Last time we visited, we purchased some of the chimichuri sauce. Do you remember the commercial for Franks's Red Hot when the elderly lady said she "puts that #%!@ on everything?" Tonight we added the chimichurri to baked potatoes, naan with hummus and feta, guacamole and marinated mozzarella balls. The flavor of the sauce is sooo good and seems to enhance EVERYTHING!!! I've been here several times, both the current location and when they were at Findlay Market, and I've never had an empanada I didn't like. I've taken several people and they have all had a good experience, as well. I'm also borderline obsessed with the side salad. Tried for the first time last night. Absolutely amazing. The restaurant was spotless and in order with everything clearly marked. I am horrible with names but I believe the young man attending to my order was one of the owners. He was polite, patient and respectful. I mentioned this place to my brother who is currently battling cancer. I showed him the menu and we are going to dinner there next week. This is a good sign for all. If he's willing to make the trek just reading the menu, he will be pleasantly surprised by the quality and care with the food and it's preparation. The empanadas are delicious. I bought a box at the beginning of November, put it in my freezer for nearly a month, and finally heated the empanadas up today. What a gem! Visited the Findlay Market for the first time and this restaurant caught my eye right away. We did a loop around and knew right away this was our spot!! The storefront is bright and decorated with fresh bouquets and plants. You can order fresh empanadas or pick out frozen ones to take home for later. There were so many options and they all sounded delicious. I ordered the meal which came with two empanadas of your choice and a side + drink. We ate our food inside and was offered a spicy sauce as well! Yum!!! Service was fast and food was delicious. I would definitely go back! The owner was gracious and very patient with us as he explained the different varieties and the accompanying sauces and their classic Argentinian chimichurri sauce. I stopped by today and got two empanadas for an afternoon snack. The Buenos Aires one (traditional ground beef, peppers and onions) was as good as any empanada I ate on a vacation to Argentina a few years back and the Filipino one (ground beef, onion, potato, carrot, green peas, and raisins) was equally good and a bit unique! You could tell that high quality ingredients were used and the pastry was the perfect thickness, texture and taste. You can tell that these recipes have been perfected! The pink salsa that accompanied my empanadas was also very good and complimented them well. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Next time, I will also take some frozen ones home for later! read more

I am so happy that I found this place! I was walking around OTR and was wanting a quick bite and walked right by here, and empanadas sounded especially good that day. The empanadas were fantastic and took no more than 5 minutes to get to us after we ordered. I tried out the Philly and the Buenos Ares empanadas and they were both absolutely phenomenal - the shell was wonderfully crispy and the fillings were so flavorful. They also had the option to shop in their freezer section to take the pre-made empanadas home and cook them yourselves and I am definitely going to do that the next time. After reading about this new spot on Pike and Russell in Covington I decided to check it out and grab some empanadas to go. It was late in the afternoon so I was able to park right out front. The atmosphere is airy, with updated decor. There's a few tables inside to enjoy your food right there. You order at the counter where they have an array of freshly made empanadas on display. The order taker, whom I believe may have been the owner, was friendly and suggested buying them frozen and heating them up later since I wasn't planning on dining in. You can purchase the empanadas individually for $4/ea or 8 for $25. You can mix the flavors up anyway you like. They have several to choose from that include both sweet and savory. I picked up a box of assorted 8 that came with house made chimichurri sauce on the side. I couldn't wait to try one when I got home. I heated up for about 10 minutes. It did not disappoint. It was very tasty. These would be a great side item at a party or to enjoy as a meal with a side salad. I will definitely go back. read more

Y'all I can't even.. I saw this place on Yelp and decided to swing in for a tasting. That tasting caused me to leave there with 20 additional empanadas to take home to enjoy, after having lunch there! The staff was very warm, welcoming and just all around very pleasant to be around. But the food was extraordinary! It was so hard to decide which flavors to start with so we each got 3 different ones to sample and share. A couple of bites into our meal, we knew we'd be taking some home. ( 3 hours trip south) And thank goodness they ship, because I will not be able to continue this life without a steady supply of Diego's empanadas of happiness! You can truly tell the quality of the ingredients they use in every bite. The Buffalo chicken and the Capri were good but just couldn't hold a candle to others we tried. The Jamaican is packed with flavor and I enjoyed the Cincy Chili one and appreciated what they were trying to do there but it didn't make my to go order. The short rib one is life changing. The Miami is perfection and that is from someone who hates pickles. The Louisiana and pork belly ones will have you calling on all things holy.. trust me on this.
