What a strange little hotel! We chose it because of the speakeasy (it's not a hidden speakeasy, so no fun there - but the choose your own adventure-actor/liquor cocktails were fun) and the rooftop bar (which we could never visit because it was either "too busy" or "closed for an event.") There's no reception area, if you run out of coffee....oh well. It's like an Airbnb of hotels, with valet parking that you park yourself? Threw stars based solely on location!

First time coming here since the rebrand of the Quirk. Always love the rooftop bar and am glad it hasn't changed much at all. Even the exact same bartenders I saw a several months ago remained. They are highly knowledgeable in what to concoct. Was a bit jealous someone asked for there recommendations and they created some off menu delicacy. Expensive but worth it.

They do a delightful little poem and cocktail event every month where a local writer will make a personalized poem and the bartender based on the poem will customize a cocktail for you. My cocktail was lovely. This is in the speakeasy which is a different building than the hotel itself. I thought the room was cozy and relaxing. I found all of the staff to be extremely kind and accommodating. I got confused trying to figure out which bar I wanted to go to, and the man at the front desk very kindly walked me to where I needed to be. And a cook helped me find my way when I was lost. I will say the parking if you are just visiting the bar or restaurant can be tricky as there are not many free spaces easily found nearby. Also seating in the speakeasy is somewhat limited as it is a smaller space. Overall, would definitely recommend going to the event; it's held every month!

We really loved our room and our experience. Everything was as spotless and comfortable, The check in experience and finding help is a little problematic, and the music from the rooftop bar on the weekends is very loud, very late. But besides that we loved it and would stay again.

Slick hotel and great rooftop experience. Lots of different types of seating choices from couches to table to the bar. Very friendly staff. I did not get food but what I saw others get looked good. Great sunset! I will make this a regular stop on my trips to town.

Valet parking was easy and stress-free, which always sets the tone. Jeffrey was incredibly polite and helpful on the phone when I called to update my reservation and add my status--small interaction, but it stood out. Check-in with J was smooth and efficient, and Alister greeted us with so much warmth and positivity. You could really feel that the team works well together and takes pride in what they do. The room itself was comfortable, clean, and modern, with a lovely view that made it even more enjoyable. The hotel feels very well managed overall--everything just runs the way it should. Location is another huge plus--right near UVA and central to everything you'd want while visiting Charlottesville. Without hesitation, this is the best place to stay in Charlottesville. Highly recommend and would absolutely return.

I had hoped that it would offer a high class experience, but it was just okay. The room had some minor aesthetic touches, but in substance was pretty standard. The entrance to the hotel felt a bit cramped, and the building seemed centered around the restaurant that didn't have much for me. The sheets caused some skin irritation, and I wish all hotels used the most hypoallergenic detergent available. From a service perspective, it was quite good. I was offered an early checkin and also took a late checkout, so I got a ton of time with the room. They also stored my luggage, including various baked goods, after I was done. So I got a lot of value out of the room. The question to me was how this hotel would compare to the others that are in downtown Charlottesville; would the experience be worth a bit more than the more standard Marriotts or various others. I was not convinced that it would be worth spending the extra money on.

I haven't stayed at many places that feel more like a five-star resort than this one. Driving up to the property felt like being in a car commercial, rolling hills, gorgeous scenery, and impeccable service waiting the moment we arrived. Check-in was seamless. We stayed in one of the rooms in the new wing, which was absolutely stunning. In 2017, the hotel completed a multi-year, $2 million renovation and expansion, and it shows in every detail. Our room overlooked the grounds and was part of the beautiful new addition. The room itself was spacious and elegant, with a wonderfully comfortable bed and a cozy nook perfect for reading or relaxing. The bathroom was equally luxurious and practically begged for a long shower. Waiting for us in the room was a handwritten note wishing us a wonderful mother-daughter trip, along with thoughtful gifts from the spa. Another nice touch: branded, reusable water bottles to use at the filling stations around the property. I loved this sustainability piece that doubles as a keepsake. During our stay, I walked the grounds, visited the spa, and toured the Southern Living Idea House which is on its ground, though honestly, this is the kind of hotel where simply staying on property feels like a vacation. Because we visited in winter, the pool was closed, but seeing it made me want to return in the spring. The fitness center was well appointed, the tennis court s and area were beautiful, and the championship golf course was gorgeous! I'm not a golfer, but I loved looking at this course from the mini windows and patios overlooking it! I'll share more about the spa in a separate review, but trust me, it is not to be missed. And the on-site restaurant, Marigold, is an absolute delight. Jean-Georges' effortless style comes through in both the ambiance and the food. We enjoyed two dinners and a brunch there, and I genuinely wish I could have eaten even more. Wow. Another standout perk is the fleet of BMWs available for guests to check out and explore the surrounding area. We chose to only venture out once, to Jefferson Vineyard, but there is plenty to explore in the greater Charlottesville area for those wanting more. In closing, this hotel is incredible! Perfectly styled and wonderfully relaxing. I will be thinking about it and my lovely time there for many years to come!

From the moment we checked in, every staff member we interacted with went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They also provided us with a lot of recommendations which we appreciated. When we first arrived, we had a quick lunch at the grille. It overlooked the driving range with a beautiful view. They had a lot of food options. I got the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. We also dined at Marigold each morning for breakfast, as it was included in our stay. The omelet was amazing! We ate at Marigolds for dinner as well the last night, and the food was truly unbelievable. There's clearly a focus on fresh, local ingredients, and the menu offers something for everyone. Highly recommend the truffle pizza and the shrimp salad! We also took advantage of the spa during our stay. We each had a massage / facial. The spa was also beautifully set up, and I really enjoyed the steam room and sauna. The only thing that would've made it even better is if there was a private pool for the spa guests to use as well. The massage was wonderful though and very relaxing! We also got to enjoy the pool. It wasn't too crowded and the pool itself was luxurious. Keswick Hall is truly a gem in Charlottesville. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!

Easy check-in with Nazred who explained the all-included garage parking and fitness/ pool/hot tub situation perfectly. Breathtaking view from the glass elevator showing off the tasteful holiday lights and decor from the Christmas season. Remodeled hallways retain the historic vibe whilst presenting clean and inviting interior architecture. The room is elegant: beautiful hand painted porcelain lamp stands with dimmer switch, classic lounge sofa with modern upholstery, and the most attractive headboard I've seen in any hotel. Coffee maker and mini fridge are tucked away on either side of the dresser. We enjoyed a dip in the heated indoor pool and a nice soak in the hot tub before bed. Our mattress was firm and comfortable. The shower pressure decent, the room quiet and the view pleasant. Coffee is purchased and served at the piazza bar and our dirty oatmilk chais this morning were delicious. Everything we wanted was a short walk from the hotel. We attended a ballet at the Paramount Theatre, Indian dine-in at an upscale restaurant (see separate review) on Main Street and breakfast at Iron Poffles & Coffee, across the street. Cannot recommend this place enough. Such a good fancy overnight date experience in a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

This was our first time staying at a B&B, so we weren't sure what to expect, but whatever expectations we had were far exceeded. Room: We stayed in the Dinsmore Room which was awesome! It had a king size bed, and a sofa. The bathroom was nice and had a shower and separate tub. The room also had cable tv and a dvd player and there is wifi in the house. Breakfast: We stayed there for 3 nights, so we got to experience 3 different breakfasts and enjoyed each of them. The first morning we had a tuscan strata which was AMAZING and definitely our favorite breakfast. The next morning we had Eggs Benedict and the last morning we had a Peach French Toast, which we enjoyed as well. Each breakfast started off with fruit or parfait and along with the breakfast dish came thick sliced bacon. It also included coffee and orange juice. It was so nice getting up every morning and coming down and having breakfast served. Other perks: Each afternoon from 4-6 they had social hour where they sat out cheese and crackers and offered a glass of wine. It was a cool time to relax and get to know the other guests and Mark and Mary. Also, each evening they sat out milk and cookies which was an awesome way to end the day. I highly recommend coming to the Dinsmore House to stay. The accommodations are great, but the company of Mark and Mary are even better. They really love what they do and are so helpful and sweet. The street reeked of that sweet pungent nauseating smell of mary jane. Perhaps that is why the place is so uninviting, the population is too stoned to care. When we finally decided on this hotel, mainly because it was halfway to our final destination of Pennsylvania, and it looked quite interesting, I had trouble booking through their webpage. Maybe you can blame it on me? I just couldn't quite get the system to accept the "check in--checkout" dates. So I gave them a call and booked through a representative located in Las Vegas Vegas. Everything went smoothly. She was very friendly and accommodating. We actually loved the curvy roads leading up to the winery and hotel. That portion of the trip would've been better in our roadster for sure! We were checked in by a friendly gentleman named Thomas. He gave us a room next to the outdoor pool. Finishings kind of reminded us a little bit of the accommodations. It was peacefully decorated, and mostly comfortable except for the couch. We were only using it to lounge in and something more comfortable would have been desirable. I took advantage of the dry sauna and hot tub, which was a short walk across the parking lot. We tried to take advantage of the grounds by walking around the small lake and through the fields. If they were in a dedicated walking trails, we didn't find them! We took a tour of the main house and enjoyed our French inspired continental breakfast, though croissants would've been a nice touch! The vistas from the winery and the hotel are quite spectacular! Yes, that would have worked, but I also would have missed the experience here. Being off season one cannot take in all the amenities like the pool, some of the outdoor activities, and just the ability to lounge or otherwise enjoy the surrounds while staying here. However, it still turned out to be a great experience. You need to pass through a double gate to get to the lobby. The first one would take you to the Trump Winery and the second one to the Estate itself. Yes, it is still a hotel, but it feels like a country club from start to finish. The place is small enough where they, for the most part, go off your name. Dinner reservation? Okay, here is your table. Done? There is no tab (or tip for that matter). Yes, you still need to pay for it, but it just goes on your room bill seamlessly. Want something? Just ask. From the tiny two-seat bar to anything else, service is pretty personal here. For dinner the ESTATE SALAD - Arcadian green mix topped with tomato, watermelon radish, goat cheese and golden beets dressed with Trump Blanc de Blanc vinaigrette, was amazing. My main of DUCK - Pan roasted medium-rare duck breast with cherry port wine sauce, honey glazed rainbow carrots, wild rice pilaf with estate grown herbs, was the best duck I have had in a very long time. Plus, having a flight of Trump wine (white in this case) gave me a preview of the winery I would get to tomorrow. The Viognier I found to be the surprise interest out of the four I tried.
