Cute little bar on the Danforth. We didn't eat anything, but it was a nice bar to have a drink in. Unfortunately they ran out of our beer selection (Delerium Tremens), but they have a decent selection otherwise. Service was great - very friendly and quick. read more

Enjoyed a lovely visit here with my hubby, his brother, his bro's fiance, and her sister on a Saturday night. We had reservations for my BIL's birthday down the road at Pantheon so decided to stop into The Edmund Burke before our dinner to have a couple of drinks. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Love that they offer local craft beers and ciders. I tried a local cider (I can't remember the name!) but it was delicious, not too sweet and on the dry side, just like I like it. The boys ordered a poutine while we visited as they were starving and said it was tasty. While I didn't try any of the food, the other patrons around us dishes looked yummy as they arrived to the tables. Would like to come back again someday soon to try a meal! read more

Burger was tasty, fish n chips were bad (fish tasted fishy and not fresh)...chicken schnitzel was crispy and I liked the spaetzle on the side (but pickled cucumbers would be better than the grilled veg it comes with). Really really friendly place to drink on the Danforth. Wandered in here to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city after a long day at work. It was vinyl night so there were some great tunes on like Kenny Rogers, Lou Reed and others. I had a great talk with the bartender about rare vinlys and it turns out they do this every week. Great service, a wide variety of drinks to choose from (including negronis, yum), and the food we had on our most recent visits (Fall 2021) was top notch. My partner and I shared the veggie flatbread, which I would 100% order again. I also made an exception from my typically-veggie diet to try the poutine, and boy oh boy is it worth it. Came here on a weeknight before a concert next door at the Danforth Hall. Strolling along, my friend and I decided to drop in here for a drink and some grub. The Eddy Burke has an inviting atmosphere that's cozy, chilled out and easy on the eyes that encompasses the true pub feeling. They've got a great selection of drinks regardless of what kind and they've got daily specials. For food they've got a great-limited selection that provides EB to focus on quality and presentation. Keeping it simple we both order a glass of wine to compliment the nachos and poutine. Both were in-house made, portioned and overall enjoyable. Cozy place. Stopped in for a drink on a Friday night. It was busy, but not packed. Decent beer menu. Not a ton of seating, wouldn't bring a large group there. There's bar seating, table and a few seats at the windows. Service was good. Gets loud in there when it's busy. Music was playing, but you couldn't hear it very well over the chattering of the lively groups. Would love to try the food, the reviews look fab! read more

Unwelcoming to say the least, some regulars are offended if you engage at the bar and the staff are quick to kick you out with their actions rather than their words. It makes it awkward that I have to pass the Burke to get food from there neighbour, as they denied me service 2 years ago without reason and I have found recently they have upheld a baring these past years. The owner is not professional. I was there today there. He took away my beer befor l finish it in the same time when I paid bill.. when I asked him why? He ignoring me ..at this point I didn't know he is the owner...I called another staff, he sait that he is the owner.... Great little intimate place that's great for drinks and pub fare. I came here for a friends birthday and it was wonderful, we had a great time. The staff is friendly and they know how to make great drinks. The selection of local beer on tap is great and they have a guest tap that features beer from local microbreweries. The poutine was amazing! They make a great Old Fashion and excellent Manhattan. I will definitely be visiting this place regularly. read more

Very sadly, this onetime gem has lost its sparkle. When owner not there music WAY too loud & staff at times ignore for full 10 mins while serving & socializing w/ their friends/regular bar patrons while we wait...& longhaired blonde woman dancing behind bar (truly)!! Then NO follow up on meal satisfaction, dessert, not even for more drinks (so selling less than they could/should). If we are ignored upon arrival, then have to summon the staff for everything, what are the 20% tips for? We are local business owners (who work WITH our staff). We go in twice a week, alone & w/friends, & stay only @ 1/2 the time, depending on music volume, reception (lack of) & which staff are there. Staff have seen us get up to leave yet did nothing! ENVIRONMENT COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WHEN OWNER NOT IN HOUSE. This is how you kill your business! Hire a chef but play nightclub volume music? Very disappointing to see such changes, so will not be recommending to others as we have long done. We really hope to see responses from the owner & then changes for the better. read more

Yas Edmund Burke!! You rule! The beer selection was unique and reasonably priced, plus you get a proper pint. The food was top notch. I got the fish and chips ($17) which were perfectly done even down to the coleslaw. My boyfriend got a fancy burger with blue cheese and bacon on it ($18) which he gave two thumbs up to. Portion sizes were huge and so worth the money. This pub is right beside the Danforth Music Hall so it can get busy if there's a show on. We were just 2 people so were easily seated but it would be hard to bring a group here during peak time. The atmosphere is cozy and classy but also welcoming. Big fan of the Edmund Burke. Been for dinner, drinks, and breakfast several times and each has left me happy. I've had the burger a few times (tasty) and for breakfast have bounced between a traditional offering (eggs, meat, toast, homefries) and the specials (some great omelettes). Staff is fantastic as well, very warm. Highly recommend! For what it's worth, when I search online (or here) for breakfast/brunch options in the area it doesn't come up for newcomers to discover. Great local spot with friendly staff, reasonable prices, nice menu choices and good tunes (not too loud so you can actually have a conversation). Fave is their chicken schnitzel with spätzle that is sautéed to give is a nice crispness and taste. Had it twice now and consistently great each time. read more

Sweet Baby Jesus this brunch was perfection. Served from 10:30-3:30 on Sunday and quite possibly the best breakfast I've had in Toronto! Think gastropub without the wait times or pretentious vibe. Good music, chill vibe and excellent service by the bartender. I ordered "The Standard" (eggs, bacon, delicious garlic rosemary potatoes and homemade brown bread). My boyfriend had the "Eggs Purgatory" which was quite possibly the best brunch plate I've ever stolen bites from. Turkey, pulled pork, ground beef, egg amazingness- so amazing I decided to write my first and likely only review of 2017. Cozy little neighbourhood bar that opened up a couple months ago in the Danforth area. Good list of classic cocktails and beer on tap. They have a shorter menu going right now as they are transitioning with chefs but I'm excited to see what their proper menu will look like. They also have two rotating taps! read more

One of our favorite stop-ins when on the Danforth. A quiet, intimate spot with yummy meals and a great variety of beer! What can be better. Great for a date night or meeting up with friends. The food has been consistently good, thought some items are portioned smaller than you may expect, so just ask the super friendly staff. Daily specials have also been pretty great. We love the nacho's, the are well distributed with all of the fixin's. Other favs are the mac and cheese, the burger is pretty good - and I'm a picky burger girl. Great atmosphere and service. My husband and I went to explore Danforth and stumbled upon this gem to celebrate our anniversary: attracted by the $6 wine special, we walked in and discovered a quaint cozy dining room with only about 30-40 seats and possibly the best burger I've tried in 4 years living in Toronto (stole a bite from my husband). Flat brad was flavourful and I especially enjoyed the candied walnuts that added a punch of flavour to the prosciutto and the goat cheese. With different specials every night, we'll be sure to venture out from the Village many more times. read more

A new "local" for the Danforth. A serendipitous discovery before a concert at The Music Hall and a very welcome addition to the Danforth. The Edmund Burke is a friendly and unpretentious eatery that is a hybrid London/New York neighbourhood "go to" place. Eclectic and friendly. Our first visit met with personable staff who did their best to meet our concert timing, along with recommending great ice cold local beer, Sidelauch from Collinwood. Affordable wines by the glass. Limited drinks and food menu but selected with care. We had excellent burgers, side salad with slices of fresh radish and house made vinegrette. We will return, concert or not. read more

I'll start with three stars. The place looked legit, and was clean with a decent atmosphere. I asked some dude behind the counter if I could move a table over to accommodate the four of us. He said sure. It appears I was overzealous in my movement of the table and knocked over a salt and pepper shaker. Instead of correcting my behaviour and pointing out my error the dude kicked me out of the bar. Customer service wasn't exactly his strong suit I guess. Went in today for a drink and to check this spot out. The bar tender would not serve me a drink. Said I was drunk when I had not had a drink all day. I went over to Allen's and got myself a nice cold beer. I go out with my family in this hood 1-2 times a week and this is a first for me. We've been living here for eight years now. I usually check out the spots and then bring my family. My girlfriends and I all ordered their burgers...we waited for 30 minutes. I asked the bartender if our food was ready, and he says oh they're still cooking it in the oven?! When we got the burgers, they were very pink and looked liked they were melting. The bartender and chef tried to convince us it's pink because of 'paprika'. Bar tender forces us to pay even we told him we weren't going to eat it for fear we might get sick. He only apologized and took away out food after I mentioned I would write a review.
