Location is good. that's about it Maintenance of the apartment building isn't important to them, in my opinion. it's not a gated parking garage as advertised.. in and out gates have been stuck open for months HVAC unit in apartment has mold and rust. The hvac unit filter once had a block of ice..they sent an outside hvac company and they sat at my kitchen table for 30 minutes and did nothing Apartment randomly flooded by the bedroom door one day. I'm not confident they spent enough time drying the rug of water. Water under rug = mold eventually Their Elevators make me nervous. Very slow, unsure they are inspected often. All floors in and around elevators are gross. Hallways are yucky. Go look at floors 2 and above... somewhat of a health code violation. % of residents are low-income residents. I think my unit has brand new carpet and the flooring is nice. Fresh paint to move in. Check the dryer hook ups - mine was out of plastic which is a solid fire hazard. I paid $400 to have it replaced and the dryer vent cleaned out because I was so worried about a fire hazard from the dryer. read more

Run as fast as you can away from here. Not worth the money they charge! Their advertisement of DISTINGUISHED & SOPHISTICATED LIVING is a joke- the place is ghetto- the secure parking garage is nonexistent- the gates are broken 7-8 months out of the year. People throw their trash all over the parking garage. The first floor is well lit and smells amazing. the rest of the floors are dimly lit and smells bad. the colors are dark green and brown. the walls are a puke beige and dirty. The carpets are disgusting. The trash chutes are always overflowing up to the fourth floor. The hours of the office are a joke- no one is ever there, staff is rude. Dogs pee in the elevator and stair well despite the signs that are posted to clean up after your dog- no one does. The pool is so small, a family of 10 would be crowding the pool area. If you are paying more than $700 a month for any size apartment, you are paying too much. I would have to rate Maintenace with 5 stars. they are on point and go out of their way to help and to fix problems. Maintenace staff is professional and pleasant. read more

You pay somewhat cheap for the area, but it is what you pay for. There are several floors where the residents are loud and messy. Trash sometimes is stacked outside the chutes and those floors are smelly. Trash is left in the elevators on occasion and there are a lot of signs of wear and tear. Some areas smell like weed and there are odd stains and puddles from negligent tenants. There's a gated garage, but the garage doors are open half the time so people can just drive in whenever. There were occasions of theft reported in those "secure" garages. Packages are a bit of a roll of the dice. Sometimes they're left in the mailroom. Sometimes they're left by your front door. There have been times when it has been left out in a different apartment complex next door. They share an address with the row of shops downstairs so uber drivers and doordash drivers never know where you are. My biggest gripe is this: I had a loud and exhausting neighbor downstairs. They were loud and playing music that I could feel through the floors. This would continue on weeknights well into 2:00 AM. I would complain and try to resolve this to the neighbors. When they did not stop, I figured that the apartment complex would help me right? They talked to them, but it would continue. After months and months of this occurring, I went to the complex several times, but it didn't really help. I was just told "ah we can't do anything or evict them, so you just have to call the police for noise complains. Then we can document it". But how many times would I have to call the police? How many times would I have to go to the front office? Turns out it is a lot of times. So don't expect the complex to really honor quiet hours or help at all. It only ever really ended when they moved out eventually after years of me dealing with this. This is not the only neighbor. Above me, lots of running. Next to me, also music playing. The walls are thin and the quality of the tenant here is...subpar. I had exhaustion some nights a month from this and I was starting to get sleepy when I drove. This started to affect my physical health and my work. When brought up it was always the same answer "we'll talk to them". Didn't help. When I moved out, I told the office I would be leaving around 4:45. They assured me they would be here until 5:00 when they close. Lo and behold when I came at 4:30, they had already left for today. I had to slip the keys under the door, feeling weird about it. They never even emailed me saying "oh we got the keys". This is not the first time it happened and the office can be pretty spotty on their actual physical time in the office. You have to take time out of your busy day to play tag and catch them. Fairly unprofessional. One time, when my water wasn't working, I called the emergency line for help from the maintenance team. Nobody came. In the end, it came back on after a few hours but the emergency line is clearly a feel good box to reassure you they have your back, but they clearly don't look at. Furthermore, when I moved out, despite there not being signs and the fact that everyone throws furniture trash in the downstairs trash room, I did so when I left. Before this building was bought out by a separate leasing company, we had been doing so for years. However, they somehow "caught me" and charged me $250 dollars; saying they "added it to the lease when they bought the building". Also, despite my lease ending on the 28th, they charged me 3 extra days rent for the full month, so their accounting and ledgers are a mess. Overall the management of this apartment is sloppy. The ledgers are sloppy, and when you really need them for emergencies or noisy neighbors, they are not there for you. There is an air of unprofessionalism and a "you're on your own" vibe. Not all is bad though. Regular maintenance requests are extremely fast and usually get fixed in a day or two. The maintenance guys are nice and know what they're doing. Heating is really good in this place and you rarely have to turn on the heat in the winter as the insulation is so good. It's a good neighborhood and it's convenient in the area. I just wish I had a more dependable management team. read more

My husband and I moved in here in April of 2016. By far the cheapest apartment you could find in Southpark, so they automatically gain points for that. We were getting a two bedroom for under 1.2k which is almost unheard of for this area. After we signed our contract though, we learned that it is because a certain amount of apartments are designated as low-income housing. We didn't qualify, but we suspect that is what drove the price down. It's a good place to live if you don't care about a bunch of frills. We looked at an apartment complex right next door where we could get a 620 sq foot studio for slightly more than what we were paying for our spacious two bedroom. We kind of felt like at next door, you're paying for a nicer pool, a slightly larger gym, and monthly events (that we probably wouldn't go to anyway). Ashley Square has a tiny pool and a small gym but we pay for a gym membership anyway so that didn't matter as much to us. The staff here is super friendly, there's a covered parking garage (that is residents only and are required to have a fob to even enter), and it's cheap. We signed another year lease, and they did increase our rent a little this year, but it's still a heck of a lot cheaper than Solis or other places in the area. Occasionally the hallway smells a little weird and sometimes you can hear some loud kids in the courtyard. But they have a cleaning staff come in regularly to clean the hallways and you'll get loud people anywhere you go. I wish the kitchen was a bit more updated and I wish that there was less carpet in the apartment. But hey, for what we pay, we aren't too unhappy. read more

I've been living at Ashley Square for over a year now and just renewed my lease for another 15 months. By far the best living decision I've ever made in my life. This location is just unbeatable and they offer the most affordable rent for the South Park area. Anything and everything you need is literally within walking distance. I do not drive and there's no better place that can be this convenient. I remember becoming awfully ill and was blessed to know that the hospital was a block away from the apartment. Whole Foods, Rite Aid, Starbucks, South Park Mall, Regal Cinemas and tons of restaurants are practically your neighbors. Everyone should desire to live here! But to top off everything...I'm in love with the kind & supportive staff, especially when they were generous enough to work with me at a very hard time in my life. I'm tempted to leave my phone number on this review and be proud to talk to strangers one on one about living here. Ever since the new management company took over this place has been a mess!! The office is disorganized and one of the women working there is insanely rude. The Management Team is legitimately top notch here. They are so helpful, kind, and all around amazing. I have been here nearly two years now and have become very close to them. Maintenance is in the same boat. They have even stopped by to help me with a non-emergency issue on a Sunday. Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy. I moved into Ashley Square in July of 2015. We all make mistakes. Although the staff in the leasing office is kind, that's all the positive feedback I have for the community. The rent prices are ridiculous for the little to no accommodations. When I moved in the, apartment smelled terrible. The carpet had bleach and dirt stains but the office insisted that it didn't need to be changed. After some back and forth, the manager agreed to have the carpet cleaned. The carpet still looks less than desirable but in fairness the smell hasn't returned. When I moved in they claimed that parking garage was private for residents only. Now 9 months later they are reserving the best part of the garage for retail who now has access to the stairwell that also leads to the rest of the building. So much for privacy and safety. They used the typical corporate speech to try to convince me that giving up my parking space was not a lost benefit and assured I would be safe because of the employee background checks. Many of us work with people we don't trust everyday so it did not invite a lot of confidence. Especially since employees can now let on their friends as well. This is not to mention that the pool and the work out room are an absolute joke. The hallways always smell like human waste and I'm pretty sure I've seen feces smeared along the wall before although didn't stop to examine more closely. The elevator also smells bad and the entire facility is outdated and dirty. Pay attention to the furniture in the club house. The apartments themselves are poorly constructed. The floor on the balcony on the apartment and in the unit is uneven. The countertops aren't level. Cheap materials for cabinets used throughout the units. Not to mention TINY. They are charging south park prices based only on location. Everything else about the building and now garage are truly awful. Run. read more

We had planned to move somewhere and less than 3 weeks we had to change where we were going to live. Someone had recommended a few places for me to try out with AS being our first choice. I called in and spoke with Shani and set up a tour time with her. She was so helpful and sweet over the phone I couldn't resist NOT going in to meet with her. When i got there she was so friendly and informative about my needs. She actually listened to what I was looking for and helped me out ever since. To make this long story short, Shani has been so patient and kind throughout the process of looking for a new place to call home. I have been living here since March of 2019. The complex is extremely well maintained. The few minor repairs I have needed (A/C condenser charge and smoke alarm battery change) were done immediately, perfectly and cheerfully. The neighbors have all been friendly. They have occasional community events that are well done. But what makes this place top notch is the staff. They not only do a great a job in helping with anything, but they do it with genuine warmth. A repair, a package, a question, help of any kind, whatever I need I always come away from each interaction with any and every member of the staff in a good mood. They really go out of their way to make you feel like this is your home. read more
