Excellent, excellent service. Called to confirm I wanted a prescription to be filled because it wouldn't be covered by insurance and to make sure I could pick it up before 5 pm (it was an Rx that needed to be compounded, i.e., mixed by the pharmacist.) Gave me really good instructions and made sure the other more common medications I received from my dentist directly and CVS pharmacy were not going to interact with what he was providing. It turns out that the alcohol containing anti-microbial mouthwash from my dentist would have interacted with the very strong antibiotic I had been prescribed because it contained alcohol (even though I wasn't going to drink it, of course.) Joel potentially saved me from a lot of pain and discomfort. read more

My primary reason for this one star review, beyond the lack of follow-through, is the fact that one of the medications I was prescribed and needing to refill, is extremely dangerous to discontinue abruptly. The pharmacy's failure to communicate and process my prescription in a timely manner, despite being aware of my inquiry, was not only unprofessional but potentially harmful. Leaving a patient in limbo regarding a medication with serious withdrawal risk is unethical and unacceptable. I strongly advise caution when considering this pharmacy. The employees I directly dealt with at this pharmacy - Raquel and the other female clerk - were extremely irresponsible and careless. Orginally, when my doctor sent my prescription to the Druggist Pharmacy, I was not pleased. I don't live anywhere near Santa Clarita, but I do live less than 5 minutes away from my regular pharmacy. Oh, well. The drive from my doctor to this pharmacy took only a few minutes. Besides, the prescription was filled in an hour's time. My pharmacy would have taken at least 3-7 days. The shop itself is rather small, but it is well-stocked with all of the essentials. My doctor had given me a list of items he knew I would need, and the pharmacist had everything in stock and prepared for me. Since I was getting a variety of items, the pharmacist made sure to give me a thorough run-down of each pill, its dosage, its side effects, etc. I very much appreciate the counseling, because that list looked quite overwhelming at first! He and his pharmacy technician were patient, knowledgeable, and friendly -- overall, pleasant to work with. For medications that are quite pricey, they used generic versions that were on the same level. Prescriptions can really add up, so I'm glad the pharmacist substituted some of them. For all those pills, I paid a reasonable price. I was in and out of there within 10 minutes. As the pharmacy shares a lot with other medical offices, there was plenty of available parking spots. Easy to find the place. I would love to continue using this pharmacy for my prescription needs, but I live about 20 miles away. My chain store pharmacy just doesn't compare to the attention to detail and professionalism that the Druggist exhibits. I would encourage anyone in the Santa Clarita / Valencia / Stevenson Ranch areas to give the Druggist a try. read more

Went in today (12/29/2020 at 2:45 pm) and the pharmacist was not wearing a mask. Actively handling people's orders without so much as a mask hanging around his ear or below his chin... just, no mask, despite the signs on their door requiring face coverings and social distancing. I left immediately and called them from my car to ask them to send the order to another pharmacy. I told the attendant why I was doing so and all she offered was, I understand. I can't believe that a medical professional would openly endanger public health... it's brazen even by Santa Clarita standards. A complaint is being filed with the CA Board of Pharmacy. read more

The Druggist is the by far the best pharmacy in the Santa Clarita Valley! We were referred to this compounding Pharmacy by our Doctor after our last pharmacy went out of business, and after several unsuccessful attempts with other pharmacies in the area who were very difficult to work with. This is an awesome pharmacy! I usually go through CVS but my plastic surgeon sent my prescriptions here instead. They ran my insurance before I got there & told me over the phone which prescriptions would not be covered. All of my meds were filled within the hour. Joel, the pharmacist, is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and attentive to your needs. He could sense that I was nervous about the procedure to begin with based off of all my questions (and as a nurse, I had a lot). He very meticulously explained every medication, gave me directions, warned me about side effects, and even taught me about an interaction that my migraine medication would have with Percocet. In addition to my medications, there were several over the counter items I needed for the surgery. My doctor faxed them this list which included an antibacterial soap, Aquaphor, etc., and the pharmacy tech conveniently gathered all of the supplies together for me. The tech called my doctor as well to clear up a question that I had. This place has 10/10 customer service. I would highly recommend using this pharmacy if you're in the Santa Clarita area. read more

They're friendly and I want to like them, but I've had trouble with compounded prescriptions from here which I first got a few months ago. I had to go back to my old pharmacy via mail delivery and the results are better in various ways. Looking closely at their remaining capsules I see that some are filled completely but some have air pockets that result in being filled around 80%. This has never been the case with my other compound pharmacies. Dosage consistency is hugely important in a compounding pharmacy for obvious reasons, and I have to wonder about the quality control at this place. read more

Extremely unprofessional. The young woman working the front desk was very kind and helpful but the older man who was filling my prescription was giving me a lecture about ways to cure myself without my medicine and talking about how doctors are always going to give you unnecessary drugs. I was extremely uncomfortable especially having him talk extensively about how i dont need my prescription and having him basically announcing to the store what drugs I was there to pick up, luckily there was no one else but us. Was referred to the Druugist after finding out the pharmacy I was using abruptly closed leaving me unable to refill my prescription. My Dr called them and they filled it right away and even mailed it to me. We do not have a pharmacy in town that fills compound prescriptions so this is a huge plus. What kind of small, not busy pharmacy can't fill two prescriptions in a solid HOUR, when they know full well that I am in EXTREME pain from two major surgeries 8 days ago!!! My husband was going to drive all the way from work in the valley, and wait the full hour for my prescriptions- but the owner Joel REFUSED to help me!!! My doctor had my prescriptions sent over to this pharmacy and they were absolutely wonderful. Extremely friendly, had everything all ready to go when I came in for pickup. My doctor is elderly and made an error in writing my prescription, Joel, the pharmacist, bent over backwards to help me fill it, including calling the doctor and communicating with his staff to fix the problem. He could easily have just refused to fill it, and left it up to me to backtrack back to the doctor to get it straightened out, but he chose to go the extra mile for the customer. It wasn't even an expensive RX to fill, but he and his staff bent over backwards to accommodate me, for which I thank them very much. Great pharmacy. The one and only drawback that I am aware of is their limited hours (9-6). That can be a little tough. But they formulate prescriptions in-house and are always professional, efficient and friendly. The biggest service that SETS THE DRUGGIST APART is that THEY DELIVER! The staff is super nice, but they almost NEVER have the supplement I need in stock. They always offer to order it for me, but that doesn't help me when I'm about to run out in a few days. I even switched to the PM version, because they said they usually didn't run out, and I keep having the same problem. Also, when I tried to get more information about what made the PM supplement different and if there was a possibility of becoming dependent on it to sleep, nobody really had any answers. Even the pharmacist himself simply pulled out a book listing the ingredients and offered to photocopy it for me. Not very helpful. read more

This is a one of a kind compound pharmacy where I completely trust the knowledge and advice of my pharmacist. I initially came here for an HRT prescription. I later found out that HRT is one of Joe's specialties. He has helped and advised me so many times! Again when I needed LDN I find out he specializes in that too, and honestly, he guided me through the entire dosage process. As the doctor said, "Joe will tell you what to do, I follow his guidelines on LDN". I felt compelled to write immediately when I saw a bad review because they do not deserve it. I always see them wearing masks and they are a small pharmacy so hours are obviously limited. I would have all my regular prescriptions filled here but my insurance says I must go through CVS - which I do not like at all. Those who like an impersonal, large pharmacy should not come here.
