The BEST gyros I have ever had. The owner and his family are so friendly, kind and provide the best service. The gyros are delicious and they now have a gyro bowl which is exactly how I've been getting it for years. We were walking around Old Town and wanted to get something to eat after a long day at the water park. The gyros were screaming our names and we went in to order a couple of them. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and took our order. The wait was longer than expected. I'm not sure if it was because the guy behind the counter was taking orders as well as cooking. I'm not sure if he was the only one that was working and doing it all. It's a lot to take on for one person. I got a standard gyro plain with tzatziki sauce. It was wrapped in a pita bread and it was delicious. I couldn't finish all of it since it was so much. Hopefully, it was short staffed the time we went and it's not like that most of the time. read more

Coming from Colorado and moving to Florida to be closer to our son and family they took us to Downtown Deli and as they had loved it we did too!! Very friendly and lovely restaurant with such delicious and amazing food!! I don't know what to rate this place. I stalked the downtown deli on Yelp, google and trip advisor before I decided "I need to try the gyro!!!" I drove through all that darn traffic, walked through the hot sun for 20 minutes looking for the place to get there and they were closed :( it was Wednesday may 18 at about 11:45. First off, this place didn't have the look of a nicer restaurant; however, I was pleasantly surprised!! The owner was working solo and it's spring break...the wait was a bit long--so worth it. He had samples of the pita with seasoning that was so good, we had to wait. Huge portions and delicious. The traditional gyro was so good!! read more

We stopped in because I wanted a real slush puppies, not any of those knock offs. So me and the wife start chatting with the owner and his wife. He gives us both sample of his gyro meat for sandwiches. BOOM that stuff was awesome. As he making our meals he says I make a special hot sauce to go with it. THIS STUFF WAS AWESOMELY PERFECT!!! Sweet at the start then as it goes down your throat the Carolina pepper hits. Not burn for mouth heat just right!!!!! We will be back. These are some wonderful people. It fills my heart when I met these type of people. I have been blessed. read more

Just arrived here from a 23 hour drive from CT at 1AM and we were starving! The only place open and delivering was Downtown Deli. We ordered 4 gyros to be delivered hoping for the best... We were pleasantly surprised with how quickly they were prepared and delivered (thanks to Uber eats as well). The gyros were full of meat, lettuce, and tomatoes! The sauce was absolutely delicious and I'm happy I ordered extra. We were very happy with both the service and the food at such a late hour! read more

Everything that my group of 8 orderer was amazing. The tzatziki sauce was fresh and delicious. The pita with garlic (not sure what it was called) was so nice we ordered it twice . The food was phenomenal! I want to thank George Max and Matthew for an excellent time. The service was stupendous and they were very very friendly. Let me tell you how AMAZING this gem is!!! I decided to pop in and see if they has sysco meat or if it was the real deal... Holy Real Deal!! The owner was amazingly welcoming and so good at his craft! His employee was the life of the party!! They literally took a dining experience to a whole new level! The owner made me some sample appetizer that tasted WONDERFUL and she kept us on our tows and laughing! Atmosphere is always important but so it the food.. THE FOOD! OH EM GEE The fresh shaved lamb, yummy Tadzhik sauce, nice toasted pita and topping!!! DELICIOUS and HUGE. I ate this in 2 meals LOL. I wish I was some sort of food critic and better writer! We weren't even hungry but walking by twice we couldn't help but find out what the hell was smelling so good. We walked in and met George the owner who was so courteous,genuine,thoughtful,giving and truly wanting to please all his customers. A true restaurant owner that puts his food first and not the price!! His generosity is out of this world and in these days rare to find and encounter. He pulled out bread, his own homemade hot sauce and garlic paste. OMFG to the garlic paste!!! One of the best things I ever had and would literally eat this with everything! He was so proud that he just gave the recipe out!! We walked out with 3 gyros and the ultimate nachos. Sooooo good and his personality made the food 20x better. If your planning a trip to old town definitely stop in and have your own experience with George!! Wow what can I say. The president ate there food so it's got to be good. The have a triditional lamb beef mix but the flavor wow. They gave us samples and the meat was so juicy. 5.95 for a gyro so stuffed with meat that you can't even fold it close without eating some first. The staff was so friendly. Not sure what the hype was with the gyros. Kind of a letdown after seeing so many 5 star reviews. Very untraditional with the vegetables. The meat was alright and the pita came from a bag. Staff was nice :) For a better gyro go to Jerusalem Middle Eastern Restaurant just down the street. read more

The tea refresh was simply more hot water, NOT a fresh tea bag, so round two was basically flavorless. Ew. The server was really nice, but the long waits to get her attention were frustrating. And the water bottles were kept away from our table (?). I was having thirsty day, so my tongue was sticking to the roof of my mouth for way too long. When I asked for the bottle, she acted like she was irritated because it was "right behind" (me). Where neither of us could see it??? The bar has about 6 seats and has TVs to watch and the restaurant if filled with tons of cool Classic Rock pictures, memorabilia and quotes. It was just the vibe we needed to just hang as a family. The server allowed us to pick any table we wanted. We ordered margaritas. They were delicious. We also has the RIBS, okra, mac & cheese, potato salad, some greens, cornbread, brisket, grilled cheese sandwich and fries.
