Went in at 9:30 on a weekday and asked for a dozen and a half glazed donuts. Owner would not sell me a dozen and a half. She tried to get me to buy some cake donuts. He reason for not selling me a dozen and a half? She said that "these are all I have and I have to be here until 1:00." I politely said "ok, thanks...I'm good," started to leave the store and she said "Fine, you don't know what you're missing." Weirdest interaction I've ever had. What a nice surprise! I hadn't been in for a long time, so was surprised to find it under new ownership. It has a new, sunnier, look and the folks working there were very friendly. I'm also happy to report that the donuts are just as good as they used to be, with just as many varieties as before if not more. I'm talking a big variety here. I particularly liked the apple fritter, which was perhaps the best I've ever had -- with the perfect amount of fried crispiness with the glaze not overdone, and the inside with just the right of amount of dough to apple cooked perfectly. I noticed they offer kolaches on weekends, so I thought I'd try one and was happy I did. Essentially a giant pig-in-a-blanket, it was a jalapeno cheese dog wrapped in a dough, then baked. Crispy on the outside with a not-too-thick dough enveloping a really flavorful dog. Very nice, and actually tasty for breakfast! Nice job all around. I will be going back.... frequently. read more

Worth the trip! I've been looking for exactly this. A very good donut. Cake donuts are thick but not too heavy. The chocolate has a real cocoa flavor. The app poke filled has a crunchy typing and isn't overpoweringly sweet. I WILL be back! read more

This is a small family run business. I have known the owners for about 10 years now on a business / semi-personal level and they are really great people. Along with the donuts being the best around, they also serve lunch items; mostly Greek food. Both the donuts and the gyros are huge, fresh and delicious. The french fries are specially seasoned. The donuts are a tad more than what you would pay at the grocery store but are well worth it. The lunch items are competitively priced. Maybe one of the reasons I like this place as much as I do aside from the food are the people. I strongly believe in supporting good service. Too many times we go to places and receive horrible service; yet for some reason we continue to go back. After reading some of the reviews I decided to check this place out. I picked up a bear claw and cinnamon roll. These were two of the best donuts I've ever had. I've been going to the Donut since I was in high school. This place used to be a Winchells and the interior hasn't been updated since the change. The donuts are delicious and the best I've ever had. The interior of the place needs to be redone, as it looks very 1970s. read more

I've been buying donuts from Eddie for nearly 30 years. I used to have my office across the street from his shop and would walk over to get a twist a couple times a week. A few years later I moved the office some distance away, however, I still make a point of going to buy donuts from him. They are simply the best. I stopped in today to get donuts for work. I needed 36 and knew it was a lot. The seemed fine with the amount until I started giving amounts. I was told I could not have may maple ok lets go with more glazed. Then i was told i was getting a lot of glazed. I asked for a couple sprinkled and was asked if I was getting them for kids or the adults. It was very disappointing as our family goes here on weekends and I wanted to give the small business my business. I will go elsewhere next time since it was inconvenient. I've only been here once (for coffee & donuts) but the experience was great so I'm sure I"ll be back. The Donut is a little local place close by my house. They are currently celebrating their 20 yr anniversary and I can see why. The family that owns and operates this shop is very warm and friendly. They are willing to answer any questions your have on their large variety of donuts and don't rush you if you are like me -a kid in well a donut shop, looking wide eyed at each freshly made treat. I opted for one of their apple fritters and Mmm was it ever so tasty. The coffee is also very good there and doesn't taste mass brewed like some donut shops. They also sell lunch items like gyros & fries but I am yet to try them. I am very glad I have found such a yummy donut shop so close to home as nothing beats a lazy Sunday morning w/ a fresh donut, a warm cup of coffee while perusing the Sunday paper! read more
