I had grown weary…read moreof my dermatologist after i discovered that the effects of acutane were merely temporary. With amber my skin went from not so great, to the worst it has ever been and then some. She told me time and time again that my skin would get better once my skin finished purging, I just had to trust her approach, and I was ready to believe. For four months, I got peels and extractions, and my skin got worse and worse. Rather than change her approach, she insisted that she was doing right. My skin would be tender and red for weeks after her peels, and I was still getting large painful breakouts. The last straw was when I came in with a large cystic lesion on my forehead. I let her dig into it until it became an open bloody wound bed, even though EVERYONE else in the business knows that you never try to extract a cystic lesion. I literally wore a bandaid on my head to keep it from getting infected. After that I went back to a dermatologist, a different one, but someone I felt I could trust. I now see the people over at Elise Deluke in williamsville. I still get peels, but my face is fine. My skin looks great, and they're not constantly trying to sell me products throughout my treatments. They consult with one another, too, so you know you won't become the victim of one person's hubris.

I felt like a teenager again, avoiding eye contact, caking on makeup... I was totally fed up. So I decided to make the plunge and see an esthetician for a facial. I was nervous but felt like I'd tried everything. Amber is knowledgable and makes you feel comfortable. She assessed my skin and suggested I make a few changes to my routine. I purchased some of the products she sells (ilike brand) and have enjoyed them all. The monthly visits and new routine have totally changed my skin. I'm so impressed with the improvements I've seen over the past few months. I am hopeful with regular visits and consistent home care I'll feel totally comfortable in my own skin!

Its founder gave this business a genuine mission: healthy products made with scientific basis from ingredients known for ages to work, that work beautifully, but with none of the modern chemical additives that make us sick. I can say that what they recommended for me after a careful consultation (with my wife who spares no details) worked better than any of the dozens of other products I have tried for the same problem over the years, and I feel better about how I look. Maybe that is why this place has such a fanatic following. I have met people who visit their East Aurora store from far away just to shop there. Word is spreading fast.

I don't even know where to begin with this one. From the very beginning I suppose?…read more Ever since I came of age, I've had acne. It always seemed to come and go in waves, sometimes my face would clear up and then a few days later it'd just explode with acne and puffiness. It was always chalked up to, y'know, puberty, chocolate, whatever. But where some people seemed to just "grow out of it" I only continued to struggle. I've tried god knows how many different products and brands to try and find a solution. Nothing really seemed to do me any good, so I'd go through phases of just not trying, getting hopeful again, getting disappointed. It was awful. My friend actually recommended me this place - she told me about how they'll actually swab your cheek to investigate the bacteria that grows on your face, give you a whole rundown of things you can do to get your skin back on track - and naturally I trusted her opinion, so I decided to give this place a try. When I visited the shop with her last week, they did just that - swabbed my cheek, and started asking me about my eating habits, blood type - literally all sorts of things that I had no idea could potentially be affecting my body in a way that causes my breakouts. I was tasked with doing a celery juice cleanse, and given a list of things I should try to avoid eating for a week in order to help my body to recover from some of the not so great things I've been putting in it. They actually gave me a good week's worth of different product samples (for free!), things they make in-house that I could try during my cleanse to see if they have a positive effect on my skin. Well, happy to say that one week later my skin has started to clear up a bit - I still have some breakouts, but my face isn't as puffy as it typically is, and my skin is sooooo much healthier after using these products. Like I said - Beauty Organix products are all made in-house. They also have a handful of other beauty product brands that are carefully selected and are only the best for your body. They have different face washes, deodorants, even makeup that's all picked with your overall body health in mind. Not only has coming here made a positive impact on my overall skin care routine and health, but it's impacted my eating habits and way of thinking as well! I've really started feeling so much better here overall since I've visited! I am so happy to give this great local spot my business and am looking forward to being a returning customer.

She truly takes care of your nails, from thoroughly removing dead skin and cuticles to being a total perfectionist with design and polish. I especially appreciate that she paints the full nail all the way to the cuticle -- one of my biggest pet peeves when it's not done! I'm so happy to have found my go-to nail person

I was able to get out of the house because I had a babysitter last minute so I came by to see if they had availability for a manicure and pedicure. There was a woman with a long ponytail that told me to come back in 30 minutes and they could do it. So I went and ran an errand and then came back. After waiting about 10 minutes in the front of the store, they called me to sit in the chair for my pedicure. There, I waited for about 40 minutes before anyone came and started. My water had gotten cold by then I wanted to leave, but I also really needed to get my toes done because I know I wouldn't have another chance anytime soon. meanwhile, a woman with down syndrome was sat next to me. She was waiting patiently and he actually told me that her appointment was at 2:15 and it was now 330. The guy comes over and finally starts my toes and about 15 minutes later, a woman comes over and starts on the woman next to me. The woman next to me had been looking in the nail book at designs and colors. She had brought the books 2 her chair to help her communicate what she needed to the workers. They removed the box and took them away. Then the worker asked the woman if she wanted acrylic nails, or her real nails. The one with down syndrome was very shy and I don't think she understood what they were asking so I asked her if I could help. I was able to support her communication to the workers. However, the man that was working on my toes was mocking her in their language. I don't know if they think I was born yesterday or if this woman With down syndrome lacked the abilities to see that they were making fun of her, but it was a disgusting display of ignorance. They were laughing. He was making gestures. I was disgusted. Fast-forward to me finally finishing my pedicure. I was supposed to get a manicure and then they told me they didn't have time. The woman who originally told me to come back, told her daughter in the front working the register that she overbooked everybody for the day and blamed her. My eyes and ears to see me? Was the older woman not the one who told me to come back herself today? This place is a joke. It's overpriced for the quality of service that I received. I will make sure to spread the word that this place is filled with ignorance. This environment is not friendly, welcoming, understanding, or professional. Stay far away.

I had a gel manicure and a massage done by the same person, which probably tells you something. The gel manicure looks awful - I can paint my own nails with more skill. Some nails are lumpy and uneven and on others the polish doesn't even come all the way to the tip of the nail. I didn't notice it until I got out into the sunlight or I'd have asked for them to be redone, but I don't really want to go back. The massage itself was just OK, but there was no discussion of what would be used (typically a scented oil of your choice, in my experience) and the massage therapist employed some kind of lotion that smelled cheaply and VERY strongly of fruit. Very cloying and the opposite of pampering or relaxing. I ended up going home and showering to get it off ASAP. The spa itself is rather odd. It is clearly a converted office building. The massage rooms are separated by yellow cubicle walls and there are fluorescent lights on the ceiling (not in use, thankfully.) No one else was there during my visit, but I can't imagine relaxing if one of the other stalls had been in use. It is nicely decorated, but it was obviously done on a tight budget. The reception area looks and feels like a doctor's office with slightly better furniture, and this is where you sit to wait for your appointment. No fluffy robes or cucumber water here! To be fair, it seems like the right intentions are there and the staff I encountered were friendly. If there were other reviews on Yelp, I probably wouldn't post one as it is not my intention to bash them. But as a consumer I want a better experience for my money, so I cannot recommend it to others.
