Being able to arrive the morning before the wedding and spend that day with family is what really made the difference. Most of our family members were meeting for the first time and having a space to meet up ahead of time really brought everyone together. The property was breathtaking. In fact, from the first visit, we instantly decided we had found our venue. Our guests commented on how beautiful the location was. We were really concerned about our guests as it was a long drive from the airport. The feedback we got was that the drive was worth it and they could all see why we chose the venue. The price was reasonable for what you get. I do want to point out that if you're a type A person who needs a Type A sort of situation, you might struggle with this place as they're pretty laid back. I say this as a bonus for myself. I really appreciated the fact that they didn't try to micromanage. They were always available for anything I needed during the planning process but really allowed me to do things my way. This definitely helped ease some of the stress.

The pretzel bites and nachos were both solid, and we ordered two different chicken nugget options--one super mild (no sauce) and the other packing a nice spicy kick. The beer selection was great, and chatting with Wendy behind the counter was a highlight. She's the kind of person every brewery or restaurant needs--funny, welcoming, and just plain awesome. Only a couple of minor misses: they weren't offering beer flights because the dishwasher was down (I even offered to help wash the glasses, but no go), and they were out of shredded pork, which would've been great on the nachos. Still, nothing that would keep me from coming back. There are a lot of great spots in the area, but Cave Hill Farms Brewery remains one of my favorites. I'll definitely be back for visit #4.

The rain prevented us from having the ceremony outside, but Diane and her crew quickly made the switch at the last minute and pulled it off in 15 minutes. She was so helpful throughout the entire process, always responded quickly by phone and email, had a spread sheet with all the information that we needed, gave us great suggestions, it was like having a personal wedding planner. She made sure everything went smoothly. She also has some decorations and drink dispensers which we used at no extra cost. They provided all the tables and very nice chairs, dance floor, bar, linens, plates, silverware, fire pit, changing area for bride and groom, clean bathrooms, and beautiful scenery for photos.

The ability to park the car once and leave it for the couple of days was attractive. I couldn't be more pleased with our visit here. The Staff greeted us and was helpful throughout our stay, the historic building is beautiful and well maintained, the front porch has rocking chairs in a covered porch, and there's complimentary coffee in the mornings (and good coffee too!). The room isn't large, but is attractive, the bed was comfortable and the temperature controls worked well. There's a $15 breakfast buffet that we used once. It's typical eggs, potatoes, meats, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal/grits, and OJ. We went for breakfast a few doors down and spent $26 for 2 bagels and one coffee; I don't think this was an outrageous price at a nice hotel in a nice room with good service. There's an indoor pool that looked good, but we were busy and didn't get a chance to use it. The hotel truly is located in a great location. We ate within walking distance of a couple of good restaurants, and a few of the significant attractions are only steps away (although, be warned, the neighborhood is hilly!) The parking is $7.50 per night in a public lot attached to the building. They charge the parking to your room with in-out privileges.

The bathroom didn't have ventilation which made getting ready after showering a little unpleasant and smelt a tad musty/moldy but it's a historic hotel so let's temper our expectations. The breakfast offering was quite good, and included everything you could want (eggs, bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, fruit, granola, yogurt, pastries, etc.) so I was surprised to see other reviewers noting it wasn't good. That being said, had I been traveling not with a group I probably would've ventured out to a local coffee shop to see their offerings as that's my preferred method! Lastly, this hotel is super centrally located and made a great jumping off point to explore Staunton. We may look to host here again in the future and due to how easy it was, I look forward to it!

We were especially grateful to have the day-of coordinated by Katie, who worked behind the scenes to coordinate with all of us (coming from Florida, Texas, Maryland, Tennessee, & New York) and our vendors, she even managed my sons wedding timeline. It was evident that she genuinely cared about making the day special for our family. Her dedication and professionalism shined upon us the whole time. Because of Katie's expertise and dedication, we were able to relax and truly enjoy the day without any stress or concerns.
