One of the better donut shops in the area which are few and far between. Only donut I have gotten is the white icing and sprinkles. Very tasty and fresh. Haven't tried anything else because these are good enough! Wish they had vanilla iced sprinkle donuts! read more

This place is fantastic! Donuts are delicious - they range from classic to fun and creative. My kid said it's a culinary wonder. The staff is very friendly and it's fun to eat there. They have savory options like biscuits and gravy or burritos for those who don't want something sweet. read more

Under previous ownership, I was a straight up evangelist for this place. It's not that close to my house, but I raved about it every time donuts came up in conversation, and we would make the journey frequently to enjoy their traditional but amazing treats. But this is no longer the case. The donuts have gone from hall-of-fame great to above average at best and downright mediocre at times. And, to pile on to the disappointment, they bake way fewer donuts every day and seem to always be under-supplied. Last time I visited (at only 9:00am), they were out of old-fashioned, sugar raised, and a few others that are in my normal rotation. Old ownership always had a case chock full of everything, well into the morning. I genuinely wish these new owners all the best, and I will keep checking back periodically to see if things have improved. They took over in the months prior to COVID, so I'm sure the road hasn't been easy. I'm hoping this is just some temporary disappointment before things are restored to their former glory. But at the moment they're dropping the ball. read more

We moved to the area within the last year and love The Donut. Walking distance and fantastic donuts. We've had the donut holes, bear claw, apple fritter, jelly donut, and chocolate covered. All delicious! They've adapted well to the COVID stuff, too. read more

I hadn't been to the Donut in months and when I returned last week, they appeared to be under new ownership. The new manager or owner was not at all friendly and the donuts weren't good at all. They used to have some of the best donuts around. I'm super sad about this. Hopefully things improve quickly. read more

Okay so this is hard to review. Previous owner was a GEM!!! A sweetheart. Loved her. Miss her. BEST cake donuts ever. She'd remember my name even though I'd only come in 6-12 times a year. Prob because of the amount of cake donuts I purchased. I went in today and didn't realize the new ownership. Positives: Fresh new look, burrito option, glazed donut was actually pretty great... donut holes option (didn't get any, but we love) Not So Positive: Cake donut didn't taste the same (no!!!!), they ran out of chocolate milk????? Wait?? How?? Never has that happened there before. It's a must for a kid. Lastly... new owner, well. Not so friendly to be quite honest. I was curious about the details of the switch and she wasn't too excited to share. I was just a curious customer... she just wasn't nice to be frank. I hope this isn't a sign of what's to come. I used to consider this to be the best donut shop in Denver, but since the new owner took over, things have been slipping. I keep stopping by in hopes that it's just a hiccup but I'm down to maybe giving them one more try. The long johns were my favorite but they no longer seem fried, no crispy edges anymore and now, today they looked about half as big as they used to. I found myself on the hook for the donuts for an early morning meeting and after looking at reviews for doughnut places near my hotel I came across this one. Surprisingly empty for a 0730 in the morning I was worried I made a bad decision and had no time to correct it. The people working behind the counter were very welcoming and I ended up getting 2 dozen donuts to go. They quickly had them ready for me and even threw in an extra for free. By far hands down best donuts in town. Stay away from the chains when you can buy from a locally owned shop. Always fresh, excellent selection and very friendly owner and staff. I had the best Apple fritter I've ever had, so delicious. I ask for a lemon filled and the owner said I'll make you one, went into the back filled me with lots a lemon and came back out with a smile. I love this place! I'm personally more of a fan of your less crazy, non-Voodoo type donuts and this place definitely hits the spot. They have everything from old-fashioneds, maple bars, cinnamon rolls, bear claws + your regular flavored/frosted donuts. So this place is definitely your local donut shop. No frills or mass marketing here (good thing). That being said, one would expect a much friendlier business. When greeted, it felt sort of like I was on that old Seinfeld episode with the Soup Nazi. While there was no one else around, you would've thought there was a crowd. I went to this family-owned restaurant/bakery a while back, and then stopped in again today for some gyro fun for lunch. They have a basic Greek lunch menu including gyros (chicken or beef) and falafels. The first thing I noticed when entering was the smell of sweet, fried donuts. The lunch here is OK. You do get a big portion on your gyros, especially if you get all the veggies. The fries are seasoned with both salt and pepper. Overall, I'd give the gyro 3 stars, but the extra star is for the donut that's included in the combo. You can have your krispy kreme, mass produced donut, while I munch on the donuts here. Yes, I said it, the donuts here are better than Krispy Kreme. They may be a bit more expensive as the initial reviewer said, but they're also bigger and I like to support local business instead of gigantic corporations. read more

This place is the real deal as far as donuts go. It is a family-run establishment and the service is friendly and fast. They always have a large selection of donuts which all look good (and taste good from what I've had). The cream-filled donuts are amazing - they don't skimp on the cream at all. Good donuts. My favorites were the bavarian filled long john and the bear claw. The fruit flavored doughnuts( cherry and blueberry doughnut) had an artificial aftertaste I didn't really care for. Please stop changing so much of a business that was a staple in the community for so many years. My kids LOVE the sprinkle donuts and how they hardly have sprinkles, the staple good things were sold out by 9:30 on a Saturday which isn't normal. Too much has changed and it's a big disappointment. Donuts are something I only splurge on occasionally, but I was very glad I chose to today! We had family in town and decided to check out The Donut as a treat. I first loved that the location was so convenient (only a 3 minute drive from our house), but was extra impressed with the selection and quality packed into this little shop. It is clear that he owner loves and takes pride in what he does. He was very helpful as I was trying to decide which donuts to choose for my dozen, something I always need help with. The donuts were baked perfectly and I really enjoyed the blueberry cake donut (that is the only one I have tried so far). My husband enjoyed his fritter as well. Definitely check this place out, we will be back every time we have guests in town at the very least, but I'm sure even more often than that! read more

This has always been my favorite donut spot and have been frequenting this business weekly for decades. Unfortunately, the quality has really gone down hill recently now that it's under new ownership. I've found that more times than not, they're out of donuts early in the morning and the donuts we picked up last weekend were over fried, uneven, hard and lacked adequate frosting. We ended up dumping the entire box. I really wish the new owners the best and I hope to give it another shot in a couple months, but I'm done for now. read more
