I just wanted to update my review of DH. I needed a preparation pass involving demolition of some shelving in two closets and resurface and texturing of the walls before a new closet organize system was installed. Damon and his team did an A-1 job for a remodeling back in 2018 and this time they did not disappoint, things came out perfectly. The closet installers were happy to see the walls perfectly prepared for their work, which also came out great. I strongly recommend this company, they do amazing work and are extremely cost competitive with very high quality through and through. We had several smallish wall repair projects in our home, and Damon responded to my request very quickly and was able to start the job a few days later. When he arrived, he looked at the job, let me know what to expect, and Pedro got right to it. We had a bunch of holes in our ceiling and walls from recessed lights that we decided to take out. Damon did an excellent job of filling these and patching it to match our existing old world finish. I had used and reviewed DH drywall back in 2011, and they just completed another job for us. This time fixing the drywall and finishing walls/shelves in a walk-in closet. I can't say enough good things about them. They show up when promised and do excellent, meticulously careful work! Damon the owner did the first job. Damon kept his word and our office was repainted today. I would definitely recommend Damon's services. Although our original texture didn't match, the new texture blends in extremely well with the original texture and he fixed the texture and coordinated repainting without charging a fee. If I ever need another texture job done, I will consider using DH Drywall again. I've been having to deal with a number of contractors recently as I've had to resolve a number of issues with a home that is being rented out. The majority do not respond, prove to be unreliable, etc. So Damon was definitely a breath of fresh air. I had a section of ceiling sagging due to water damage from A/C condensate and Damon got it fixed right away. Here are the things I appreciated about his service: 1. I recommend Damon and his crew. My house had a water damage a couple months ago and several sections of the drywalls/ceiling were removed for drying. When it's time to build back and patch the drywall, I contacted Damon based on his Yelp reviews. Hand his crew's work sure met my expectation. 1. They blended the texture of the repaired section of the wall against the existing section so well that, after the painting, I honest couldn't find out where the line of removal/repair was. 2. They encountered a bit of a technical challenge on the first day as some of the ceiling beams are not level/flush. Damon's team had to be creative and fixed that problem (free of charge). 3. Damon is quite responsive throughout the process, which is a key for remodeling as you have other jobs lined up before and after the drywall part. He prefers texts than calls. Hey, I do too. I had a very small job to tape, mud, and texture both sides of a 3' x 6' opening in a wall that was being closed up. Damon was incredibly responsive and knowledgeable. I hired DH Drywall couple month ago to do the drywall, knock down texture and painting for my place. It's not pleasant experience. Damon first gave an quote and raised it couple times by couple hundred here and there. He basically subcontract my project to other unlicensed contractor for the paint job. I gave one star because the painter did good job even he is not licensed. Damon had his workers to do the drywall & texture work. When they missed the small section and have to re-do, he asked for extra money. Even so I paid that but he just spray the texture without knock down to blend with the rest of the wall. I can see the uneven section on the accent wall. He would leave the trash in front of my house for the whole 3 weeks. He said it costed him extra to haul the trash. He was totally ignored the dirt and rain. When his workers spray the wall, they didn't even cover the floor n left wet plastic on floor. He defended he wouldn't cover bare floor. I ended up spending a grand to clean the floor before I can put new floor. He was totally inconsiderable and cheap. He would ask extra $400 if i have the painter finished the painting first and come back to do the baseboard. That's not typical practice. I was pissed because I had to finish the project under tenant pressure n he took advantage of my situation. Not to mention he had attitude when I brought up issues. At last but not the least, the worker took down all light fixtures n outlets covers. He couldn't manage to put them back because they lost bolts n nuts. He would just hang the light uninstall on the ceiling. He told me to hire electrician to put the lights back. If you hire him to do drywall only, you maybe okay. If you want more than drywall, I wouldn't recommend. read more

I was highly recommended to use DH Drywall from my Accountant but from my experience they are not recommendable at all. Do not waste your precious time and effort trying to establish any form of contact with this company. They never return any calls, texts or emails after me trying over 10 times in a week. It could be that they have closed their business permanently, if not, they should be reported to the BBB because they have no respect for a potential customers time. Another person posting here received similar treatment. Don't waste your precious time with unanswered calls and emails. Job: Drywall--demolish and Install new drywall and repair a patch; build shelves, and paint Recently we got a new HVAC system installed. The old HVAC system was in a small closet. We got the new one installed in the attic so that we can free up the closet space where the old one is and use the space. We engaged DH Drywall (Damon) to: i) repair the drywall and paint where the old HVAC return was, and ii) rebuild the closet (replacing the drywall on the inside of the closet, taping and sealing it, building shelves, and painting it) so that we can truly use it as a closet. Damon was very prompt in coming and meeting us and providing us with an estimate. He started the work as promised. Of the 2 items above, I will give Damon 5 stars on drywall work in the closet. However, I didn't like the repair/patch and the painting on the drywall where the HVAC return was. I give 3 stars. Overall work: 1) Very Professional and Hardworking. Always on time. I had an immediate need to have drywall replaced near my water heater as it was necessary in order to pass inspection. With multiple pipes going through the drywall, it seemed like a complicated job. My plumber who was working on the water heater said that he didn't know of very many good drywall people that could do this type of job (since it was pretty complex). But he did know one, Damon. He called Damon who gave a quote over the phone and set up time to come by to fix the drywall. He called Wednesday afternoon and set an appointment with Damon for Thursday at 9:30am...pretty solid. Damon arrived on time and with all the necessary parts (which was extremely important because the inspector was coming to review the work). He gave an assessment of how long it would take and got to work. He was extremely friendly and explained exactly what he was doing. Damon was quick coming on site. Showed that he is knowledgeable person. Beyond that the experience was not pleasant, took him several hours of MY time to: 1) figure out how much materials we need, at the end of the day I did the calculations 2) figure out how much he wants to charge for the job. It literally took us a week to come up with the number. Second day after we agreed on the date, his estimate went up 3K. I Oked that (btw, he wanted approximately $1500K just to deliver plywood/drywall). I did all the preparations to get the room ready for him (moved the stuff out arranged some further plans with other contractors). He showed up, I asked him to run approximately 10 feet of cable behind the drywall he was going to install (this is a 15K project btw). Running this cable is a 5 minute job. He got upset because he could not understand what I wanted to do with the cable... and left. I am not joking. So my take on DH Drywall and Damon: 1. They probably can do decent work (according to the other reviews). 2. The guy cannot produce an estimate, he is happy to do time and material (again 3 guys, 1 full day to just deliver 30 sheets of drywall). 3. He realized that the project is not easy, instead of telling me the price he wanted, he tried to find the way to inflate the price on items like delivery or dump fees. 4. You cannot rely on him. For residential jobs where you don't lose money if the guy does not show up or return calls, he is ok. When he needs to plan or provide estimates, he is a disaster. Bottom line, if you have a cookie-cutter project where deadlines and estimates are not important, you probably can get things done with Damon. Money-wise, he is not going to be particularly competitive. read more

I used Damon twice for my house drywall jobs. Both times he did wonderful job. He is on time, responsive, reasonably priced, and considerate. First time was about a year and half ago, I needed some part of ceiling and walls repaired and textured to match the existing walls. The work was done on time and well. On top of it, he even gave a discount because the job took less than he had anticipated! Today, I had him patch some cracks that developed around my window. I initally thought that the sheetrocks around the window had to be replaced, a bigger job. He took a look and recommended to re-tape and patch. We hired Damon to repair the drywall after we upgraded our electrical outlets so they would be up to code and grounded. Every room had several holes where we replaced the outlet boxes, and every room was a different color. What an excellent job! The drywall was repaired perfectly, and after his expert painter Peter was done, we couldn't tell that there had ever been any patches. They covered the hardwood floor in order to protect it and cleaned up afterwards. The house was spotless! We are thrilled with their work and can see why they earned such a high rating on Yelp. After having our general contractor come down with the flu and be unable to move forward on our kitchen remodel (we were living in the house with small children and trying to get a functioning kitchen installed quickly!) i urgently needed someone to get our sheetrock done after the plumbers and electrician's had finished their rough in.
