I want to start by saying this is one of the best apartments Iv stayed in...ever. Originally from LA, moved down to Charlotte and Camden was my home. The staff in the leasing office are the most amazing people. Sarah and Jamie will always take care of you and make sure you are comfortable. They will know you by name and will genuinely care about what's going on with you. During COVID my hours were cut and they worked with me and I'm forever grateful for that. The grounds are kept clean and Maintenance staff are amazing as well. It's a great area and everything is walking distance.The only reason why I moved is because I got a new job and transferred to another Camden property in another state. But if I were to stay in Charlotte I would have definitely renewed my lease. If you are looking for a great place to call home, I would recommend Camden gallery every time. read more

Genuinly a terrible experience living here. From my staff neglecting responsibilities to keep people from breaking into the pool late at night and being loud drunk assholes til 3am (and not punishing them despite having video evidence I'd submitted), to moisture & mold problems that destroyed half my belongings and still being told I'd have to pay a termination fee + 2 months rent (even after they admitted they where at fault), I'd finally had enough to leave. Was ok when I'd moved in staff wise, but has gone steadily down hill since late 2020. Zero emergency assistance when I've called in, a terrible "community website" you have to use to make payments & interact with your online account that refuses to accept external renters insurance, even when submitted to the front desk 6+ times to the point where they're trying to bill me for it on termination. I genuinely have nothing good to say about this place aside from it's location origionally being appealing upon move in, but after living there for a week even you quickly realize that everything in the apartment is literally GLUED together, not even screwed in/nailed in, so they can easily rennovate when people move in/out. Stuff started falling apart, and I could never take a bath due to black gunk coming back up the pipes. Oh, also the entire first floor smells like garbage due to the garbage room shoot constantly being clogged since they lack a dumpster, despite paying for "Vallet garbage" on a monthy basis. Also, there is no compromise if you say don't own a car, and don't want to pay for a parking space. Still gotta pay up. It feels like the stress living here over the past 2 years has caused me will take years off my life, if the mold exposure hasn't already anyway. The thing that finally set me off to get out of there and write this review, was coming back to my apartment after being away for a while taking care of my mother as she was battling cancer, to find that my usual stuffy/moist apartment felt like a swamp and reeked of mold. With mold caking the walls, and having grown into many of my belongings. I managed to salvage some stuff, but over half my closet had to be thrown out, bed+mattress gone, kitchen ware other furniture peices, etc. It clearly wasn't in a livable state, hell I could barely breath in there, and was left with a cough for days after. Naturally, when I tried to call the front desk on the matter, no one responds, so when I finally get ahold of someone in Texas, they inform me that there is absolutely zero chance I can even get anyone in the building to acknowledge the state of my apartment until monday (was Saturday around 4pm at the time), and with no offer of alternative accomidations. So I salvaged what I could, and got out of there asap. The molding issue was later confirmed to be the AC unit locked behind a maintence access only door that happened to blow shit all the time into my apartmetn. As if this wasn't annoying enough that I'd have to clean up the dust it'd blow in, apparently if it's fan was left running to long it's moisture removal system can't empty properly and ends up kicking all that moisture back into the air... Acting like a humidifier, in an apartment with already minimal ventilation. Also, did you know that in the state of NC apartments are not required to inform residents of prior molding issues? I didn't. I do now, and I wouldn't wish this issue on my worst enemy. TLDR: Avoid Camden properties if you don't want to be reduced to a miserable mess from your living situation. Can say I'm finally out of the rental game now, and am significantly happier not having to put up with all this BS. Oh, and for reference, I'd previoustly rented at 3 other locations, so It isn't as though I'm simply an inexperienced renter who has only recently become disillusioned with the industry, but the poor practices and abysmal state of customer service/care at the Camden Gallery stand out as the worst set of living experiences I have had by far. Wasn't able to cover everything in this review, though I hope to prevent at least a few people from falling into the Camden's trap. Find literally anywhere else. read more

I lived in Camden Gallery for 32 months, and the first year and a half was great. The staff was friendly, every time I walked downstairs they knew me by name and my apartment number. Camden Gallery has a great location, a beautiful rooftop view, the customer service was just a bonus. Towards the end of my lease the staffing and the Camden Gallery that I knew had changed. The staff was not as friendly and wouldn't say hello when they passed you in the hallway and the amenities compared to other Charlotte apartments became second tier. Camden installed a new gate into their facility that opened quickly and quietly, but in my experience it was broken more than it was working. The issue with that is when it is broken for weeks at a time, then the gate sits open giving anyone access to the vehicles that the residents pay $35/month to protect. Camden installed Chirp in their system and it gave the ability to unlock all doors with your phone which eliminated the need to carry keys around. It was a great feature when you have cell service. Unfortunately, cell phone service in Camden is rare due to the tall buildings being built around it. This leads to time spent sitting at a door trying to get service to unlock it and constantly dropping cell phone calls within your apartment. Camden Gallery has an amazing location, a beautiful pool and gym, but a noticeable difference in the customer service since the entire staff has turned in the last 6 months. read more

Horrible apartment. DO NOT LIVE HERE. Issues I had: 1. Apartment was filthy when we moved in 2. AC and heat broke constantly and instead of replace it, just patched it over and over. One time they took over one week to fix it in the middle of winter. Water leaked all over the floorboards as well and they had to replace them multiple times. 3. The apartment above us constantly had parties until 3-4 am and the only real response was to call the police. 4. There is a man that stands next to the Camden Road entrance who is constantly smoking and cursed at residents. I let the apartment know but turns out he's a resident so they said nothing they can do. Truly felt unsafe walking into our own "luxury" apartment. For the amount they charge, it's shocking the amount of issues we had. Live here at your own risk read more

I've lived at this location since the beginning of last summer & it has been one of the BEST places I've honestly ever lived. -The location can't be beat for the area, you are literally in the heart of Southend. It's also conveniently located right in the middle of two of the light rail stations to take you uptown/noda. -The apartment has to be one of the best built, as far as quality, newness, sound proof, and appliances you can get. There's always been plenty of parking options and the guest parking policy can't be beat in the area (that was major for me when I was looking because I have people visit from out of town quite often) -The maintenance staff have been some of the quickest I've ever come across. Every time I've ever had a maintenance request, (there's nothing that has ever been majorly wrong, it's usually just been a lightbulb or a window shade or something small) within a day or two these things are fixed. -Last, but not least, is the staff. The people that work in the building have got to be some of the nicest people I have ever come across. Anytime I've ever come to them with a question I'm constantly greeted with an overwhelming sense of being more like family then just a resident. Living here is a 10/10. I would especially like to thank Jamie, the manager, who has been such an amazing help and has always been so personable. If you're looking in the area, don't skip over this one! read more

I've lived in a few apartments, and it's usually a nightmare to find someone to talk to and actually get a situation handled. Today I went to the leasing office and was able to speak to the operations manager, Jamie, immediately. She patiently listened to me explain a frustrating situation (that wasn't even her fault) and took care of it for me immediately. She went above and beyond in this situation, and that's not the kind of customer service you get anymore from apartment complexes. This apartment complex specializes in bait and switch. They get you into the apartment then systematically increase your rent 12% the first year then 26% your second year forcing to either succumb to their greed or move out. To top it off, when you try to discuss it they don't answer the phone, I have sat on hold twice for 45 minutes being told someone would call me by the end of the day- spoiler alert, I have yet to receive a call. There are plenty of other options in south end with better amenities, more responsive service, and people that won't kick you out of your home. read more

After spending weeks searching for an apartment in Charlotte I landed at Camden Gallery. The entire experience was better from the tour to signing the lease to move in day. I moved to Camden Gallery Apartments from another apartment complex in the neighborhood 2 years and 8 months ago. That may not seem like much but I have NEVER lived in a complex this long. Why have I stayed? Sure the apartment and building is beautiful and the location can't be beat. But the Camden Gallery team?! That's the best part. On my first visit I met Katy LeGrand. I got a tour of the building and took a couple days to shop around. Katy followed up with me...but better yet she remembered my wishlist from walking the two units available. And when a better unit came open a few days later, she called me immediately. I came in within hours, toured the new unit and was ecstatic. All my hesitations for the other floor plans and my personal needs were cared for with this new plan. I honestly never want to give up my dream apartment. And I can't thank Katy enough for actually taking the time to get to know me and my rental needs. The best part is after signing the lease, the level of care and service has only gotten better. Katy, Jamie - our super awesome, dog-loving, get things done manager - and the entire leasing office - plus Chuck, Richard, and the rest of the maintenance team: they are fast, attentive, caring, responsive, and just plain old care about your day. I've never had a question or issue go unresolved and I always feel like Camden is home. Plus my dog, Barley, gets a lot of attention from the entire Gallery team. I have lived here almost a year and I love it! I looked at many places in South End up and down the Blue line, and I'm glad I chose Camden Gallery. The staff is so nice and professional in dealing with service requests, lockouts, and other concerns. They are attentive to whats going on even if you don't necessarily let them know--for instance I was out of town for a few days and had some packages arriving. Instead of letting them sit outside my door for a week, they kindly placed them inside my door. Also love that it's within walking distance of great restaurants, breweries and bars--I probably eat a Blaze Pizza a little too much, but I think they are adding smoothie/salad and korean bbq soon. Though most of the time I walk to work (uptown near epicenter), it's always nice to have the option to hop on the light rail without going too far. Overall great place to live! read more

Not only is the staff kind and accommodating but the cleanliness of the common areas adds to the fact that this is the best apartment in south end. Sara helped us find our perfect home and the rest of the leasing office has become family ever since. We will definitely be renewing. My husband and I moved to Charlotte from Pittsburgh a few months ago and were overwhelmed with the wide array of apartment options here. We ended up choosing Camden Galley and we could not be happier without decision. The apartment itself if so clean and nice and has high end finishes. We worried hearing our neighbors would be an issue, but we never hear anyone around us which is nice. The complex has great amenities including an awesome pool area, great gym/yoga room, a welcoming common area. We love how pet friendly it is and love the dog park. The location honestly cannot be beat. It is within walking distance of just about everything you may need including the light rail that goes straight into uptown (it's also just a short 15 minute walk). Beyond the apartment itself the staff is amazing. They have consistently gone above and beyond at every turn. Everyone is very friendly and responsive to our needs. We even get care packages and thank you notes every once in a while from the front office (including a little care package that arrived at our doorstop when we got a new puppy)! We cannot say enough good things about the place, if you are as overwhelmed as we were look no further! read more

I just moved out of this apartment to purchase a home, and was there for a 15-month lease. The location is the best in South End in my opinion! It's walkable to so many restaurants, bars, breweries... Right across the street from the east/west lightrail station... Close proximity to Dillworth, Uptown and South Park. The staff is the most friendly and professional staff that I've ever come across in an apartment complex. Shout out to the assistant manager in particular, Sara, who was always so sweet and helpful! Cons: Expensive (but for a reason). All Camden properties make you pay for cable with the Wifi - I'd rather just pay for Wifi and stream TV. Guest parking is a pain. Your guests either have to get lucky and find street parking, park in the "2-hour" garage spots or park in the few future residence spots during non-office hours. Also, the pool area is pretty small and the building shades it a good bit since it is in the middle. The biggest con for me was that that block of South End has TERRIBLE cell reception, which is not the fault of the apartment, but something to be aware of. The boosters they installed didn't seem to help much. During my time there, the fire alarms went off a few times and we lost power multiple times for HOURS and HOURS. Losing power and having no cell service obviously made me feel like I was living in the stone ages. Again, I don't feel like there was much the apartment could do about the power outages and poor cell reception. Other than that, if the rent is in your price range, I definitely recommend this place. It never felt like a college dorm vibe like many of the South End complexes can feel. read more

Living in Camden Gallery was an amazing experience form start to finish. 1) Leasing Staff: Katy, Caryn, and Jamie are always upbeat and helpful. They are quick to resolve any issues and really made this property feel like home. 2) Amenities: The best. The coffee machine in the clubhouse, the printer and computer in the business center, the lounge chairs in the pool... this place is a comfortable and beautiful place to live. Also, the roof patio is the perfect place to take in the South End and Uptown views. 3) Location: Not too busy that you feel a part of a big city but close enough that you can walk to restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and parks. 4) Apartment: The layout of this studio apartment is better than any available in Charlotte. There is a divider wall between the kitchen and bedroom that gives it a 1 bedroom feel. Maintenance is fixes any issues within hours and all the appliances worked great! read more

This groups gets things done efficiently and effectively. This makes living here so much better than the other apartments in Southend. Any issues that arise they will take care of it. I recently took a tour of these apartments and it was a great experience. Brittany was the one who assisted me. She was very friendly, cheerful, and knowledgeable. She really took the time to show me all of the high points of these apartments and how they could benefit me. She really did her best to sell me on the property and amenities. The property itself looked great. It is well maintained and attractive. The rooftop deck is definitely a great feature. I guess my only gripe isn't particularly with this community, but with a lot of so-called luxury apartments being overpriced. I've toured many apartments in the city and the surrounding areas and I personally just can't justify paying nearly a thousand dollars more for amenities I can get elsewhere for cheaper and not be in the process of purchasing the place. Other than that, for those who are willing to spend the money, I think this is a great choice. I got the impression that it would be an overall great living experience and that the management would do everything they could to be attentive and helpful. read more

My husband and I moved to Camden Gallery two months ago from the Boston area, and we're thrilled to be living here. When I initially contacted Christine last July, I knew right away we were in good hands. She was in touch with me regularly and in September she gave us a tour of this beautiful, brand new building with its vast list of amenities. I cannot say enough about how lovely and welcoming Christine is, as well as Meredith, Katy and Jamie, the leasing office manager. Once we honed in on the Southend, I spent countless hours online researching apartments. Then I scheduled appointments to visit the top contenders on my list. Though we checked out quite a few places in the Southend, the decision to move to Camden Gallery was an easy one. Of course there is the chic, sleek, contemporary decor of this brand new building, with amenities including a state-of-the-art fitness center and an outdoor saltwater swimming pool with an entertainment and barbecue area. The roof-top terrace with sky-line views of Uptown take your breath away. The gated, covered garage with indoor access to the apartment building is terrific. There's ample parking for guests we've also had guests. Our 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment is dreamy. The kitchen is ultra-modern with white quartz countertops, an island (also white quartz), stainless steel appliances, lots of beautiful cabinets and a striking glass backsplash. The open floor plan continues to the living room which has expansive windows and room for entertaining. Just off the living room is a lovely balcony where we enjoy coffee in the morning. Both bedrooms are of ample size with stunning bathrooms and large walk-in closets. The full-sized stackable, in-unit washer and dryer work beautifully. Camden Gallery is located in the heart of the Southend. Just walk out of the building and there are endless dining options, craft breweries, art galleries, and independent shops of all kinds. The Lynx Light Rail transportation system stops just outside our building and can get you to Uptown in no time. It's also a great way to see all that Charlotte has to offer. I moved in about two weeks ago, and my experience so far has been nothing less than perfect. The women in the leasing office and maintenance staff are extremely kind & helpful. The amenities are amazing, the building is beautiful, can't beat the location and views! Even with construction in progress the common areas are spotless! I sometimes forget the other half of the complex is still being built. The units themselves seem to be very well constructed, no shortcuts were taken during the construction process. I haven't heard any neighbors or street noise, which is wonderful. The high ceilings and windows make the units feel much larger. So far even the neighbors are great.
