Definitely a place you'll want to visit in the cooler weather, 107F on a Saturday night was not comfortable at all. But a great venue. Although we were all dressed up for the 70s band, it was probably a mistake to visit in the summer heat. Entrance to the main performance area was delayed, so we were all forced to stay in the extremely humid, hot and wet open bar area for the longest time waiting 30 mins for the main area to open inside. In the open bar area our party was pummeled with industrial misters, which were a cross between cool and just soaking wet misters. Bar staff wete great at the start, then as the place got busy, ordering took a long time with no formal queues set up. Advice is to not leave a tab open at the open bar as the bar inside was a lot emptier and service was a lot quicker. Not many areas to sit at, what made things worse was the 1 largest table is reserved for the local medical college, who defended in hoards at 930 and inundated the bar making it very hard to order or close the tab. Water is a must, they have pots of water in the entrance but sell water at the bar, which was not cooled. Main stage area was massive, loud and luckily our group was able to get seats and the one table inside by the dance floor. Inside was drier, slightly cooler with no misters. A lot of folks were dressed in great 70s clothes which was clearly made uncomfortable with the amount of misterd in rhe open bar area. Although a short walk from the Marriott hotel, note that walk is unfortunately through a large homeless area. Valet parking was available, not published by the event. Wouldn't recommend walking back to the hotels just north at night. The band area was massive, 10 person band was excellent, but dance floor and stage was constantly being filmed, photographed by intrusive folks and if that wasnt bad enough, a sound guy with an ipad constantly moved through the dance floor, pushing you away to work on the sound, which was never perfected. Buy aside from that, we were a bit disappointed because the place wasn't what we expected. There's a fenced parking lot behind it- I entered it from the alleyway. It stated that there is a charge for events and to talk to security. There was nobody in sight. When security showed up, I flagged them down and they said they were going to lock the fence because they can't let anyone into the lot- it belongs to a school. They said they'd be back at 7pm to unlock for the event. I was allowed to wait in the parking lot for it to open back up at 7pm, meaning that I had no way to leave the lot. 10 minutes til, The Duce employees opened the fence on the other side of the lot. The person making the reservations, who arranged for us to park in this lot, was being blocked from entering the lot by "valet" because it wasn't 7pm yet and they wanted to charge everyone $20 to park. They had been told it would be free for everyone in our party but I guess that had changed. Since I parked before everyone else, it wasn't an issue for me. I ordered a strawberry limeade and some turkey sliders with Mac n cheese and green chili on top. I observed the bartender pick up the strawberries with his bare fingers, place them in my glass, and then use the muddle to blend them. I was a bit concerned about that. The sliders came out on very large toasted croissants. I am glad I didn't order 3 sliders. It was ok, it was more bland than expected. I could not taste the green chili or the Mac n cheese. What would really make it stand out is perhaps using a sharp cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack and getting spicier green chili. They came with coleslaw which tasted like it had cinnamon in it. I was here for a party where gifts were opened. We left them at the table while everyone mingled. I started noticing people that were not part of our group were beginning to approach the gifts, looking at where they were and stopping near them. I wouldn't leave any valuables out here even if you have a reservation. I used the online menu I scanned at the food booth. There was a very large variety of alcoholic drinks and they all looked very tasty. I wanted either the cranberry cobbler drink or the banana cream pie drink. Unfortunately, when I went to order these, they were not currently on the menu. I was limited to choosing from about 8 basic drinks. This is not located in the best part of downtown so I don't recommend you walk if you are at a hotel downtown. We saw many homeless while walking there and when we were done decided to do ride share back even though it was only 4 blocks. The Duce is a cute establishment but is not designed for a lot of people. We purchased tickets to see a 70's and 80's band that was scheduled to start at 7:30pm according to our tickets but the roll up door for the inside area didn't open until 8:30pm so we were stuck in the heat of the outdoor area. There aren't many places to sit and the one area outside that was like a massive picnic table was reserved for 100 medical students who never sat there when they eventually arrived. The bartenders are amazing. They make very complicated drinks with fresh squeezed fruit like lemons but there were only two behind the outside bar so it was difficult to place a drink order. When we eventually wanted to close out our tab we each had to get in a separate line drink as the bar was so understaffed. Suggestion: Pay for your drinks as you go into the evening so that you don't have to wait at the bar to close your tab. I understand that it is common for the Duce to host theme dance parties and they had an incredible 70's & 80's live ba with 9 band members on a tiny stage. I would love to see the band in a larger venue. We were off to the side and in front of the band and the entire time we were there, there was someone, who I think was with the Duce, constantly video recording mostly the band and sometimes the dancers. It was hard to enjoy the band with someone continually moving in front of us to video record. We were there for 2 hours and he never stopped recording. None of the areas of the Duce are fully indoors and during the summer be sure to dress for the heat. read more

I came for a spoken word poetry event. As far as the venue, I really liked the atmosphere. I look forward to attending other events that take place here. Definitely get there early for whatever event you may attend in order to find street parking. I'd say that could be a challenge. I returned to the Duce for the Melrose Vintage Market in June 2026 -- when I came in July of last year there was complimentary valet parking but this time it was $20!!! I was shocked but paid the valet since downtown parking is practically impossible in this weird industrial area. Plus there is a $5 "suggested" donation -- which I was happy to do since it was going to a LGBTQ non-profit (this was the pride theme for June) The inside was packed with people and vendors -- it was bigger this time than last year which was great. There was a lot of different vendors from records to vintage finds and then a number of crafty items. I did try a pomegranate margarita which was delightful! I wanted to try some food but they didn't appear to have anything vegetarian, which was a bit surprising but the food I saw people getting did look really good. They have a section to sit down and people watch so I did that for a while -- I needed to get make the cost of parking worth it, LOL. Overall it was fun but the parking cost was annoying -- I like the market when it is actually in the Melrose area but it is too hot for that now. I went to this location for the first time for our work holiday party on Thursday, December 4 at 6 PM. The staff was very friendly decorations was all over with the lights Christmas trees and more food was displayed in different areas of the establishment so you could be able to make your arrowing grab different items to set up was nice. My suggestion will be in the future to make sure your establishment also carries all types of wine, including sweet wine as well cause not everyone likes dry wine. Every time we were done with our plates or drink cups, someone was coming around, picking up all of the items. And also would like to have better music selection as well planned for our holiday parties. I wandered in here on a Sunday afternoon as I heard about the Melrose Vintage Market happening here and so glad I made it in! What a cool spot! This is a neat indoor/outdoor space in the Warehouse District of DTPHX! It reminds me of places I would go to in Brooklyn but add cactus and cowboy boots! Parking is always a disaster around here (like NYC) and I even saw lots saying $25 for event parking. There was a game going on, so people were paying those prices. Not me, you will find me dodging incredulous parking fees and will also at the same time get my steps in, a win-win situation. But when it's 115F outside, just know you're gonna be hot getting your steps in. Admission into the vintage market was $5 and you can bring your whole crew. I don't like drinking when it's hot outside as it dehydrates you even more, so I checked out one of their cool bars and got a Topo Chico. I was hungry after indoor climbing at my gym so I checked out their brunch offerings. There's another bar where the music stage is and the nice bartenders walked me to the brunch ordering area. I am in the closet about this but I love gravy and biscuits, a true Southern treat but not great for you lol. I ordered this dish and it was delicious. Biscuits and gravy are so filling and I could only finish half of it. Took the rest home. Lots of cool vintage wares here and I saw some really unique items like Gumby products which was big in my childhood. Lots of T shirts, jeans, jewelry, kitchenware for sell. My favorite part of visiting was discovering the band Twice Baked Band here. They played music that I love, classic rock/British flair. One of the lead guitarist also came up to talk to me, Adam, and he even invited me to more shows (and he's a former New Yorker, born in Manhattan)! Overall, such a lovely Sunday afternoon and will definitely come back again. But, I will need to figure out another way to get here. Deducted one star for parking wores. I checked out The Duce on a Friday evening for a Woodstock event. I took an Uber so I can't comment on the parking situation. Ambiance (5/5): This is one of the things that I liked most about this sprawling bar and restaurant. As you walk in, you'll see a retro bus that you can go in, and outdoor bar, and a rooftop (with its own bar as well). Which is a fun place to hang out when the weather cooperates. I spent most of my time indoors on this visit. The interior has several bars, stages, and plenty of seating. This includes picnic table-style seating, bar stool seating, and a few comfortable couches. I loved the aesthetic, overall. Even though I was there for a special event, I would definitely come on a regular night, too. Service (4/5): I ordered from the same bar the entire night. Friendly and efficient service. My only pet peeve? They don't give you an itemized receipt, nor do they give you a customer receipt, unless you ask. I hate when bars do this. Food (N/A): While they do have several food areas, including dessert, I had dinner prior. Next time around. Drinks (4/5): The Duce specializes in cocktails served in mason jars with fresh fruit and garnishes. They have a large menu with cocktails broken down by spirits including vodka, gin, rum, tequila, and whiskey. I tried three different cocktails and they were all delicious. Their most popular one is the strawberry limeade (vodka based). Think of a spiked drink from Sonic and that is what it tasted like (I may have done that back in the day ;)). The drinks aren't cheap but they're well-made. The Woodstock Summer of Love event was an awesome time which I would put on your list if they do it again. I was having a lovely evening at the Duce and then I got hit in the head by a guitar player during a performance. The player realized he hit me; and stopped performing, yet nobody from the Duce checked on me. I have a huge goose egg on my forehead and feel sick. You can see my forehead in my video. If your management asked how I was, which they did not; they should have notified a goose egg on my forehead, tears running down my face, and a concussed person who was dazed from being hit with an instrument. We had a great time at The Duce. Parking was kind of difficult, so we had to do a little walking. It is like a big warehouse with games (giant connect 4, table hockey) a boxing ring, Cornhole, hula hoops, etc. It's a fun atmosphere with a lot of places to take fun photos. The food was fine, and really reasonably priced. There are separate kitchen and bar counters, so you have to go here, then there. Not a fan of that. All in all it was a fun night. This place is located near the Footprint Center at the NE corner of Central Ave and Lincoln St. Parking is an issue here. They do have a small valet lot but it gets packed and it takes time to squeeze cars in and out. The alternative is street or garage parking if you can find it. The setup and decor are cool and the food overall is pretty good with some variety. They had both regular and vegetarian meatball slides. I did not have drink but they had quite a few options (see photo). We were there for a Christmas party and apparently they only do parties. The perfect night out! We came for the Rock and Roll live band plus burlesque show and our whole group absolutely loved this place. It has everything! They have multiple bars, they sell surprisingly really good food, they had a bakery and you could even get a tattoo. So many cool, creative ambients. Were a little confused about available parking as they had valet section but we didn't see anything else, so we wound up parking a few blocks away at a metered spot. Had a live band playing on a Sunday afternoon that was playing loudly via the speakers throughout the facility. Placed our order at a counter and took our number to a spot on the corner of a huge squared off picnic table arrangement that was covered in the outdoor portion. Food seemed to take a while, but server who brought our food was friendly. Shared the Hatch Mac & Cheese Muffins ($17), which were fine but were basically mac & cheese in a mini-muffin-like shape. I think 9 came in the order. We also ordered the Family Sampler Basket of 6 sliders ($35) and each of us had 2. I ordered the Reuben and the Melted Cheese Sliders, although they made a mistake and gave me just the Brisket instead of the Reuben, which they quickly corrected. It was OK, but I didn't love any of them. Not sure we would come back to eat as the value doesn't seem great for what you get. Latin night! We came here on a Thursday night ready for all the vibes to be thrown our way. We walked in to a huge room compartmentalized into a dance floor, boxing arena and huge dining area with high tops and large tables. Okay, Latin night--it was poppin here. Definitely would recommend coming for the good music and dancing, definitely entertaining regardless of if you want to dance or watch from the crowd, (like me and my friend did) haha. We were going to a concert really close to The Duce so we decided to check it out before the concert. Soooo glad we did. We arrived right when they opened so not busy at all. It is a huge place and they have indoor and outdoor areas. They have games all around (cornhole, big connect four, hula hoops, etc.) and it is nice and spacious. I could see it getting pretty busy. Everyone was super nice. The drinks were good and the food was good too. We ordered the brisket and the Chicago dog. My hot dog was really yummy- I really love Chicago dogs! The brisket was definitely not like TX brisket as they chopped it and sauced it. If you like it prepared that way, you will like it. The mac and cheese cornbread was pretty darn good. Really fun and neat place. We were here a while ago for the Final Four weekend, and this place was the official Purdue post-game place to be, with our beloved piano guy taking over the joint. And it's a very large joint, so if a Purdue victory party is not your scene (this was after the final four, not the final), then maybe a wedding suits you better. There was an entire wedding reception here that same day. I'm not sure who greenlit for us to be there, but I did feel for the bride whose wedding was marked by a bunch of singing Purdue basketball fans. Point is, the locals is sizable. There are lots of bars, and food maybe. We didn't get any food, it was super expensive and the lines and waits were astronomical. I'd love to be back on a normal weekend! read more

My company booked this place for an evening, and I had a great time. There were a couple hundred of us, and we booked the whole place. I can see how you can reserve certain sections as there are bar setups all around. The food we had was great, never any waiting, and the staff were terrific. We had the most amazing band where we could choose from over 300 songs for live karaoke. And THAT was spectacular. Good times! read more
