I'll update my rating because I realize I was a bit harsh with only 2*, and I do want to support harp stores, but it was the average of my 3 visits to this store, and if you read my old review I had a lot of positive things to say as well. Maybe things have been better for other people in recent years. I moved away and haven't been back, so I don't know. Please see previous review for more info. I agree with all the other reviewers about the (usually) friendly employees, great selection of music, harps, etc. Very generous with sharing knowledge, giving advice, etc. Another reviewer is telling me to "Get over it!," so to respond: Yes, all harpists know that strings can break for any reason, or no reason at all. Strings break just because they feel like it. Strings break when you look at them the wrong way. My complaint was that while strings from another store did not break with abnormal frequency, and the old strings on my harp were not breaking with abnormal frequency, the strings I bought from this store did nothing but break. Constantly. In different places on the string, so it wasn't due to a rough edge on the harp or anything. Maybe the strings were old, maybe they were stored in bad conditions, or maybe they were shipped from the manufacturer to the store defective. In the 5/6 years since, I've never had strings that bad, so who knows. If the store cared, they could've gotten back to me and never did, and if they had demonstrated good communication my review would've likely been 4 or 5*. $160 is a pretty penny to waste when you're 22 years-old and making minimum wage. read more

Fantastic resource center for both lever and pedal harpist! Expansive sheet/book music for all levels and styles. Supplies in abundance. Excellent teachers. Good inventory of pedal and lever harps both on consignment and new. Knowledgeable and helpful staff who will take the time to really listen and try to find the best harp for your needs. The Enchanted Harp is a one of a kind store here in the pacific northwest. Harp stores in general are becoming few and far between. I have rented a Ravenna 34 in the past, and I was impressed with their rentals. To this day I regret not buying that harp because it held tune so well! I also purchased a Pedal Harp from this store, and I currently take harp lessons here. Very friendly staff and a peaceful, positive environment overall. Harp strings are expensive, and can break due to a change in weather or season. Get over it! Harps are not cheap, and strings can break at any time for a number of reasons. However this store is a full service harp center for ALL your harp needs. They even where able to make a custom carrying case for my used pedal harp I purchased. The music selection at the enchanted harp honestly is extensive. You can find practically any type of music related to the harp that you are looking for. I have not tried to sell a harp through the enchanted harp, but how many people are looking for $5,000-$15,000 musical instrument on a regular basis? Cars are cheaper than some of the harps they carry, but their prices are reasonable! If you are interested in playing the harp, or anything related to the harp, I highly recommend this store. read more

The Enchanted Harp is a excellent store with phenomenal teachers. I have actually been taking violin lessons there for about four years. When I started, I didn't know anything about the violin, and four years later, I can read sheet music and play comfortably even if I don't know the song very well. To be honest, I do not practice as much as I should because of my busy work schedule, so I attribute most of my growth in playing the violin to my teacher; he has a remarkable way of making something as simple as playing an instrument come alive and become a part of you. He listens to the concerns or questions you have and genuinely cares about his students. Rob and Laura both have a love of music and a sincere, attentive desire to help their students become the best they can be. Their knowledge of music and instruments is extensive and they are passionate about sharing it with others. They also have an incredible selection of new and used harps, whistles, violins and everything in between that you might need. If they don't carry an item, they are always willing and helpful to contact suppliers and get you the best price/quality shipped to the store. I could go on forever, if you are looking to learn the harp, violin, piano, guitar or simply looking to buy, you will not find a better place in the Pacific Northwest! read more

I love this store! I live out of state, but visited when I wanted to buy a larger harp. I purchased a Camac Trianon harp from them after visiting the store several times and trying different harps they had on the floor. The owners were really helpful and informative, patient with all my questions and the hours I spent there. They encouraged me to take my time. They pointed out different aspects of each harp and I have been thrilled with the harp I purchased. I went back a year or so later and bought a smaller Camac harp, an Aziliz, for travel portability, and I love it too. I sold my Dusty Strings harp on consignment with them. They are honest, knowledgeable, and great to do business with. I always buy my harp strings and music from them. Everything has been excellent quality and service. The Enchanted Harp is a great place to learn, try out harps, and buy intelligently. read more
