Raul is professional and personable (ask him about fishing!). He took off 27-year-old wallpaper, prepared the walls, repaired the drywall and repainted. He even added some missing moulding. He was a great communicator, as this job took a few weeks because it had to dry in between and we had to wait for the electrician. I felt very comfortable having Raul and his crew work inside my home for several weeks without being present. We had a sewage backup which destroyed the carpets and dry wall. Raul did a great job for our dry wall repair, paint and cabinets. Raul patched up drywall holes created by recessed lighting installations we'd done weeks before. The whole process worked great. I learned there are many phases involved in the process (well, when someone knows what they're doing) and Raul aggressively showed back up when ready for the next phase. The results were as you'd hope: all drywall areas are perfect, even down to the paint; you can't even tell the holes were there if you inspected with a magnifying glass. Raul is great, he is a real artist when it comes to texture. We had a house that needed some patching before it could be sold. Raul took over a week to get the work done, but everything was done as requested and for the price bid. We had a lot of water damage from a leaking roof. It was a mess upstairs, the drywall had been destroyed. Since our entire house has smooth wall finish, I was worried that anyone could fix it properly. Raul came out, on time, worked on the wall for a few days and repaired all the damage. I would hire him in an instant. His work is beautiful. Drywall is hard to get right, you can end up with ripples, and lots of dips. If you hold a flashlight against the work the Raul completed, its PERFECTLY flat. He did a great job, I would hire him again and not worry about a thing. Actually, I am going to hire him very shortly to fix some drywall in the living, we are having windows replaced and the drywall needs repair. Raul is a friendly guy, good at texting and scheduling, and talking about all of his other jobs. I feel bad writing this but if you are like me (I care about my home and details) you may want to think twice. His first job for us was to replace some drywall in our guest bathroom and re-skim the walls. After they were done I was pretty disappointed at the job. I took a bunch of pictures of the bad texture and missed areas, but we had to get the vanity in and finish up as we had guests coming, so I let it go and forgot about it. He had quoted us while he was here to remove some wallpaper. It was a fair price so we called him out a year later. The second evening, hours after they left, I noticed the paper they put down looked wet. Sure enough, under the drop cloth and plastic film, the red rosin paper was soaked through on our WOOD FLOORS! I pulled everything up and wiped the floors down, but they are ruined in some areas. To be honest, I was hoping to replace them at some point, so I was pretty cool about it, but if these were new or nice wood floors I would have raised holy hell. I texted him about what happened, and that I removed all of the soaking wet paper, and he said ok. The next morning he would not look me in the eye or say a word. It was an awkward day. Before they started I had them remove the crown molding, and I asked him to make sure everything was prepped for paint (I'm the painter). We would have paid more for this, but he just said ok, he understood what I asked for, and did not do it. I had to skim and sand the walls and ceiling myself. When I scheduled him I added a 4' x 4' section of wall in another room where we removed wallpaper, asking him to skim and match the texture in the rest of the room. He did a terrible job and charged us an extra $300! I had to fix that too. I'm not sure what his area of expertise is, but it is none of these things, and it is NOT keeping the space clean at the end of the day. Maybe if you need drywall in a new build where the mess does not matter? Maybe he's really great at knockdown texture. I wish he would not have accepted these jobs, he should have said it was out of his realm. Before they left, one of his awesome workers stayed behind to sweep and try and clean up some of the mess and apologize for what happened. read more

I have had Raul do work on my house for 15 years. The last project he did for me was a terrible experience for me and my family. He came in and patched a wall which was fine, however when he did the mud and texturing he used old stinky mud which left my whole house smelling like a portapotty for weeks.
