I used Happy Camper for several years and my pup always seemed very happy to go. One day last year…read morewhen I picked him up he was limping. I figured he'd just played too hard. That was a $700 sprain, after x rays and treatment. But recently I took him in for a few hours while I had some workmen at my house. When I picked him up he was wet. The owner was there and I mentioned how wet he was. He just blew me off and didn't give me much of a reason why the dog was so wet. Once I got him home I noticed that he had two spots on his head that were bleeding. This was on a Friday. I treated him and watched him over the weekend. He had a lot of mucus from his right eye. Got him into the vet on Monday. Treated with antibiotics. At this point I went to Happy Camper and asked what the hell happened. The owner told me that my dog was bleeding from his tongue! And the reason he was so wet was because they had to wash all the blood off. I was furious. Why hadn't they told me he was bleeding from his tongue? I got the run around from the owner and no real answers. He asked if "some free daycare would help". No. The truth would help. Telling me that my dog was bleeding at the time would have helped. My dog wasn't getting better and his nostril was full of dry boogers. Took him back to the Vet and he was diagnosed with neurogenic "dry eye", meaning that a superficial nerve above his eye was damaged and right eye and nostril won't produce lubrication EVER again. He will be on 2 kinds of eye drops daily for the rest of his life. Greatly increased risk of corneal abrasions. I suspect that my 25 pound dog was attacked by a bigger dog. I trusted Happy Camper to take care of my baby, but instead he was put in a situation where a bigger dog was able to attack him. I was not told about any of it, which means either no one was watching or they saw and didn't want to admit fault. I am furious. I do not recommend Happy Camper to anyone. They broke my trust and now my sweet little boy has a life long condition. The medications are $100 a month and he hates getting eye drops, which I have to give him twice a day. I will never take him back to Happy Camper.

I used to take my pup here several times a week, despite the high price. I'll say... never again…read more He tells me when he's okay and when I pull up and that tail goes between the legs and the shaking starts, I know something is off. The staff used to be friendly and I was okay to leave him there. The last few times, there's a new guy at reception who basically bit my head off because I went to the back since he was in the back for a good 7 minutes before I went back to get my dog. He's rude and I don't trust my dog with him. They say your dog learns to go indoors but mine always pees like he's been holding it for days when I get him. Now I drive the 20 mins each way to the Dude Ranch and I won't ever take him there again. The video footage is unreliable and mostly I've seen mine sleeping in a corner, when it's working. Some of the staff are awesome and my pup loves them. But not worth dealing with the guy at the front desk who interacts like he's doing you a $30 a day favor. This place was fine before they hired Maren (male Karen). Your business is lost to me.

It's nice because they separate the dogs by size and there are cameras you can check to see how your dog is doing. My puppers is always tired out which is great because he's normally full of energy. But he does come home a little more smelly. Dogtopia runs deals and specials throughout the year so I usually try to catch them if I can.

Don't work here!! The owner of this establishment, Kelley, does not know how to communicate or…read moretreat people with disabilities. My son who has autism was hired here and despite him working hard and sweating with inadequate AC, she fired him before he even finished his 2nd week of training. She does not communicate and pretty much hid from me when I tried to speak with her about my son's hours and when he is expected to get off work since we need to schedule USURV rides and I alternatively drove 2 hours a day to drop him off and pick him up. She told him they work "to the standard", but when you take USURV rides which is a rideshare company for people with disabilities you have to schedule those rides 2 hours in advance. Her "working to the standard" had him getting off over an hour past his shift time which would not work when trying to schedule rides. All I wanted was a little communication to clarify when we could expect him to be off so that I could schedule his rides accordingly. Anyway, on his last day, she let him finish his entire shift and pushed his lunch all the way back to 1 hour before he got off, before firing him. Keeping in mind, the night before he worked 1 to 8, closed and got out over an hour late with still having to be there the next morning at 6:00 a.m. which meant coming from where we live we'd have to get up at 4:30 a.m. Her response to him was "I had to get up at 3:00 sometimes"..Well, she didn't have to get up at 3:00 a.m. the day she fired him. She came in at noon to do that. He tried so hard. He really loves animals and said this job made him feel like he knew who he was and he said the dogs needed him which is why he was so adamant about coming in the next morning with only 5 hours of sleep to be fired unbeknownst to him. A walkie-talkie clip that he was wearing because he didn't have a uniform yet kept falling from his shirt and she told him he would have to pay for it out of his check. I watched her ignore him when he tried to speak with her after he was fired (I didn't know he was fired yet at the time). She completely ignored him. It's already hard enough for a person with autism to communicate especially in difficult situations and she would even acknowledge him. She doesn't have compassion for people with disabilities how can she have it for dogs? I wouldn't drop a dead dog off at this facility. I wouldn't trust a dog in her care. I am so glad my son is gone and he does not have to work with people like that in such an awful place. This was his first job and a horrible first time work experience. I see that other people mention this in their reviews as well and as a lesson learned, I will make sure I read the reviews on future job prospects and their management before I send my child to work there.
