My doctor wanted me to get a colonscopy procedure done. The Endoscopic procedure is a test that aids in diagnosing colorectal cancer as well as treating the disease. The doctor examining the inside of the body using an instrucment that has a light attached which is inserted directly into the cavity of the body. The procedure allows the doctors to see any polyps or growths inside the colon or rectum. The procedure takes about 15 - 25 minutes but the preparation and recovery takes approximately 2 hours. The building opens at 6:30 which is when various procedures start & closes at 3:30. The offices are very clean, spotless to be exact; the restrooms are secured, you must ask for the key. The receptionist was very nice, patience & helpful as they hand you the forms to be completed prior to your procedure. I found the staff were all very friendly, offered service with a smile & very calming. Dr. Fukunaga was my doctor, he was the best! I would recommend this place when considering having this procedure done...I would also recommend that every adult of the requiring age make this a mandatory procedure that you have done.

Outpatient services, diagnostic, imaging, nuclear studies are mostly handled by the Outpatient Center in the REAR of the hospital at 5215 Torrance Bl (the main entrance address is 4101 Torrance Bl). Confirm before you arrive or you'll likely have a long trek to get to the right location. The salad bar in the café is decent in a pinch, especially if you don't want to leave the property for a meal. Self parking is free, but it's busy and it will often be blocked to incoming traffic because the lots are...full. Patience is necessary. Staff is friendly and helpful, which was welcome when I took a wrong turn out of the elevators. A worker must have noticed the perplexed look on my face and offered to help before I even knew i needed help.

I want to thank Dr. Peter Huynh and his entire team. Yesterday I received my eighth epidural…read moresteroid injection in my lower back over the past six years. The first three injections were at a different hospital. Dr. Huynh has performed the procedure for me two or three times since then. I should have written this review a long time ago, but better late than never. Yesterday's injection was by far the best one I've ever had. The actual procedure took maybe two minutes. I barely felt the numbing needle and barely felt the larger needle. It was over before it even began. For someone who has been through this many times, that level of skill and care means a great deal. The pain I deal with comes from my condition, not from the way the injection was performed. Thank you very much, Dr. Huynh, and thank you to the entire staff. Special thanks to Dr. Millicent (Milli) -- I apologize if I have the spelling wrong and I don't know your last name. I've spoken with Milli every single time I've come in for this procedure over the past four years. We both have corgis, and we always ask each other how our dogs are doing. Milli is always very friendly and kind, and I really appreciate that. The first person I met yesterday was Robert. He got me hooked up to the machine and ready for the procedure. He is Filipino, and my wife is also Filipino, so we bonded right away over the special way Filipino women act when they are upset. We both laughed because we knew exactly what the other was talking about. Dr. Tang (I remember her name because it's like the drink Tang) was also there. I believe she assisted Dr. Huynh or may have performed part of the injection itself. I was lying on my stomach so I couldn't see, but she was professional, kind, and funny. She made me feel very comfortable. Oscar helped push me into the operating room and later into the recovery room. He was really cool and friendly. I remembered his name easily because Oscar was my Spanish name in high school Spanish class. There was a woman named Vun who ran the operating table and took the images of the area being worked on. I didn't speak with her much because I was on my stomach, but I said hello and she seemed very friendly and a valuable part of the team. There was at least one other nurse who helped me move from the regular bed to the operating table. She helped me keep my dignity during that transfer, and I'm sorry I don't remember her name. I have a name in my mind but I don't want to say it in case I'm wrong. In the recovery room, Wendy was great. My birthday is August 16 and hers is August 17. We bonded over that, and I learned she's going to Cancun for her birthday with her boyfriend. I hope you have a wonderful time, Wendy. She gave me juice and crackers, called my wife to pick me up, and was a friendly face that topped off the whole experience. Wendy also wrote down Dr. Peter Huynh's full name for me, which is why I have it correctly. I should have asked her to write down the other names too, but I know she was busy. The final person I met was a nice woman who pushed me out of the hospital in the wheelchair. I have no idea what her name was, but I appreciate you. Thank you very much -- you were very friendly too. Overall, this was an excellent experience from start to finish. Thank you again to Dr. Huynh and the entire team for the care and kindness.

My experience with Infusion For Health-Torrance was terrible!…read more My doctor prescribed 5 Iron Infusions for my anemia. They were precribed to be administered 2 days apart. When I called the office, for some reason, they were resistent to scheduling all 5 of my appointments at once, but I insisted. I wanted to make sure that I didn't have any scheduling issues that might derail my doctor's infusion instructions. They finally conceded and scheduled all of 5 appointments. A couple of days later I received a call asking to reschedule one of my appointments because "they were under-staffed", however, I was unwilling, because I wanted to adhere to my doctor's prescribing instructions. During the first and second visits to the infusion center, I was informed again that they were "under-staffed" and to please be patient, but the nurses that did the actual infusion were friendly and professional. Sadly, that's where the positive experience ends. The day prior to my 4th infusion, I received a call informing me that my appointment had been re-scheduled because my "iron infusion medication didn't get ordered by their Procurement Department in time". I was informed that this not only affected me, but there was another patient that would not receive their iron infusion as scheduled. I specifically scheduled all 5 of my infusions at once to avoid this very problem! I told the Joanna at the office that was unacceptable and asked to speak to the General Manager (Daniel Blanco). Joanna said that he was in meetings all day and would not be available...it felt extremely dismissive. I was completely overwhelmed and stressed-out so I ended up calling the Infusion for Health Customer Service number and kept pushing the issue for the next couple of hours, until they finally reinstated my 4th appointment and said that they were going to receive my medication as a "special delivery". Since when has providing the minimum level of service come to be considered "special"? In my book, that is just fixing their Procurement Department's ordering mistake. The "special order" should have happened before they decided to reschedule my appointment and caused this entire situation. Why should it be so difficult to get the infusion center to do the right thing?! I absolutley hate these types of situations where the customer has to get stressed-out and super-angry just to get the bare minimum level of customer service. To add to the unprofessionalism, I asked both Daniel Blanco and Joanna at the Torrance Location to have Malorie Gayton (Patient Access Manager) call me so that I could discuss my negative experience with her, but it clearly wasn't important enough for her to ever call me back. I will be filing a formal complaint with my insurance carrier to inform them of the terrible service I received. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS INFUSION CENTER!
