    Cocktail flight and blueberry mule
    Becky D.

The cocktails were fresh, and layered with great flavors. We got the flight (Blood orange crush, pear bourbon, blackberry bourbon, back nine blues) and a blueberry mule. The salmon was crisp on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. It was paired with a warm grain salad and summer squash. Very fresh with citrus flavors. Artichoke dip was seasoned well and warm. We will be back !!!

We had such a great meal! Carlisle has a lot of history and I love that this quaint restaurant…read morecaptures those vibes. If you enjoy whiskey then this is a great place to visit. If you don't enjoy whiskey this is still a great place to visit. I do recommend their old fashion and their midnight manhattan. We started with warm bread and butter. Best bread ever!! Then we tried the crab fries - fresh cut and cooked perfectly. Plenty of fresh crabmeat on top. We enjoyed the beef stroganoff- we added mushrooms - the beef was very tender. My husband doesn't like beef stroganoff but loved this. Finally, our server, Jayden, made our evening. She was so sweet and attentive. She really knew the menu and gave us some great recommendations. I hope her Dad gets to read these compliments because he really raised a wonderful human! We can't wait to visit the 1794 again and try some different menu items!

Came here for the first time for dinner with hubby. We orders the whiskey rings appetizer (I.e.,…read moreonion rings), trout, Wagyu steak, and a couple of beers. Total came out to approximately $99 (not including tip). What's hot - Menu. Fairly short and straightforward menu. There appears to be something for everyone, even possibly vegans (I.e., mostly salads). - Quality. The whiskey rings appetizer was delicious- lightly breaded, crispy, nicely seasoned, and a good dipping sauce. My trout was served hot and nicely seasoned, as well. Tender and moist. I would've liked the skin to be crispy. The main disappointment was the steak, which I address below. - Location. Fairly easy to find in town. They have a nice indoor seating area and seating on their front porch. Their outdoor seating area is very pleasant when the weather is nice. - Price. With the exception of the quality of the steak, which I address below, their food is good value for money. What's not - Quality. The Wagyu steak was a disappointment. They cooked it appropriately (my husband ordered it done medium), but the meat was not tender at all. Rather, it was tough despite it being cooked medium. Would not order it again and it makes me doubt the quality of the rest of their meats. - Service. My husband's main issue with their service is that the second round of drinks we ordered were full price, rather than the happy hour discount. He insisted with the wait staff that we ordered the second round right at the end of happy hour, but they did not accommodate his request. - Parking. There is street parking, but it's timed and metered. There are a couple parking lots nearby within a block's distance, but they're more expensive- approximately $5-$6/hr. If you're willing to walk a few blocks, there is free parking. - Reservations. It's probably dependent on the day and time you go, but it appears reservations may be better. We went for Friday dinner. The hostesses asked us if we had reservations, which we didn't. As such, they asked us if we prefer to be seated outdoors or at the bar. My point is to be prepared. Final answer Willing to return, but not a first choice.

More kind and accommodating on the phone than just about any restaurant I've ever called. We came in like a half hour early, over the course of 20 minutes, cause we were traveling in multiple vehicles from ways away... I called ahead, but they said it was no problem at all. They were super helpful, I got drinks started while the rest of the party arrived. Ordered a bunch of appetizers... Mozzarella, sweet potato, waffle, fries, calamari... With like three different dipping sauces. Each of those was fantastic. Folks ordered burgers, chicken, cheesesteaks, traditional fair, like cottage pie, etc. Quantities were massive. Food was tasty. Many to go boxes were provided. The desserts were a surprise... I got my bread pudding to go. And then a few people got the lava cake and shared it. Great beer selection. Great cocktail selection. Great music on the speakers... At least I thought so, the Young'ns weren't as impressed with the sing-along Classics. Our server was beyond helpful, responsive, kind, accommodating,; probably one of the best I've ever had... Is that possible? Big party, I didn't check the details on the check... and the large party tip was included already. So I gave her too much cash for the tip, she stopped me on the way out and wanted to make sure I didn't screw up... Which I did. So she returned a couple bucks. But she earned every every bit for a tip yesterday.

I've been there a few times over the years, and each visit has been about the same: decent food, good drinks, and service that's friendly but sometimes a little slow compared to the crowd size. It's not exceptional, but it's steady, and there's value in that kind of reliability. The atmosphere is distinctly classic, with dark wood paneling, dim lighting, and an overall feel that's equal parts pub and old-school cigar bar. It's a little dated, but in a way that feels intentional--authentic to the town's character. You get the sense that a lot of local business deals and long lunches happen here, and that's part of the charm. The location is just off the main drag where most of the Carlisle festivals and events happen, which can affect how busy it gets. During downtown festivals, expect crowds, but otherwise, it's a good place to relax and catch up over a meal or a pint. Overall, Market Cross Pub isn't trying to reinvent itself--it's simply a solid, familiar spot with dependable food, friendly service, and an atmosphere that fits Carlisle perfectly.

The Indian cuisine was fresh and authentic, and the service was attentive. The tandoori, chicken and chicken tiki marsala were freshly made, equal to the best Indian food I've ever had. It was surprising to find food of such quality at that particular rurall location. We will definitely be stopping here often. We recommend this with our reservation. Also, the bathrooms were meticulously clean.

Like other people mentioned, the place itself is very clean and airy which is inviting. Also, as others mentioned, they give you a mini plastic bottle of water with your meal. I'd love to know the thinking behind that. It's takes away from the class of the meal. In underdeveloped countries getting bottled water is a sign that it's drinkable. Not sure the purpose here, but it feels wasteful. We had Chicken Tikka Masala, Kadai Chicken and Malai Kofta along with garlic naan. We got medium heat and were happy. Kadai Chicken was new to us and we loved it. Spectacular. Delicate and intricate flavors. We always order Malai Kofta if it's on the menu. Never disappoints. Chicken Tikka Masala was very good. We were just more enamored with the Kadai. All the dishes worked very well together. The malai kofta wasn't even hot, but we loved it anyway. I really should have sent it back, but as I mentioned, we were in town for a happy event so we just rolled with it! It was expensive and not something we'd do every week, but if you're looking for tasty Indian, this is it.
