I have asked for. I can't say enough about this place. We have been very happy clients for 2+ years now with several visits a week. My dog goes nuts when I ask if he wants to go play. He knows exactly where we are going. Everyone knows him by name and he is so happy to see them while I get left in the dust. LOL. I want I say make sure you are getting what you want before you leave your dog at The Dog Stop. I called to book my dog for a bath, which I was told included a shampoo, massage, nail trim, ear clean, and anal gland expression. I dropped my dog off for the appointment, and came back 2 and half hours later to see my dog had not had his nails trimmed, ear cleaned, or anal glands expressed. When I brought this up, I was told you only were put down for a bath (with a message). So I was charged another $7 on top of my bath fee to get his nails trimmed. I was told to for my next appointment to ask for a Full Service Bath. I said that is what I was told I was getting this time I did not. To say I was disappointed is an understatement! read more
