Mulligans Island - The theme is volcano, but it has a waterfall. Very confusing!

Oh the bathroom is up at the Pavillion and drinks too! Just bring food, a good attitude and hope for some sun! Footnote: a tick was found on a chair, just check yourself.

Wow it's so sad to see what this place has turned into. This is in regard to mini-golf only…read more A long time ago this was a very busy and popular spot. Now it looks kind of like creepy. The volcano used to erupt with fire which was so cool, each hole was very clean and now half of the plates around the holes move and can be lifted right up, most of the bricks around the areas are either not in tack and you can easily trip or hurt yourself on them or they're removed. It looks so rundown and some of the rocks on the green are even like broken. (Wish I would've took pictures) and before, at the end you would put your ball in this maze type thing and if it landed in the middle (kind of like plinko) you won another game, they did away with that awhile ago not sure why. So they have 2 paths you can go when you mini-golf. The volcano way or the boat way. They all need fixing and repairing. We just made the best of it but you got families getting bored and they just skip to the other path mid-way because they're impatient (they have rules posted not to do this). The family in front of us was using their time to hit water bottles around. It sucks because I used to love it here but it's like a ghost town, and with the prices they don't match the experience. Unfortunately there's no point in coming back unless they fix all these issues. I only gave 2 stars because the kids working there are just sweet and trying to make an honest living and I love that for them.

Can't say enough good things about this place. This is our second time going and it got even better…read morethan the last! It was our son's birthday and we told the waitress at breakfast and she went and got him munchkins. Such a sweet gesture. From the parking being included into your stay, to the convenience of using the wrist band to buy food, and every activity being near each other, this is such a great family getaway spot. We first thought it was going to be lame and not modern or up to date, but we couldn't have been more wrong. We also love the fact that every family staying there was for the waterpark and other activities and it isn't just a random hotel with a waterpark. Also the waterpark has areas and slides for every age. My son that hates thrills and rides went on Pequot plunge 8+ times! He def conquered a fear while being here. We will be back!

Room: 5/5 Waterpark: 3/5 Other activities: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Staff: 5/5 Value 2/5 Most families are going here for the waterpark, right? I didn't even know there was mini golf or gem hunting inside as this was our first ever visit to a GWL. For a brand new GWL and having to compete with the likes of places like Kalahari also springing up, I thought it was pretty lackluster. No racing slides, no drop slide. And even the "coaster" slide was over way too fast. Why didn't many of these stretch across the entire roof area? A lot of that portion in the middle seems wasted, even if the excuse is that the wave pool gets in the way. The lazy river might be one of the shortest I've ever experienced. The entire place was clean (although had a sewage smell in the back at times) and we enjoyed our time, I just expected ssssoooo much more and was disappointed by its size. But everything else, WOW. The food was excellent, did they steal the Pizza Hut recipe? I believe they have a partnership with Buffalo Wild Wings although I did not try those and the FatBurger partnership was star of the show. I was going to give it 4/5 stars for lack of healthy options but when I returned a burger that was supposed to be a double to the counter, the guy working was so nice about it and even said something that cracked me up, "you can throw that back at me if this one isn't a double". Just about every interaction with GWL staff was a five star experience and they go out of their way to make sure you are having a good time, it's Disney-esque. We loved the breakfast buffet also but after tip, doing this every morning is a $100 experience for a family of four. One of the many reasons the value gets knocked down a ton. The options were plentiful and it definitely made me LOL when I saw chicken nuggets and mac n cheese at 8 AM. They know their clientele. The other activities caught me off guard, even though every single thing is an upcharge. The pricing on the video games rubbed me the wrong way the most. You can always math them out and you are getting little value playing like 8 games for twenty bucks. The minigolf and bowling are both really great values for a quick experience. And the smallest gem mining bag costing under $15 was also a great experience. But everything else is fairly overpriced. Before you get to the waterpark and have breakfast, you may have already dropped an additional $250 on the day. This place knows how to open a wallet up but then it leaves the parents dissatisfied once its all over. The activities in the lodge are all free and I posted an idea of what takes place throughout a day. Don't miss the Luna story at bedtime, that was one of the best things I've ever seen outside of Florida theming. Our Wolf Den was the perfect size, even if the full beds scream "we wanted to save a few bucks". The kids always love little theming areas like this, they told me they just wished the lights could dim in there. It would be cool to have a nighttime effect with the way the walls are painted. No microwave in room but there is one down the hall for everyone to use. This isn't a "lets go every month kind of place". It may end up being a once or maybe even every other year kind of experience for us. Those very well off won't feel the pinch as much as we did, and I'll definitely never go during a school vacation week or holiday. It was busy enough and I thought we went on an off peak time, I can't even imagine the zoo this becomes during those times as some other reviews reflect.
