Our garage door decided to give out completely last week (on my way to work no less). Upon calling numerous companies, one came out and I paid them to close the door deeming it completely inoperable. The company that performed this service was able to get a new door installed ASAP however, their prices were outrageous. Upon calling other companies, the average time frame wound up being 8 - 16 weeks for just the delivery of the door. I got in contact with Cedar Park Overhead Doors who ended up being one of the cheaper companies with just a weeks time for installation. Fast forward to the day of installation: Everything up until this point had been great. Where it went not great: The morning of, I had to call to find out when they would be arriving. I was not provided with any notice the day before or the morning of. As it turns out, I was their first stop. I had to call into work for what was initially only supposed to be a few hours but ended up being the entire day. The technicians arrived around 10:30 AM. Having not dealt with a garage door replacement before, I, like most homeowners, wanted to clarify some concerns ( what exactly was going to be replaced, would they set up my current opener or would I need to do so, time frame to install, etc.). Seeing that this is a service I'm paying for, I did not think that my questions were unwarranted or out of the ordinary. One of the technicians, however, thought otherwise. When I was asking my questions, this particular technician grunted and huffed and responded in a rude and outright irritated manner. Instead of answering my questions (yes, I took notes right after) I was told "dude, I'm here to install a door, not answer a whole bunch of your questions." Taken aback and not wanting to irritate the technician further, I asked again only about the existing opener and if they would be setting this up. The technician very sarcastically laughed and responded in a very condescending manner with "does it make any sense that I would install a new garage door and not set up the opener?" Having dealt with the complete lack of respect, I decided to let the technicians start and went inside. I called my partner who has been in the real estate industry for 12 + years and deals with contractors and vendors day in and day out and relayed this to him as I felt like I may have been in the wrong or asked questions that I suspected (after the response from the technician) every homeowner should know. I was assured that these were normal questions and that the response received was completely unjustified. Obviously upset and irritated, I called the company spoke with the manager on duty, and relayed the situation to him. The manager did apologize and stated this was not okay behavior. I was assured that this would be relayed to the general manager and I would get a call back by the end of the day. Upon completion (still with no call back four hours later), I made the payment and requested a receipt. The same technician that I had dealt with at the start of the process stated it would be emailed to me. I waited roughly five minutes while the technicians cleaned up and started packing. Still, no email. I brought this to the technician's attention and was told it would come through. Roughly ten minutes later, still, no email. I again informed the technician that I had not received the receipt and was told that they "[didn't] have time to wait." Needless to say, it is now nearly 10:30 PM and I still do not have a receipt for the services. I never received a phone call or any sort of follow up and though the door was installed and is working as intended, had I known I would have been treated with such disrespect, I would have paid more and waited longer for a new garage door. If this is how Cedar Park Overhead Doors treats their customers and builds rapport with them on the day of installation, I worry about how I will be treated if I ever need them to come out for repairs or any sort of issues that may arise down the road. What was already a stressful situation was made worse by the manner in which the technician treated me as a customer. If customer service is important to you (especially when making such a large purchase) I highly suggest researching other companies and shopping around. Great price doesn't mean great service. I hope others are treated with more respect and dignity than I was. I do not recommend Cedar Park Overhead Doors and my partner will be referring his clients to other companies as a result of our experience. read more

Garage door sagged and therefore my door would rattle and make a lot of noise. I got a quote from a local place in Round Rock to fix for 300+tax. This included a Strut to reinforce the door + nice rollers. The diagnosis was spot on but i just didn't like the price. I decided to fix it myself by just buying the parts. I bought the exact same strollers I was quoted alone $140 but for $15 via amazon. However, I could not find a place that sold the Strut online + offer to ship, they all said local pickup only (but all were outside of TX). Because of this, I started calling several local places on a Saturday morning hoping one would sell this to me. None answered, but i was able to leave voice mails. Yet none called back except for one (within 5 minutes): Cedar Park Overhead Garage Doors. I spoke over the phone with a very nice lady. She quoted me $25 for the Strut and screws. Great price (online price for strut = $49 + $4 for screws)! I went to pick it up. The receptionist / office staff greeted me very nicely and was incredibly friendly. There was a worker who offered to help place the Strut on the top of my SUV. He brought rope and was actually doing all the work even though he didn't have to. At this point i started to realize this Strut was so long and stuck out both the back and in front of my vehicle too much that it made me a little uncomfortable. At this point a gentlemen by the name of Don pulled up in a company truck. He quickly got out and offered to help secure. He expressed concern that the wind could still blow it away. He asked me how for was i going? I told him i was headed to Round Rock by the Dell Diamond. He said, if you were closer i would drive it to you. I asked him, how much would it take for him to drive it in his truck to my home? He said $15 he would do it but then quickly offered that for $20 total he would also install it. Awesome DEAL! He took about 5 minutes to install and fix the door with the Strut. My door doesn't rattle anymore, it works perfectly! I want to underline that Don never tried to up sell or sell me anything extra. He even gave me tips on how to install the rollers that i ordered from Amazon. I had seen a video on youtube but his suggestion was better. All in all i got the door fixed for less than $50. I saved so much $ from the original quote of $300+ tax that another place gave me. I was blown away by the quick callback, by the friendly office staff, by the positive attitude and willingness to help by the worker at their office, by how cheap everything was, by how professional Don was and how quickly it was resolved, by the honest diagnosis with no pushy up sell of any kind. They truly won me as a customer. I don't really write reviews but i felt compelled to showcase the impressive and and overall excellent experience that I obtained from them. I rarely get treated this way. I appreciate it very much and would highly recommend to anyone to go there without hesitation! read more

The other day, my garage door rollers slipped out of their rails and stopped about half way up. Instinctively, I tried to send the door back down. This was ill advised, as the door started to go down, then stopped, bending the rails and the door. So, there I was, my garage door hanging precariously about a half a foot over my new 2020 vehicle. I propped the door up with a broom handle and got on the phone.... I initially called another concern, and was given an appointment window of 9A-12P. About a half hour or so later, I got a text saying my tech would be arriving between 1P and 6P. I called, and was told the tech that originally had my service call had his truck stolen, and my appointment had to be moved....Uh...okay.... I then called Cedar Park Overhead door. I was given a 9A-12P appointment window. About 9:30A or so, Carlos Cardenas arrived. I expressed my concerns about the door falling on my car, and my now total lack of security. (My neighborhood experienced a home invasion robbery a while back) Carlos quickly assed the situation, replaced a couple of the rollers with longer ones off of his truck, and was able to get the door to go back down. Unfortunately, the door was bent so bad, the opener was now unable electrically free the door from where it was hanging up on the frame of the garage. After talking it over, I decided to replace the door and opener. Carlos called the office and was able to get me on the schedule for Thursday, early am. (This was on a Tuesday) On Thursday about 9:50am, Carlos texted me saying I was his next stop. He arrived about 20 minutes later. Carlos worked like a man possessed for the next three and a half hours, removing the old door, rails, opener, and associated hardware, and installing the new equipment. When he was done, he programmed the new opener into my vehicle's onboard garage opening button, and walked me through the set up of my now WiFi enabled garage door opener. (I can now open or close the door from my phone, who knew?) Just before leaving, he left me his personal cell number, and told me he would be on duty until about six pm, and told me to call him if I needed anything. Dear Carlos's Boss: Buy him lunch. I live in an apartment complex with a 2 car garage attached to my apartment unit. The garage door failed yesterday (4/7/2020). Leasing office called the same day. Onsite maintenance dispatched to see what the issue was. They said it was likely the spring broken and that they would be out tomorrow to fix. 4/8/2020: Maintenance arrive at 10:45 AM. Lots of banging heard. 12:30 PM: Maintenance gone. Garage door still not working. 4:35 PM: Leasing office calls to advise that a garage door tech is coming out to figure out the problem. 5:01 PM: Thomas arrives from Cedar Park Overhead Doors. Explain the issues to Thomas and he advises it should take about 30 minutes or so to correct all the issues explained to him. He gets to work. Only the sound of an impact drill. Then some light banging. Then more impact drill sounds. Then a can of spray being heard. I go out to watch a bit. Thomas takes the time to explain exactly what is going on and what he is doing and how exactly it will correct the described issues. He works. He finishes the work. We both test the garage door. It LITERALLY sounds like a new door (Still looks OLD and a bit sad, BUT that is NOT Thomas' fault). He then checks the safety sensors and repositions them. We test again. System works great. He explains exactly why he repositioned them. I thanked him very much and he left. Total time was 44 minutes. We received prompt and excellent service today from Cedar Park Overhead Doors and their technician Cantrell Gaines that we so greatly appreciate!! This morning my husband went to leave the house only to discover that the large spring over our garage door had broken in two and the garage door would not open. We tried but could not lift the door open ourselves (we are in our 60s/70s) and our cars were trapped inside the garage and of course we had multiple appointments today and tomorrow (including important doctor visits) so were desperate to get our garage door fixed asap. Cedar Park Overhead Doors was highly responsive/understanding and within about 2 hours we had new springs installed/lubricated, the garage door motor checked, our cars accessible again, and all fixed!! Cantrell, the Technician, was prompt, professional, courteous, efficient, knowledgeable, and helpful, not to mention tall and strong enough to lift and hold the garage door open all by himself, which amazed me! He also let us know what type of garage door lubricant to buy, and clearly explained where and how often to spray the springs and other garage door components, etc., to help maintain it moving forward. Cedar Park Overhead Doors also apparently has a lifetime warranty on springs they install for as long as we live in our home - an awesome bonus should we ever need it. The one thing in life that gives me so much joy is to be able to write a review on Excellent Customer Service! My husband had Cedar Park Overhead Doors out to work on our doors in 2016. I know this because CPOD placed a sticker on the garage wall with the information. I am thankful for that as my husband passed away in 2017. He always handled things like that, so it didn't cross my mind to have someone check it out until I noticed the sticker. I called to set up an appointment. It was so easy, and the gentleman set up the appointment for that same day. As promised the technician called me when he was headed my way and told me how many minutes it would take for arrival. Low and behold he was right on the dot! In walks Christian Spofford, my technician! Now I don't know anything about garage doors except they go up and down. Christian gladly explained everything to me and included demonstrations. I told him my main concern, which was the main seals on the doors were so old there were spots where the sun shined through. He didn't have the seals on his truck but said he would come back the next day and gave me the time which he did. Hello, A big thank you to Cedar Park Overhead Doors for installing two (2) standard garage doors and the gargae door openers that I purchased seperately. The experience was amazing from start to finish. First, I received a fair quote from Tim but was not sure about when to install the doors. There was no pressure from Tim or anyone esle to buy today etc... A few weeks later I called back and said lets do it and we got the job scheduled. Then Cedar Park Overhead Doors explained how the garage areas need to be prepped and cleared so the installation can happen without any issues. Then Sean ( and a big shout out to Sean ! ) for going above and beyond to take the time to explain some of the options during the installation process. Sean met me 1st thing in the morning before he started and then followed up with final details before finishing up and leaving for the day) . From start to finish the customer actually had a voice in how the doors, trim and remotes were installed. Then the car remotes were programmed on multiple cars etc... and the cleanup was flawless! After my garage door opened three times without being signaled, once in the middle of the night, I called for a technician to come out and investigate the problem. Shelby Palmer arrived on time and with a cordial and knowledgeable attitude began his assessment. He began with a review of his qualifications and it seems Shelby has a passion for garage door openers and has been working with the technology for more than twenty years. He explained in very clear terms the operation of my system and listed many issues that could be causing the "ghosting" of the door opening. But first he asked where my second or spare remote control was. He suggested that the majority of the time this problem involves the "spare" that resides in the back of a junk drawer somewhere. He explained that after getting knocked around in the drawer for few years the circuits begin to randomly send signals. He opened the spare remote control and removed the battery and requested that I monitor the situation for a few days. He seemed confident that the problem had been solved, and I am pleased to report that after ten days of no random garage door opening I am convinced that he is correct. Thank you Shelby Palmer! Alex Kerfin quickly diagnosed the problem and showed me why I needed to replace the opener. He went through replacement options and answered all my questions enabling me to feel confident about my choice of a replacement. Scheduling installation was easy with appointment availability within just a few days. Tom Myers, the installation technician, arrived on time. We reviewed the work to be done and he cleared up any additional questions that I had. Within a short time, I had a new opener, and the garage was cleared of packaging and old parts. Tom went over in detail operation instructions, showing me how opener functions worked. He made sure I understood everything. He also discussed good garage door care that I can do to help with longevity for the door and the opener system. Cedar Park Overhead doors sent out Nate to install a new garage door. I did not need a new motor just the door. I was very impressed with how Nate was very respectful of me and speaking very highly of the owner of Cedar Park Overhead Doors. Nate went out of his way to troubleshoot the motor as I told him the light went off as I drove into my garage or if I walk into the garage the light does come on. Nate took the time to call his support team for advice. Nate said I may need a new board he could send me a quote for the board. I know he saw the look n my face. He then said I'll be right back I'm gonna check one more thing. He went to his truck got out these eye things hooked them directly to the motor. He said awh let me check one thing. Once he found out the eyes apparently were off a little bit. Nate said well you don't need a new board or new eyes, he said sometimes it's just in the eyes. That was extra troubleshooting saved me money. I sure do appreciate it because not everybody takes the extra time with customers. Every single part of the process from inquiring about services, sales process, communication, and installation was seamless and professional. They do an amazing job of making sure your vision comes to reality. Jesse in the sales office walked us through all of our options, even showing us pictures and a drawing of what the final product was going to look like on our exact house! Shawna in the dispatch office did a seamless job communicating and coordinating the install. Ted (the lead technician) and John came to our house on time and were working on the installation for well over 7 hours to make sure everything was done perfectly. Personally I feel you really need to go an extra mile to get 5 out of 5 stars. But in this case, Keith from Cedar Park Overhead Doors definitely deserves it. The past 3 or 4 years we've had on and off problems with our double bay (2 car) garage door. Basically, when it was hot, it worked great, but when it was rainy and cold, our garage door never wanted to go down. Being a do-it-yourselfer, I'd tried a few failed attempts at trying to fix this issue. They ultimately resulted in me cranking up the allowed down force to the max. Previous calls to CP overhead had only partially fixed the issue. But then back in November, with the downforce setting max out, the door was badly damaged. We ordered a new door, but didn't realize there'd be a major color mismatch. Keith came out with the new door and instead of pushing us to pick a different color, he spent a good 2-3 hours drilling, bolting on erector set like reinforcements to the damaged door and finally tuning/tweaking the door adjustments. Maybe it's good that I waited so long to post the review because I'm extremely! pleased that the door has worked flawlessly since then (and on a reasonable down-force setting of 5!). read more
