The servers were really nice and friendly. The butternut squash soup was really nice thick and creamy. I felt like the portions were just right and I did not feel like anything was too greasy. It is a great place to eat with your friend or significant other. I thought it was a very cool vibe and matched the name of the restaurant! I came here for lunch to catch up with a good friend from high school who was home for the holidays! Wow, Brick & Tin and the entirety of Mountain Brook village were packed! Parking was a bit difficult on this day, but that's to be expected with the holiday shopping traffic. I love Brick & Tin. It's upscale Panera in the best way. Their brisket sandwich and soups are absolutely incredible. I always recommend this place if you're looking for a nice, fast-casual lunch. I got the farro half salad and added chicken. This was the perfect lunch. Great flavor, squash, some greens, farro to keep you full (I believe this is an ancient grain), I feel like I checked every box on being healthy for the day. The dressing is delicious and not overdone. They've got bar seating, two tables for larger groups, and then booth seating along the walls. It's been years since I've been to Brick & Tin and I'm so glad that I got to go back! They're a semi-casual dinner/lunch spot in Mountain Brook Village that has sandwiches, salads, and plates. They have seasonal menu items too, and I appreciate that they source certain items seasonally to ensure high quality, fresh ingredients! I ordered the Sesame Chicken Bowl and loved it! It had so many toppings that complimented each other well. It's well balanced with veggies, protein, and carbs and doesn't fall short of flavor! I really liked the chicken, it's lightly fried and had a sweet glaze. The staff were super friendly- our cups never lacked water and our food came out in a timely manner. We were lucky enough to find street parking near the front of the restaurant. Orders are taken at the bar area and then you can locate a place to sit. Beverages and meals are brought to your table by the friendly workers. There's an eclectic array of items on the menu from which to choose. Several things stood out this time, including the sweet corn soup, sesame chicken bowl and the chic & tin. I should mention that all the breads are made fresh in the attached bakery. Having enjoyed the Mtn Brook location I was somewhat disappointed in the new Cahaba Heights location. First off the interior seems much less casual upscale imo. My friend ordered the patty melt which looked like a $2.50 childrens meal sandwich. Bread was barely toasted and the patty was as thin as paper. Pretty skimpy sandwich. My bluebird salad was very good and fresh but to say it was salty would be an understatement. Our mushroom soup was great and also the Mac and cheese was great. read more

They have a full bar which is nice, seating can be hard to get when it's crowded but service is super friendly. Wanted to explore Mountain Brook area here in Alabama, decided on Brick & Tin and so glad we did because it was Delicious! Dang I wish would have I remembered to take pics but I was so excited about the food I totally forgot!! We had the Pork Belly Lettuce Wraps and the Susie Q Panini with a side of the Autumn Vegetable Salad. Good grief it was awesome!!! Definitely a nice change from burgers or a chicken sandwich with fries or chips. This is my third time visiting Brick & Tin and I can't believe I'm just getting around to a yelp review. Anywho, this go round we had the sweetest and most attentive server, hate I can't remember his name. We went during the lunch hour and they had a pretty big rush and not a ton of seating which led us to the bar. I always get the brisket which is incredible with a side salad. I tasted my friends summer salad and it was so fresh and yummy. I'm not much of tomato girl but it was good. My other friend couldn't stop raving about her tomato pie. WOW. Absolutely amazing food that is to die for. I wasn't even very hungry when we went here for lunch but I ended up clearing my entire plate because the food was absolutely divine. My partner and I both got Panini's. I got the brisket panini which was perfection. The meat was sweet and tender and went perfect with the soft, homemade bread. My partner got the chick & tick - the chicken was so crispy and the pickles were a wonderful addition. We both got the seasonal farro salad as a side and that was delicious!! Ohhh, where do I start. This is an amazing restaurant with great service the severs are even remembering my family. They would say "the curly hair is Dr.pepper". I like the tavern feel throughout the restaurant. The lights give a home type feel. The food is amazing, I love the butternut squash and grilled cheese. You just lost a long time customer. My wife ordered take out from what was once one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. We've had issues with incorrect orders in the past but tonight was the last straw. Not only was my wife's ordered wrong went we got home but we promptly called back to let the restaurant know we would be returning back for an exchange. Order was not ready when we got there (or even after waiting 15 min.) Asked for a refund. Refund given incorrectly and was a hassle to process (tax not adjusted). Pains me that we had even left a tip when originally picking up the incorrect order (which obviously was not returned either). The incompetence of the manager is beyond words and obviously customer satisfaction was not a priority tonight. This is a popular place which I know won't blink at losing just one customer, but personally I cannot continue to subsidize such entitlement. Great spot for lunch in downtown Birmingham! I ordered at the counter to take my food to go, but the space looks super nice with lots of tables and a large bar. The woman who took my order was very nice and accommodating with my special requests on my sandwich. She also recommended the soup even though I was deciding between something else that would've cost more. Which I always appreciate the recommendation when it doesn't have anything to do with the price of what I'm considering (if that makes sense). I ordered the lady marmalade and sweet corn soup. The sandwich was very good and quite different having an orange marmalade spread. It was a good balance with the turkey and fresh bread. The soup was hot and tasty! It was a sweeter soup, but I enjoyed the true sweet corn flavor. This is the perfect place for a lunch date or a out of office lunch break! Very disappointing. Ordered a tomato panini, waited over 20 minutes, even though we were the only people in the restaurant (more people came in, but only after we had ordered). Panini came out ice cold but with grill marks on the bread! Why bother grilling it (like a panini) and then serving it cold?? When I said it was cold, the waitperson said she'd go back and tell the kitchen. She returned to say her kitchen manager appreciated the feedback. Are you kidding me? No apology, no "we'll remake that for you," no taking it off the bill or saying "we'll do better next time?" Whatever. I guess their business is so good they don't have to care about customers? First visit to Brick & Tin. We met a few others during lunch (group of 5). Parking was a small challenge but we found someone who was leaving. The food... delicious! I started with the mushroom soup (I like mushrooms and I like soup, why not). It was good. Nice creamy texture, just the right amount of thickness. Will order again. I also tried the pork tacos. Hands down, the best lunch we've had in Birmingham. They use the freshest ingredients and make sure every dish is prepared just right - tasty and plentiful. We could base our entire review on the exceptional service and friendly staff, but without a doubt the food is phenomenal. Fresh ingredients and well presented. The mushroom soup had to have been the best we've eaten, the salads and sandwiches are top tier. Suzie Q, which is smoked turkey, fresh ricotta, lettuce, sprouts and roasted sweet peppers has become one of our favorite sandwiches when we stop in for a lunch; and the Autumn Vegetable Salad with butternut squash, roasted mushrooms, pecans, and a soft boiled egg over greens a great Go-To salad. Both dishes were flavorful and perfectly balanced. This restaurant exceeded all our expectations. You do not often find a place where every element comes together so perfectly. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and have heard such great things about it, but I definitely didn't order the right thing. We went for dinner and enjoyed sitting outside. It was a cute building and the staff were all friendly. I went with the New Orleans sandwich. I thought it would be well seasoned and maybe even have a little spice, but this tasted like straight salt. The bread it came on was good, but the rest of the sandwich was not to my liking. The food here was close to perfect! There were so many menu options that looked good to me, it was hard choosing just one thing. It's pretty affordable too with my meal being about $15-16 after tax and tip which is good for a sit down restaurant. I ordered the Lady marmalade panini with the farro salad on the side. Three out of the four people in my group ordered this exact sandwich and side. The panini was amazing, possibly the best one I've ever had! I loved the turkey, cheese, and apricot marmalade. The farro salad was delicious! Like nothing I've ever had. It had the lightest sweet flavor that just paired perfectly with the savory flavor of the panini. It makes me want to learn how to cook farro at home! The atmosphere of this place was nice. The servers were all very young men like high school/college aged and they all seemed to be having fun working together. Coming in at 5:00pm on a Saturday we were one of the few tables.
