Consistently one of my fave pizza joints in Providence. Fun Atmosphere, and spacious, and has pinball! Cmon!! Pinball, people!! How great is that ? The pizza here is pretty large and always expertly made kind of in the NY style but with its own twist. My faves are the Roni( classic pepperoni pie) and the Strutter (sausage, onion and red pepper). Last time I was there I changed it up and got the King Tidal (bacon, pineapple and scallion) and it was killer. Also don't sleep on their wings. They are smoked instead of just fried and are out of this world. Cocktails here are no slouch either. Which you might not be expecting from a pizzeria. I recommend the bicycle operator. They also have a pretty extensive beer and cider list, if that is more to your liking. All in all, Pizza J is a must try pizzeria in a city that has a ton of great pizza places. read more

Fantastic pizza spot that has trivia nights, pinball machines, and just a really fun vibe. Our server was so knowledgeable about the menu and all the ingredients, and helped us make any modifications we needed for our food allergies. They also have an entire vegan menu, and we were very appreciative about how accommodating and accessible they were. We split some garlic fries (with a sub of vegan aioli) and one pizza (love that they could do half and half). We got a half of the Strutter (sausage and peppers) and half of the Neurotic Sasquatch (BBQ chicken), and both were fantastic. I swear everything the owner touches is awesome! Came here for Lord of the Wings and wow what a great SMOKED wing! Yes that's right! Juicy full of flavor, fresh! One of the only smoked wings I've had in the challenge and definitely one that would be hard to beat. But the pizza WOW! Huge pie, thin crispy no flop! I could have eaten the whole thing on my own embarrassingly enough. Full of toppings definitely a popular spot! I absolutely love Pizza J! Solid, classic, and consistent NY style pizza with great crust. They accommodate half and half toppings at fair prices and they also have delicious smoky wings (I like the sweet Thai chili sauce on the side)! Cute spot to eat in with a hip and quirky vibe from the decor to the pinball machines and themed bathrooms... and friendly service! The gluten free pizza was soooo good that we have ordered and picked up from there even though it's at least 30 minutes away. Last time I ordered the Arcimboldo but had it made with a white sauce. How have I never reviewed before ? We love pizza j and go fairly often. It's a fun atmosphere and def a place to hang for a bit. The staff is all super , always have had a great experience with them. They have a lot of craft beers you won't find anywhere else. Also lots of diff cocktails for those who don't drink beer. The menu is small but you can have so ain't diff kinds of pizza that you will find something for sure. Five of us split two pizzas and that was enough. We also had a bread pudding that was sooo good. 1) this review is only about the wrings. I have had pizza here and it's good. the staff is friendly and professional. 2) but yesterday as a over 60 person I was served the worst wings I have ever had. they were so over cooked and dry I couldn't swallow them and had to get water over and over. 3) I don't know if this is a one off, or a chronic issue, but don't get the wings or be prepared to send them back until the kitchen does a better job. Delicious thin crust pizza place in the Fed Hill neighborhood! First things first there's a couple parking spots out front which is nice! The ambiance is very casual and cool with lots of retro touches!! Originally came with some friends to grab some pizza to take home, but they told us the wait was around 1 hour when we got there around 7pm on a Wednesday night. So we opted to dine in as they said the wait may be closer to 30 minutes if we dine in! SO in the future if you're looking to get take out from this place, I would definitely call ahead at least an hour beforehand :) Regarding the food, I enjoyed it! The Tony Clifton was actually surprisingly my favorite pizza!! It's a vegetarian pizza, which I typically don't go for, but the flavors were all so great and meshed well! We also got their take on the Haiwaiian which I usually love but it wasn't as good as I had hoped because the pineapple pieces were pretty small and thin so the flavor did not come through as much. I've ordered takeout from here several times. I've tried both the Arcimboldo and the cheese with pepperoni pizzas. Both were really good; they had a thin crust and a flavorful tomato sauce. RI Food Fight Wing review: Don't order the wings! They are too smoked that it felt like I was licking ash. My chicken wing loving husband never leaves a wing behind. We walked away leaving 4 wings to be thrown out. BUT- EAT THE PIZZA! We went with pepperoni. It's good. The food fight coupon brought us in but we will now be customers. Love the atmosphere- eclectic. A mish mash of nostalgia and hip. Goonies was playing on the tv. The music was pushing out classic hits (I walked out rocking to wearing sunglasses at night.) The pinball machines were on par with the theme. When a place has a black toilet- they be fancy. I just like the vibe here. Oh- and if you check in on Yelp here, you get a coupon for a high five. I visited as part of #RIFoodFights #LordoftheWings competition and this was my first time trying their chicken wings. They're famous, of course, for their pizza which is delicious, so I wasn't sure what to expect on the wings. They were quite interesting and very yummy. They were smoked, but also very crispy, like they use a light batter on the wings. Limited but good variety of draft beer available.
