What an AMAZING experience! I scheduled a Full Face, Eyes & Lashes and Upstyling hair appointment online. I was coming in from out of town for my daughter's wedding and I didn't know what to expect. EVERYONE was so friendly and eager to make me look beautiful! My makeup and hair exceeded any expectations I might have had walking in! Laura, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure I looked my very best. I brought my wedding outfit to change into, along with a portable steamer. When I mentioned that I was going to use the steamer on my skirt, she insisted on doing it for me. She didn't want my hair and makeup to be affected by the steam. When it looked like my husband was lost and wouldn't be able to pick me up in time for family wedding photos at the Nixon Library (just down the street), Laura insisted on driving me there herself. I was a customer for a long time but by the way she treats her staff and talks shit on them in front of her customers was enough for me to get the heck out of there and not come back. Her stylists gave me breakage in my hair and pulled out clumps of hair. By from the lack of professionalism I doubt she provides any training to them or herself. I usually avoid them bc my experiences with stylists have always been met with distracted and/or pretentious attitude. I'm the type that prefers to have the (hair, nail, etc.) professional focused on the job rather than small talk with me or other employees. Emily killed it. Easy to make an appointment online. I booked a wash, blow dry + deep condition. Greeted with my choice of drink. Emily asked me all the right questions: water temp, products I didn't want used, example of the style I had in mind. Im *extremely* tender headed and I didn't even have to warn her!!! She washed + detangled with a firmness and NO HAIR PULLING?!?! That's been impossible for me to find. When she styled, she continued to ask questions about my hair and let me know that she would aim for the pic I showed her but that my hair cut style would make it look different #honesty. She focused on me the whole time without being distracted by the other stylists or trying to chit chat with me. In the end, I felt like a bad b *hair flip* and loved the experience. I love this place! Laura and her team are very welcoming and friendly! My wedding planner recommended me to come here for hair and make up. I procrastinated to search for a hair and make up stylist for my wedding day. I was afraid of someone giving me a dramatic bridal look and I even considered to do my own make up! Lol. Luckily, Laura was able to squeeze me in for an appointment one week before my wedding day. She even offered to do a mini make up trial a few days before. She gave me just enough glam for pictures but also a natural look so that I can still feel like myself! That was exactly what I asked and hoped for. Recently came here to get my hair and make up done for my birthday. Upon walking in, I was greeted nicely from the receptionist and it seemed genuinely. The 3 girls already doing people hair didn't seem very friendly, no smiles given, just RBFs. I felt very uncomfortable. The girl that came and got me to do my hair was one of the 3 girls and was nice. I explained why I was there and what I was looking for as of hair. Curls with a little half up half down style. During blow dry, she burned the back of my head. When I reached back to feel and relieve some of the burning pain, my fingers were burned because my hair was so hot. I think she figured out that it was too hot as it didn't happen again. I asked for the curls to be done a little tighter as my curls fall quick. She said yes and continues. The owner comes over and asked how much longer because they only booked me for an hour and I needed to move over to get my make up done. She said she was almost done but would need to re curl some. I blurted out " all of it?!" She said just a few pieces. They decided to move me to make up so we could get that started. I asked to use the restroom to look at my hair and I was absolutely shocked to see my hair. All of it was flat and the half up half down looked horrible!! I was so embarrassed!!! I really wished I would have taken a photo. Thankfully the girl doing my make up was so friendly and reassured me that they wouldn't let me leave unless I was happy. The owner came over and asked to see the pics I showed the hair girl as reference. My make up turned out great and then my original hair girl and another girl finished my hair with a flat iron. I also told her to leave my hair down. They didn't end up charging me for my hair. I did tip the hair girl but really wish I hadn't. I most likely will not be back due to the girls doing hair. 5 stars for hair and 5 more for making up! I was a bride who went through a situation where my hairstylist canceled on me 3 week before my wedding and the dry lounge came to my rescue!! The dry lounge was found through my wedding coordinator, and I praise my Lord Jesus this situation happen because they did such an outstanding job with my hair and make up! I drove to the dry lounge and their one of the owners helped me out herself. She was very kind and considerate of my situation. Because of my situation I was not able to do a trial. So she asked of me to email her a picture of the hair style and make up I wanted for my wedding day. I did just that and made my appointment for 9am. She provided amazing service during my one on one with her. Several days later my wedding coordinator contacted me and informed me we had a time line to follow and 9:00 am was not going to work since my ceremony would be starting at 2:00pm. She was able to speak with one of the owners and she went her way to open at 7:00 am just for me! Now that was truly such an amazing thing for them to do! That demonstrated high quality, caring, attentive, accommodating service!! The prices are also great and fair! (I saved money with them!) My hair and make up turned out just exactly how I wanted it! My hairstyle stayed still during the whole event. I had many crying moments and my Make did not smear at all! And my fake eyelashes stayed in place! My daughter, who was the flower girl, also got her hair done here. She was not cooperating, but her stylist was very patient and good with her. I truly have nothing but great things to say about this place. My experience was just amazing! It helped starting my special day by just being surrounded by great women! I went in yesterday to get a wash and blow dry.. one gal was doing hair and was almost finished.. I asked the other gal if they had time to take a walk in... 11:15 am... she checked the books, said sorry, no openings until 5:30 pm... I said really, no thanks, I just thought I'd try! I said can you do it, she was just the receptionist... I said, I have done hair for nearly 20 years, never tried to turn away clients! As I was walking to the door, she said wait a minute, maybe in twenty minutes...really? Where is this person, she said she was waiting for another stylist to get there.. I said it won't be longer than 20 minutes... no, hold on , the stylist is here but on a phone call... then she went to the back and they walked out together... the phone call must have been over! Mind you, I sat in her chair, the stylist gal at the end was finished with her customer...she brushed her own hair, I went back to get mine washed, came back to get it dried and the gal was flat ironing her hair, the entire time I got mine blown out! Btw, my gal had no personality! Shouldn't be in this business! After being charged $55.00 for a bad service, I'll never go back there again! Rip off, the girls working don't interact with each other as well! This morning I was out to breakfast with a girlfriend from YL.. I was telling her about my experience! My first experience was great. I told the girl what type of curls I wanted, and she did great! This last visit (Saturday) I went for a wash and curl, told the girl what I wanted and even showed her a picture and got something totally off. First off, the mirrors are horribly positioned. I can't see myself as she was doing my hair or I would have SEEN it looked off. I honestly felt like she wasn't doing it right (flat iron curls), but tried to trust her process. She had another client already waiting and the receptionist was on her (politely) about time. That and I'm just not a confrontational person, so I don't think I would have said anything anyway. I didn't have a mirror to look in the back, but was stunned to examine my hair when I got home. It just looked strange. Curls going every which way. Curls starting one way, but going kinked another way halfway down. Tight waves around my scalp. It didn't look soft, didn't look beachy, didn't look cute. It just looked all wrong. I ended up having to fix it at home, which was also hard because she had already put product in my hair to make it feel stiff. I left her a pretty darn good tip too without knowing how much I'd hate it when I got home. Bummer. Anyways, I wish there was a way to view the stylist and her work before booking. AMAZING experience at the dry lounge with kaitlyn. She did the cutest updo with a braid and it lasted from 1:15pm when she was done until I took it out at 3am after the wedding we went to was over. Meh. It was cheap ($25), but that's about it. I went as part of a group. One of the girls love this place, but she has curly hair, so maybe it's hard to find a place to straighten and curl curly hair? I dunno. All I know is that I could have done better by myself at home. I have straight, thin Asian hair that is easy to curl. It's hard for me to build volume at home and have it look nice, so I depend on professionals for that. Didn't happen here. The teasing job was substandard (chunky instead of a smooth lift). The worst thing was that she started my curls above my brows, so I had this weird lion's mane curls, instead of soft waves all over. I can, and have, done better by myself. They give you drinks, so I guess that's cool if you're into that kind of thing, but I was just there to get my hair done. read more

Not such a great experience that I've had compared to the other times I've brought my daughter here for a special event. Shannon was not very welcoming or warm, in my opinion. Maybe she had a bad morning or something. But she didn't seem very accommodating when I presented a picture of the style my daughter picked out. She looked irritated and right away, saying the price was higher, which was fine. Then she tells my daughter not to come back with wet hair next time since she had taken a shower in the morning. Not in a nice way either but in a kind of lecturing tone. When I asked if she needed to reference the sample picture again, she said no and then made a comment about her hair being too long and difficult to work with. None of the other stylists had an issue with her hair type when I've gone before. Finally, when it was completed, she didn't thank me nor ask if I liked the job. $87.00 later....at least she did a good job on the hair, but I want my daughter to have fun when being pampered.
