All of the staff was professional and friendly. Once we checked in for the Candlelight event we were seated at a high top table. The stage was elevated so there weren't any bad seats. They offered beer and wine for alcoholic beverages at the bar. The ambiance was intimate and the decor was perfect. We listened to tunes by D'Angelo and Jill Scott. The duo singing both had amazing voices and put their own spin on each song. I've been to several Candlelight events but the one here a La Maison Rouge was my favorite. I hope to come back for more events.

When we attempted to update our order quantity the…read moreday before pickup, we couldn't reach anyone and were later told no changes could be made--despite the contract not listing a deadline. As a result, we overpaid for items we didn't need. Several items arrived damaged or unusable, including cracked glassware, stained/shrunken napkins, and worn easels. We also had to rewash more than half the glassware due to dirt. Communication was difficult due to a point-of-contact change, and overall customer service lacked the flexibility expected in the event industry. Unfortunately, we won't be returning for future events.

After the very first viewing, we were sold (husband was as long as I was!). Based on what we wanted to do - travel themed party - it was perfect for my ideas. Katie and Andre were so hospitable from the start with the most thorough and detailed tour. They took their time and we never felt like a bother. Katie was gracious enough to also give my planner and parents a tour on different days. The house is something special with lots of space, a beautiful wrap-around porch, and a huge backyard. Given that we weren't sure how the weather would be, we used the indoors and outdoors. Ceremony out front and the party from front to back. Using the backyard enclosed patio as our homage to Cuba with cigar rollers. Our favorite space was probably the balcony compete with a swing that is off of the master bathroom upstairs. The rooms! That's what makes The Howard House stand out from most generic venues around the city. You can rent for the weekend for damn near the same price points others quote for a small time block. It's worth it. Fridays can be used for rehearsals and welcome dinners, Saturdays for the main festivities, and Sundays for brunch if wanted. This made for some fantastic memories for us and our families/bridal party. You can also just rent for the day if that's your jam. I can't say enough about how wonderful Katie is to work with. So responsive, engaged, and helpful. All the time. You cannot go wrong with The Howard House as a venue if you're looking for unique, maybe non-traditional (like us), or low-key.

The house is huge and well decorated, with a perfect blend of modern amenities and more vintage decorations.  I had an intimate wedding ceremony and a small reception at the Howard House and it couldn't have been more perfect. My partner and I stayed in the house with our closest friends for the whole weekend and the accommodations were awesome. Everything we could have ever wanted was there, and Katie was super helpful in providing ideas and suggestions on how to best utilize the space for our reception. Our guests were all so impressed with the house and happy to be there! It really was everything I could have dreamed of. I can only hope that we have another excuse to stay in the house again soon, and I can't recommend it enough to anyone who may be interested!
