Pretty solid for a la carte hot pot. The service was pretty good and I really enjoyed their sauce bar.

Overall a good meal. Pork rib broth was rich and flavorful. We didn't feel like having spicy and it was nice to have this. The food options were good but I did feel that should have been more options for fish balls like most other places...no regular fishballs, no cuttlefish balls, no fuzhou style meat stuffed fishballs. Only fish ball with roe, which were good. Veggie selection was solid, good choices available. Meat selection also solid, good variety to choose from in different price ranges. The only thing I will say that was extremely surprising and disappointing is that they charged close to $3pp for the sauce station. I have never been to a hotpot place that does this. Mixing the sauce is part of the experience and meal.

The 3 types of broth is the perfect choice if you have a big party and I really liked the mushroom broth, pork rib broth, and house special chili broth. They all soaked in flavor to the raw meats, seafood, and veggies! Definitely give them a follow on Instagram so you can get a free drink (while promo/supplies last) and try some of their yummy hot appetizers. Service was quick and excellent and the space is so nice and big! They also have a good selection of sauces to create your own dipping sauce, snacks, and dessert to choose from.

A pretty decent hot pot spot in the city! Located near Union Square, this hotpot spot offers great Chinese hot pot. Service here is pretty good and we were fortunately able to grab a table on a Saturday for a dinner without a wait. We got a variety of meats and veggies and everything was pretty good! Their spicy broth was SUPER spicy though, so be warned. Their sauce bar was also pretty solid, clean, and well-stocked. Would come back for hot pot if I'm in the area.

I think this location in Manhattan opened relatively recently :0 There's usually a pretty long queue at the branch in Flushing, so I was relieved when my friend and I were quoted ~5-10 minute wait time when we got there around 6:30 on a weekday. For the soup base broth you can choose a pot with 1/2/3 "options" (e.g. different broths), and it was very funny to us that the 1-broth pot costs more than the 2-broth option but less than the 3-broth one?? maybe someone can explain what the pricing logic is here haha We opted for the two-broth pot with pork rib and tomato, and they were both sooo good! Honestly the pork rib broth was one of the highlights of the meal; it was so fragrant and not too salty that we drank a lot of it at the end of our meal. Delicious Despite being one of the cheaper options, the "premium beef slices" (精品肥牛) were our favourite meat option. Other than that, we loved the sweet potato noodles (ended up getting a few orders of this after scarfing them down super quickly). Veggies were fresh and tasty across the board. I also really liked the ice cream at the end of the meal hehe, and the sauce bar w some sweet desserts was also a nice touch to round everything out. Even though we were both quite full, dessert goes into a separate stomach so we still enjoyed some jelly on top of the ice cream. Overall price point was solid! Definitely not cheap, but I think the quality and quantity of the food make the cost worthwhile, and I think had we come with even more people it would have been even more reasonable (IMO hot pot gets much more efficient with larger groups of people). I'd definitely come again (if just for the delicious pork broth!)

So huge and trendy and fun. Great staff. Quality ingredients. The snack, dessert, sauce station awesome. Oyr mini hot pots are actually gigantic and worth it. My spicy broth was perfect. We also got bone broth. We added veggies. The fried pork delicious with powdered dip. The watermelon juice was fresh and scrumptious. Also the brown bobba rice cakes yummy. Get the housenade noodles .

I was totally impressed by the luxurious line-up of premium meats and seafood. From A5 wagyu to miyazaki wagyu, and abalone to scallops, all the ingredients are fresh and top graded. While there are so many hot pot spots in NYC, I found Shoo Loong Kan is not like the other chains. The restaurant is exceptionally clean, bright and modern. Their service is 100% attentive and caring. There is a storage space under your chair to keep the hot pot smell out of your belongings and coats (so thankful for this design). Aprons are also provided. Conveniently located only 5 minutes away from Union Square, Shoo Loong Kan brings authentic Szechuan flavors to the city. Our favorites: *A5 Wagyu Beef Shoulder A5和牛嫩肩** The A5 wagyu beef has beautiful marbling and was decently cut into thin slices. It literally melted in my mouth with a burst of rich buttery flavor. *Handmade Beef Ball 手工牛肉丸*** Their beef balls were surprisingly my favorite. Unlike the typical store bought ones, they tasted fresh, bouncy and meaty. *Fresh Scallops 冰鮮貝柱** Scallops were fresh with a hint of lemon-y flavor. It was super smooth and tender after cooked. *Shrimp Paste 手打蝦滑* Their housemade shrimp paste with fish roe was a fantastic addition to the hot pot. An elevated version of premade smashed shrimp balls. *Chinese Black Sesame Donut w. Mochi*** These Chinese donuts are basically deep fried donuts filled with mochi and sprinkled with black sesame. Be sure to enjoy them when they are still warm--the fried dough is soft while the mochi is stretchy. 10/10 dessert!! Broth: *House Special Chili Broth 招牌紅鍋 SUPER SPICY. Don't order unless you're very confident of your spice tolerance... *Tomato Broth 蕃茄鍋* Very rich and thick tomato soup. Actual tomatoes were added to the broth. *Pork Rib Broth 排骨鍋* Highly recommend this broth for non-spice eaters. It is so flavorful and matches any ingredients. We even found a giant piece of pork rib in our soup!

My favorite hotpot restaurant is open in Manhattan now!! I regularly traveled from the city to the flushing location, so I'm glad there is one closer now. I wish their hours were longer like the flushing location Will definitely be back!

I like this location better than Flushing. The restaurant is well ventilated and doesn't have strong hotpot smell. Food was delicious. Service was very good. Happy with everything

Shoo Loong Kan's Flushing location is a go-to, so I had to check out their Manhattan spot! The tomato and pork bone broths were rich and comforting, and the A5 Wagyu was a standout (tender and buttery). With a fully stocked sauce station, wide selection of ingredients, attentive service, and solid portions, it's a hot pot experience worth trying.

Things you can get with loyalty points

Very interesting, exciting atmosphere. I wish we were given a rundown of how things work here when we first are instead of being left to figure out with the iPad. There are all these things you can get with loyalty points (ingredients and even electronics), but we Couldn't get a sense of how to sign up or how any of it works. We didn't know there was a sauce station that is $2.99 per person and unlimited until after I used the bathroom, I came out and saw the station and asked about it. For $19.99 you can get one, two or three kinds of broths. After ordering on the iPad, the ingredients came out extremely quickly, Followed by the broths. Our favorite was the pork rib broth Which had dates and goji. It was excellent and had a lot of flavor. The mushroom broth was good, saltier and not as nuanced as pork rib. We also got the spicy broth (mild) And it was crazy hot. We asked if we were given a spicier version by accident, but the waitress said that was the mild. She was very nice and scooped out the peppers and added more broth to water it down for us. The ingredients were fresh and good. And the sauces were good too. Liked that they offered grass jelly and fruits. After tax and tip we spent a little more than $50 per person for a two person party. We were full. And they gave us Hershey ice cream after.

Great food, great people. Very fresh and good for loud kids. It's very spicy so Anglo saxons should beware.

This AYCE hotpot and BBQ spot in Midtown is a great casual spot for dinner with friends. For their…read moredinner menu, you can do AYCE hotpot and bbq for ~$43pp, which also includes appetizers and some drinks. For alcoholic drinks, such as soju and beer, you can add ~$7pp for AYCD. The tables are spacious and the place is bright. We ordered a variety of meats and veggies for hotpot and bbq and it was alright. The hot pot is definitely better than the bbq as the meat quality was too fatty for bbq. Moreover, because they don't change the grills, the oils from the meat just pool onto the grill and the meats get really oily to eat after a while. We also got the fried chicken, spring rolls, and fried buns apps and I thought that the chicken and buns were good but the spring rolls were okay. The only thing I would have to say is that the service isn't the best. Although they are kind, half of the things we ordered never arrived or we had to constantly ask them to bring it out/check on our order.

I loved this place!…read more I came here on a late Friday night, probably around 8pm and was glad that they were still opened. We were greeted very welcomely and was seated right away. It was unusually cold in NY during this time (5/23/25) and initially we were seated by the door where we would catch the cold draft every time the door opened. We asked if we can switch seats and the waiter was more than helpful. I feel bad for not getting his name, because he was very helpful throughout the entire dinner service, but, I've been walking around in the cold all day and the only thing that was on my mind at that time, was a nice warm meal. I've done a lot of Chinese hotpots and this was the first that we get the soup and grill without a price difference. The selections were typical, some may say less than other places, but, I felt that less was better. When there is too much to chose from, you don't know what to pick or pick too much. The one thing that I did missed was fresh tofu. They had a variety of tofu but not fresh tofu. But, I probably shouldn't waste my stomach space on tofu for and AYCE, anyway, lol! We opt for an non-spicy and a spicy soup base. If you are like me and do not like mala (numbing spice), I would not recommend getting a spicy soup base. Even my cousin, that does like mala, said it was a little overbearing after a while. If you do love spicy, like me, they have a condiment station to make your own sauce and have several chili options to chose from that is not numbing spice. For the price and selections, I feel that it was very satisfying. I really enjoyed their homemade peach and kumquat lemon tea; but, order fast because once it's gone, you are out of luck! The place was clean and the noise level was average. I think this is the best Chinese hotpot place that I have experienced in USA and would definitely go back!

We arrived on-time and waited another maybe 5 mins for our table. No biggie. I really love that each person gets their own soup pot. Makes it much easier when you've got a variety of spice levels to deal with. Everything we got was fresh and good quality. The restaurant space itself is very nice and modern feeling. Pretty large with a variety of table spaces and sizes. Everyone we interacted with was friendly. Service was good and they were pretty busy but it was only felt in my drink being delayed from the bar (placed before we ordered any food but showed up only after food arrived. Husband's beer arrived super fast though fwiw) My only gripe is the menu on the iPad thing - there are no descriptions of anything (including cocktails). We kept trying to click stuff on the iPad to see the description, but it was adding it to the cart. It would be great if there were descriptions, so you could see more detail about each item before you order (at least for the cocktails). We ate à la carte but the AYCE was starting while we were there and it looked pretty dope. Lots of good stuff laid out in large qty. All in all we will probably add this to our hotpot restaurant list and will return again.
