The price on their page needs to get raised from one $ to three $$$. Don't look at the website prices 'cause those are different than what is posted in store. I spent $23 & change on 6 donuts and a bag of donut holes. I have never spent so much money on donuts. Shame on me for not looking up at the very tiny menu and tiny price tags behind the cashier, I definitely did notice after they got rang up though. They get a 3, as I can't give 2.5...I review donuts every place I travel with my kids for sports and get the same thing raised maple and apple fritter. The raised maple was just to heavy for me to give it high stars it needs to be lighter. The apple fritter had to much glaze on it. read more

Decided to try a breakfast burrito today, and the fact that someone knowingly wrapped and bagged this and said, "This is $5 worth of a breakfast burrito!" Is insulting, and makes me not want to do business with them anymore. It was scantly filled, had no cheese in it to speak of, was really small, and ice-cold. I honestly feel this was made at least the night before, and pulled out of a fridge and bagged before it was picked up. We've been in 4 times now and have had great experiences every time. They remind me of the soft homemade donuts I grew up with, not the typical dense DD or KK stuff. This "mom and pop shop" is super clean, well-displayed, easy to access, and the staff is very friendly. A little pricey, but what do you expect with mom and pop shops trying to survive with rent here? We'll support local! I bought a dozen for my unit a couple of times. Being in uniform, Victoria threw in a bag of donut holes for the troops as a thank you. She told me it was her family's business; they are very kind people. The third time we stopped by was on the way to our kids' adoption hearing as a little bit of a pre-celebration...having 5 kids between 3-8 who have trauma and/or special needs, and not going to school/work that day, this mama was a bit frazzled. After paying, I managed to take the box over to the coffee station to get my husband's coffee and left. About 5 minutes up I-25 in rush hour traffic, I realized I didn't have my wallet with my work credentials or my phone. I called the store and Victoria answered and stated she had tried to chase us out of the parking lot and now had them safe in the back. We did not have time to turn around before our court hearing across the metro, nor could we get back before they closed. She gave me her personal cell and told us to call when we were on our way back and met us at the store after hours to return them! How's that for customer service?!!? This weekend, my husband stopped in and told Victoria thank you. He joked that I wasn't allowed in this time and that we were celebrating my bday with not making breakfast for the kids. Stopped in on a Saturday morning with my son for a quick treat while in the area. Cute shop with fun decor and nice staff. Very clean. Donut selection was good even at 10am. There are some unique donuts in addition to macrons, which I need to try next time. My apple fritter was very good- moist and filled with chunks and had a a nice crisp shell. Is $28+ normal for 13 regular/not filled donuts now? I kinda think it is and I'm not sure what I think of this. The location is easily accessible. There's plenty of parking. The staff was polite but not really helpful beyond tossing the donuts in the box. I stopped in to grab some donuts for an early morning event I was attending and they had plenty, but they weren't very exciting. Mostly just chocolate, vanilla and maple. Raised or cake. I was either hoping for some special options at that price point or a lower price point for standard donuts. Don't waste your time, this place is terrible. Way overpriced, and the donuts taste terrible. I paid almost $20 for 7 donuts, and then she only put 6 donuts in! I was missing a donut, which of course was the one donut my daughter asked for. When I went back 5 minutes later, they looked at me like I was crazy and was just looking for handouts or something. My wife and I travel and try donuts every place we visit. We were ecstatic to give Castle Rock donuts a try! The short story on 3 stars: we're basing the rating on the donuts. You'll see our overall breakdown of the experience below. The restaurant: Very clean, tidy, and friendly staff. The beauty of a local donut shop is the old color schemes, huge glass case, and variety of donuts. Overall, this was a 5 star experience! The Donuts: we ordered 4 donuts. 3 were normal orders for us, 1 was a wild card. Glazed Old Fashioned: This, in our opinion, should be the flagship product of any donut shop. We have high hopes every time we try a new one. It was underwhelming. The glaze was overly sweet and grainy. The donut itself lacked the crunchy outside. Overall, we gave it a 2 out of 5. Blueberry Cake Donut: the blueberry flavor was amazing! A bit doughy however and lacked any outer crunch. Glaze was not nearly as sweet as the old fashioned. Overall, 3.5. Apple Fritter: Not the worst fritter but in short, it was glazed cinnamon bread. Had the crust and texture of dense bread and the glaze was fine. Overall, 2. Cronut (wild card): The winner of the day! A little sweet but I couldn't complain because the donut itself had all of the elements. Perfect crunch on the outside, flaky croissant, perfect glaze. I am glad I ignored the negative comments. I found this donut shop to be clean and the young lady behind the counter to be extremely helpful. I got there a bit later in the day, but everything still tasted fresh. These donuts are very, very good. It is a great dough (not to heavy and not too airy). The pinecones are AWESOME! Yes, donuts are more expensive now - at independent shops.... given the rent, the time required to make donuts (prior to the crack of dawn) - but they are so far superior to the donuts you can find in the grocery stores. Two... At best I ordered a small cruler looking cake donut, and something that was supposed to be a croissant donut a "cronut"..... That had absolutely nothing in common with a croissant, :-(......It was just a big square donut , and all of their donuts seem to have an excessive amount of glaze. And the total for these two donuts was $7.50.....! I realize that everything is getting more expensive due to shipping costs and supplies. But if a small shop has to charge $7.50 for two donuts , I don't anticipating them being a business that much longer, they're just donuts. read more
