This hot pot place has been on my list for a while especially since I outgrown (more like I can no longer handle AYCE hot pot). My friend and I came here for lunch on Sunday - would recommend making a reservation online but they had a bunch of open spots. They do have AYCE here after 9:30 pm but for the rest of us - they do have individual pots and you can pick either the sets (which include broth, one meat and veggies plus noodles). All the sets were pretty solid and we were really full from ordering the sets. My friend got the pork belly and I got the Beef Short plate and both were good quality meats and the veggies had a good variety and was fresh. You can make your own sauces and they even have a dessert station with jellies, taro balls and toppings. At the end of the meal they ask if we wanted ice cream which was solid. Overall - good vibes and very clean; I left with my hair not smelling like hot pot which is always a plus. We were pretty full and it came out to be around $46 per person including tip and tax which I did not think was bad in my books. Highly recommend checking this place out!

The food I got was a combo deal with wagyu meat and it was good. The wagyu was high quality, and I enjoyed the spicy broth as well. The sauce station was huge, and I accidentally put too many peppers in my sauce so it ended up being really spicy lol. Service was ok. Our server stopped by only a few times and it was short and sweet. The ambiance was really clean, and there was a small wait which wasn't too bad.

A la carte where you order off an ipad, but everyone gets their own pot!! There's a pretty big variety of ingredients to choose from and a sauce bar, dessert bar, and even a little candy station which you dont see often at hot pot. I did find it a lil pricey, but the quality of the ingredients equate to the prices. Pretty big space, but make sure to have a resy bc it was so packed and busy on a weekday. Staff were very attentive and kind, id def come back again:)

I have walked by this restaurant quite a few times. When my little said he wanted ramen I decided to check it out. I was super intrigued about the fact that they cater to those who only eat Halal. While I am Muslim, I am not so rigid with Halal but it was awesome to have that option. I have never been to a hotplate restaurant. I didn't have a reservation but they were able to get me in pretty quickly. The staff was attentive and showed me the ropes. They had fresh fruit juices. The ambiance was comfortable for dining. Not to loud. My little enjoyed himself. Food was tasty.

Busy on a Saturday evening but for good reason - excellent hotpot! We had a reservation through Yelp but it might've just been that thing where it holds a place in line for you? We arrived on-time and waited another maybe 5 mins for our table. No biggie. I really love that each person gets their own soup pot. Makes it much easier when you've got a variety of spice levels to deal with. Everything we got was fresh and good quality. The restaurant space itself is very nice and modern feeling. Pretty large with a variety of table spaces and sizes. Everyone we interacted with was friendly. Service was good and they were pretty busy but it was only felt in my drink being delayed from the bar (placed before we ordered any food but showed up only after food arrived. Husband's beer arrived super fast though fwiw) My only gripe is the menu on the iPad thing - there are no descriptions of anything (including cocktails). We kept trying to click stuff on the iPad to see the description, but it was adding it to the cart. It would be great if there were descriptions, so you could see more detail about each item before you order (at least for the cocktails). We ate à la carte but the AYCE was starting while we were there and it looked pretty dope. Lots of good stuff laid out in large qty. All in all we will probably add this to our hotpot restaurant list and will return again.

It's pricy, but you can taste the quality of the meats and other ingredients. The lamb and beef cuts are so tender and marinated well that I don't even add any of the other sauces. The make a house sauce at the table, but the self-serve sauce bar has a bunch of the classic sauces, along with some fun snacks (kimchi, seaweed, prawn chips, taro balls, etc.) I really liked the chewy mochi texture of the taro balls. They all serve some complimentary chicken portions. The fish tofu, Napa cabbage, udon noodles, and Wagyu scallion pancake were all great as well. I'm also obsessed with the complimentary soft serve at the end--I don't normally like soft serve, but the milkiness of this one and the cone really hits the spot! I like how everyone gets their own small pot and can choose their individual broth. We walked in for three people at 6:15 on a Saturday (after calling ahead), but it was pretty busy by the time we left.

Hot pot dinner with friends is just what we needed for a cold evening to warm up. Make sure to make reservations as The Dolar Shop does get quick busy. We had 6 people so we made sure to get there on time. They gave us a table to order - drinks of course came first then we decided on food. They have an all day happy hour menu. For food, each person had to decide on the base broth and we decided on toppings Then selection of proteins and veggies we wanted.... Also, what type of noodles one wanted as well.. decisions decisions. Once all was placed, our server would confirm then start bring out the food for us to cook. Ribeye was good...of course. Yes, it is a bit pricey though when you add it all up. All the sauces and additional toppings and desserts were in the back. this included instructions on how to make your own panda ice jelly. So make sure to leave room for dessert. Be careful as you cook as the temperature of the pot does steam up and they do bring water to continue to cook. Pro tip - don't wear your finest clothes as you will smell like hot pot when you leave. The location is a few blocks from the train station so there is a bit of a walk depending where you come from. Overall food and service were good and very filling. Good for a cold nite out to warm one up.

This place is overpriced à la carte, but cheaper with an ordered set. We did not want to order an individual set because we are not very hungry and do not want to waste food. It is just ridiculous that the soup base costs $9.99; it is considered bland, especially the tomato soup paste. The beef short rib was soft; it melted in your mouth. The only thing that is worth the price. The mocktail/cocktail is not worth the price. Customer service was so so, I got blamed when the tablet was below 10% battery, and by the time I wanted to pay, the tablet was dead. There is a CC processing fee if you use a credit card. Just a heads up.

Let's start off 2026 with a review on the best meal we had on our nyc trip. Individual set meals with unlimited refills on udon noodles. Udon noodles are basically what my kids would only eat at hot pot places anyways so it was an amazing deal for us (The usual place we go to back in LA charges $3 per small bowl of udons to cook.). In addition, they have a full bar of snacks, sweets, and make your own dessert soup. Did I mention they are super kid friendly? Our server, before we even got our menu, already handing out little toys to my kids. Totally won all of us over before we even see food on the table. Loved the foods, service, ambiance - everything about this place!

I love Dolar Shop! I have been going here for years now. The broths are delicious, the service is phenomenal, and the inside is very modern and bright!

I've been wanting to come here for a while, but since it's not in our neighborhood, we only really remember it when we happen to be nearby. The first time we tried, they told us they had no availability even though we could see several open tables. We didn't argue or make a scene, just left and didn't come back for a long time. Recently a friend told me they're actually very good, so we decided to give them another chance. We arrived around 12:05 on a random Tuesday. They were still setting up, so we waited about 5-10 minutes and then were seated. As first timers, we got a quick intro to the menu. You can order individual sets or a la carte from the iPad. What we didn't realize is that the individual pots can have two broths, which is something usually reserved for larger shared pots. That was a very pleasant surprise and definitely a plus for a future visit. The sauce station in the back wasn't as extensive as some AYCE places, but everything was noticeably fresher. Our individual sets turned out to be the perfect amount of food and included a little bit of everything we would have ordered anyway. I mistakenly ordered extra spam, not realizing the set already came with it. It was good, but we didn't need the extra food and ended up having trouble finishing it. The creamy pork broth was rich and flavorful, and all of the ingredients were super fresh. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. At the end they offer vanilla soft serve in a sugar cone, which was a nice way to finish. The price was cheaper than the AYCE spots, and we left just as satisfied. If anything, the food quality and broth flavor here were better. We'll definitely be back.

Amazing hot pot experience. You pick your own broth base and then choice of meats + veggies. The broth didn't take that long to heat and everything came out so quickly. When we saw the topping bar we were flabbergasted... unlimited delicious toppings for sauces & little dessert-y things like lychee bubbles and even fruit. It was heavenly. So nice to have an opportunity to try some new flavors. Place was large and clean and all I could think about was how I wanted to bring all my friends there.

    Jennifer G.

I loved how everything was set up and tasted! It truly felt like a premium hot pot experience. The pork broth was fantastic and you can season it with as much or as little as you'd like. The meats were delicious and at the end of it all we were happy and full. The service was impeccable as well. Any questions we had the server was there to help us, he was very patient and recommended the best choices! The ambience was also 10/10 it's very clean, lost of family and friends of all ages were there and I will go as far as to say the other customers were super nice as well hahaha anyways I'll be back when in the area again. Check em out!

Added a screenshot in case the owner doubles down that it was 15 mins. Guess the first call was from the delivery driver, and the second was from the restaurant itself. ‍ But the really disappointing part is that they didn't pack any soup separate from the noodles! - So my chicken dumpling noodle soup basically had no soup - don't know if they forgot it or if it was absorbed by the noodles but most restaurants at this point know to pack the broth and the noodles separately,- so I ended up having to add some of my own vegetable broth, which totally was not the flavor I was hoping for. So - love the food, but delivery service leaves a lot to be desired - next time I'll try giving instructions to pack the soup separate from the noodles and see if that helps!
