I decided to go by myself first to make sure they were the real deal and let me tell you that my expectations were surpassed by a lot! I was born and raised on the Island (Puerto Rico) so believe me I know what I'm talking about. Stopping at Mr. G-Pleta is a MUST if you're in the area. The food was delicious; the bread was soft and sweet-ish (just like sobao bread on the island), the pork was seasoned to perfection, and the piña colada was the final refreshing touch. If you're Puerto Rican, stop here to feel at home, and if you are American, give Puerto Rican gastronomy a try! You will not regret it! The empanadas are hands-down my favorite, they instantly take me back to childhood, reminding me of one of my favorite comfort foods growing up. Crispy, flavorful, and totally satisfying.
