We ate at the Prime Rib/Crab buffet Friday night special and it exceeded our expectations. We had a very short wait to be seated, the buffet was one of the best in recent memory. The food selection & quality, presentation & overall taste was great & well worth the $34 price. The staff was friendly & attentive, Pleasant atmosphere & super organized & clean. We will definitely return in the future. Note: we stayed four nights at the KOA campground on the casino property & agreed that it was by far the nicest KOA anywhere in California. I love this place and it's clean and I love the staff- the food is normally so good. As a vegetarian, I just can't justify coming back w the price increased due to the buffet removing the sat night sushi rolls in place of the crab legs. I don't eat the meat or seafood/ crab and my guests I bring missed the sushi and all said the billboards advertising the crab legs had (ok, as a lifelong vegetarian, I don't know the diff or what they're called, but basically, the following: ...) been the big ones on the billboards, but in real life, they're the weird, tiny ones that take forever to get open and then there's very little payoff or meat or whatever. The pasta dishes tonight, including the Mac n cheese, all had no flavor and they used the large asparagus instead of the thin ones they normally have (I love the thin ones bc the thick ones are harder to eat). All in all, they should lower the prices back and go back to what they were doing. So, I'm just really disappointed with the Friday night prime rib and crab. First off the crab was WAY overcooked. And the prime rib; terrible honestly. It's definitely a select grade of meat not choice or prime. Service was good people were friendly restaurant was clean everything was great food completely underwhelming. I've been there five times. I'll go back for the brunch in the lunch buffet but I won't eat dinner ever again. Way way bad. read more

OMG, I went to their very first Prime Rib and Crab Buffet on Friday, April 4th and I had high hopes that for $34.99, that they would be able to pull off serving two simple premium dishes, but BOY WAS I WRONG! Looking at the pictures, you might think "what's wrong?" Well, I will tell you. The crab is dungeness crab, so only one section of each leg had any meat and it was a 3 inch section so just a profound waste of time and crab. The prime rib was dry and chewy and overcooked, it was more like some low quality roast beef you might use for leftover sandwiches but put lots of mayo on so you don't choke. The shrimp was big but when I tasted it, it was so water-logged, soaked with water and no shrimp taste left (how do they do that?). Another offering was fried fish that looked good but smelled -very- fishy, like it had been washed up on a beach for a week or two. Another loser. Fried shrimp was just frozen section shrimp you'd find at any cheap Chinese or American buffet. Asian section was crappy, even the potstickers were over-fried and chewy. Ice cream is iced milk, NOT cream (if you ever tried Weight Watchers Ice Cream, you'll know what I mean). Pies looked good but again, poor quality probably from sone super-processed food company like US Foods. This has to be the POOREST quality food I have EVER tasted, ten times worse than any Golden Corral or Hometown for sure, it's quite disgusting that they would serve this mess. I dumped plate after plate trying to find -anything- worth eating here and was defeated. To think 4 people cost $155 for this garbage and I used my casino points to pay for some it leaves me fuming. $28.99 a person? Really? It was horrible. The place was clean, I loved that. It was quiet. Hardly anybody there but I see why now. Hardly any food choices. Prime Rib was very raw with no taste. Mac & cheese tasteless,dinner rolls stale & cold, they were rolls out of a bag not baked. Everything I got was cold. Dinner started 4pm I got there 4:20pm. Desserts were old I'm guessing the pies had been sitting there for days pre cut on saucers. So disappointed. I was literally there 20 minutes and we left. My honest opinion is it needs shut down. Staff is always great. But...they need a chef that knows how to season and roast the prime rib, or at least teach the one they have now how. We haven't been impressed with their sides either, no flavor, no seasoning or spices. But gotta say the clam chowder is some of the best we've had. Desserts are still pretty good. Not like you have many choices of restaurants at the Feather Falls Casino. With that in mind, I'd say it's OK and acceptable. I've experienced very bad casino buffets, but this is enough to settle on. For dinner, they had an upbeat cashier and waiters. Breakfast had a different crew and they seem to have a bad night. Had no problems with the staff at the food stations. Their main attraction was their Mongolian BBQ. I never tried it, but my other half says it was OK. Majority of the traffic headed to the station piling up their bowls. It must be good. Their prime rib was the one thing I enjoyed the most out of the rest. It was cooked just right. It lacked bold seasoning, but that's what you get at a buffet. Oysters weren't as fresh as I'd like, but good enough. They have an omelet station for breakfast. Ham carving, roast beef, and the essential breakfast proteins sausage/bacon. French toast was something they offered, but not pancakes or waffles. This likely varies on the days of the week. They have a variety of desserts, but weren't appealing enough. I'd say their soft serve ice cream was better than having cake. They have more to offer than I have mentioned. This place reopened in April. It's very good, especially for the price, with a nice variety of different beef, pork, chicken, and fish options that change by the day. The buffet space is kind of limited, but they do a good job of packing a lot of things into that space, with very little of what I would consider "filler". I forget what all was on each night, but I remember Friday/Saturday had prime rib, salmon, and a few shrimp dishes, Thursday had tri-tip and cod, and Sunday had ham (and maybe sausage?), but every night has a little something of everything. The Mongolian grill has a nice selection, with shrimp added for Friday/Saturday. The dessert section has a nice variety of cakes and pies, and they get kind of inventive on the toppings. Thursdays have a nice Mexican section, and I enjoyed making burrito bowls with the many available ingredients they have out. The interior is nothing special, but the staff are nice enough. One night I had asked about a type of cake I'd seen on a previous night, and one person was nice enough to check the fridge, and brought out a slice for me. read more

The buffet isn't horrible. It's not going to "wow" you. But, it does warrant it's 3 stars. For breakfast, you have your obligatory omelet station ham carving station. No waffles or pancakes, but I did have a French Toast casserole, which I thought was weird, but when paired with the vanilla bean sauce and whip cream, was actually halfway decent. Plus, when your eyes focus on that tray of bacon, anything else placed beside that on your plate will be good! For brunch, they do have mimosas to go along with the standard "international" faire. For dinner, the plus is made to order NY steaks, which was actually pretty good. Sliced a little too thin, but not bad. Just make sure to get it medium rare since it's sliced so thin. For desserts, be prepared for the same things breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Some pies, a few petit fours, and of course, the soft serve ice cream cone. My first time here at Feather Falls Casino & Lodge and I'm hungry. The Dream Catcher Buffet is one of the spots to get something to eat. Coming on a tour bus from Emeryville to South Oroville, one can just imagine my stomach is singing, "feed me Carol, feed me all day long"...ha! The hostess/greeter gives me a $3.00 voucher off (meal ticket) for lunch. Regular price for the brunch is $11.95. After deduction, the total cost is $9.62, which includes tax. Surprisingly, there is no review of this buffet eatery. I wonder why. Ambiance: Plenty of tables, chairs and booths in the dining room. Some areas are well lit, but the area directly to the right of the entrance is dim, and that is where I am sitting - the third table with seating for four people. Okay, I am Hans Solo...just kidding, but I am on my own and under the radar in preparing this review. I am straying from the ambiance. To the left of the entrance are the various food stations, which starts with soups, a variety of salads, fresh lettuce and romaine, fresh melons and strawberries, all the add-ons of a typical salad bar, carved meat, omelette station, breakfast items (scrambled eggs, hash browns, home fries, sausage, bacon, etc.), to other entrees and appetizers, pastries, desserts (pies, crepes, ice cream sundaes and fruit cobbler). Customer service: waitress was friendly, attentive and prompt. I did not like the taste of their Arnie Palmer and mentioned it to her. I was willing to pay extra for a raspberry iced tea, but my meal included whatever beverage I desired. She apologized (which was not necessary). She did provide decent service to other restaurant patrons and myself; thus, I left her a $5.00 tip. The selection for the brunch was okay...not a huge selection, except if one is looking at the stuff loaded with carbs and sugar - breads, pastries, pancakes, pies, etc. First round: scrambled eggs, one sausage, hash brown potatoes, a serving of macaroni salad and shrimp cocktail salad, French toast casserole w/vanilla bean sauce, one strawberry and one samosa. Scrambled eggs were a tad dry, sausage was fine, hash brown (overdone, fried too long) was slightly hard and dry, macaroni salad was so-so, shrimp cocktail salad had a nice kick to it. The samosa was too spicy (food allergy prevented me from finishing it). Basically, the food was nothing to write home to mom about (hate ending a sentence with a preposition). Second round was slightly better: one biscuit topped with sausage gravy, two sausages drizzled with sugar-free syrup, kitchen crew just brought the hash brown out to steam table (better this time around - moist and fluffy). Final round: one crepe and a slice of coconut cream pie. Even though I enjoyed the biscuit and sausage gravy, the two sausages, the coconut cream pie and the raspberry iced tea (3 glasses), it was not enough to give this place more than a 3 star rating. The dinner buffet, which starts at 4 PM, focuses more on Asian cuisine - bulgogi, Thai noodles, pho. I pass...next! It's a hit or miss for me since I am not a buffet fan. read more

This review is specifically for the all-you-can-eat champagne brunch they offer on Saturdays and Sundays until 3 p.m. I really don't know how I stumbled into here, but I was ravenous and ready to eat. The buffet itself wasn't very large--oatmeal, clam chowder, assorted fresh fruit, brisket, omelets made on the spot, typical breakfast food (i.e. eggs and sausage), and a lot of sweets. I recommend sticking with the omelets, which were nicely made. The real highlight was the unlimited champagne. Well okay, our server said it was unlimited as long as we weren't "stumbling." Remember, Oroville is a tiny town, so finding good places to eat is fairly difficult. The mimosas and super friendly service took this mediocre joint up a notch. read more

When it comes to buffets, this is one of the best I have ever been to. Steak and Seafood night is my favorite. The steaks are cooked to order and unlike some other buffets, if you're not satisfied they will do it over. Rarely is there ever the need though. At least not for me. The peel and eat shrimp is huge and a perfect partner for the steak. The salad bar at the Dreamcatcher Buffet is phenomenal too. They have one of the largest selections of ingredients of any salad bar in town and it's always fresh. Much of it (when available) is locally grown as well, which is always a plus. The service there is fantastic as well. The servers are all attentive to your needs. We we're just there last night and the place was packed. They were unusually busy, even for a Friday night, but the servers were regularly by our table to see if how our meal was or if we needed drink refills or anything else. I can't say enough about the service. If I had to say anything negative about the experience last night, the one thing I did notice was that they were a little slow to clean up food that had been dropped on the floor. It eventually did get cleaned up, but considering how busy they were, I think they did just fine. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend the Dreamcatcher Buffet. Came here for dinner. Price was reasonable for "buffet" food, especially considering they had delicious Prime Rib on the menu. I'm only giving 3-stars because the service was absolutely terrible! Not once did they clear our used plates, or refill our drinks... And they charge anyone full price who enters the restaurant. Also- the desserts were yucky! They were all thawed and crystallized. My husband and I enjoyed our dinner tonight. The prime rib was very good, mashed potatoes, Shrimp with Broccoli, Salmon in dill sauce, clam chowder, breaded shrimp, etc. Perhaps since it was a Friday? there was crab but unfortunately, it they didn't have it out very long. They had raw oysters. Banana cream pie not so great, but I liked the mini pecan pie and a type of bread pudding with whiskey sauce. We didn't even get to try the Mongolian bbq since we were so full. The cigarette smoke coming into the buffet was unpleasant and so overwhelming I could no longer taste my food just cigarettes, it also gave me a headache. There are no doors to stop the smoke or the noise from the gaming floor. There are a couple windows facing the gaming floor but that's it. I would go to this buffet again but I don't want to deal with the constant cigarette exposure while trying to taste my food. The food is actually good, especially the stir fry. They told us that " the tribal folks don't like outsiders waking in their housing neighborhoods" so we had to leave. Just FYI. We were told by the very nice young tribal police officer that instead of going into the fenced reservation housing area, if you want to stretch your legs after the long drive up, there is an approved outside ring road that traverses the reservation outside the private residential area to walk in. Interesting note: before we left the reservation housing area, we saw teepees in people's backyards and Native American carving statues and dream catchers on their front doors. But there are also working teepees to see on the reservation ring road that you can walk on. Take that to the tribal store where you can purchase good quality Native American handicrafts. Better leave your hard earned there and bring home a souvenir to remember than in the casino and bring home nothing but a broken heart. Oh yeah, so eat at the buffet before you gamble and save your bridge toll. It's a 2 1/2 hour drive back to Frisco and you'll feel like a hella lame loser driving all the way home hungry because you forgot to eat before the "one armed bandit" took all your mean green.:) read more

Me and hubby came here for a Date Night. A little bit of Gambling, Dinner and a Cover Band Concert We ate at this buffet on a Saturday Night, which was Shrimp and Prime Rib night. The Prime rib was delicious. And they do not skimp on how thick the cut is, not to mention you can go back and get another piece! With a garlic crust on it, this prime rib delicious. The peel and eat shrimp and salad was also very good. The Waitress refilled our soda's any time we were getting low. Hubby even went to the pasta bar and had some shrimp alfredo made. Saturday is "Prime Rib and grill to order steak night. I have owned a restaurant before and know that the meat they serve there is of a very low grade. It has also been broken down in a solution to make it seem tender. The Hometown Buffet chain also does this. Actually many restaurants do this when the grade is below USDA Choice. There was nothing at this buffet that stood out aside from the peel and eat shrimp, which were big and I also had a slice of German Chocolate cake that was pretty good. Went here for the picnic lunch buffet. The food was alright with made to order burgers, fried chicken, hot dogs, and sandwich bar. However, it looked like some of their bread had mold on it and there were plenty of flies everywhere. When I was trying to get lettuce, at least four or five flies buzzed out of the food tray. We have ate at the Feather Falls buffet about 6 times. Each time we were a glutton for punishment 2 hours later. Today we ate at their new Mongolian Buffet. All I had was a salad and a bowl of sauteed vegetables and frozen chicken that was quickly sauteed on the large wok. Not even 2 minutes. Well, 2 hours later it hit me. Diarrhea! So, we will never eat there ever again. I barely made it to the bathroom. There's something in their food supply on the buffet that gives me and my partner the trots every time - but no more.
