She took the time to explain what to expect, offered thoughtful guidance on keeping my mom comfortable, and helped us understand when different interventions might be helpful and when they might not. Huge. Parkinson's seems so complex, and navigating this stage of life with Mom can be overwhelming. Violet's expertise and calm presence immediately put our family at ease. I could literally feel my body relax knowing we had someone so experienced helping guide us through this journey. Having Hospice of the North Coast overseeing my mom's care has given us tremendous confidence and peace of mind. Knowing that Violet and the team are watching over her comfort and helping us make thoughtful, compassionate decisions has been an invaluable gift. We are deeply grateful for her professionalism, wisdom, and genuine kindness.

During these long months, when visitors are few, her kindness, compassion, and cheerful spirit have meant more to us than words can express. Everyone at Hospice of the North Coast has been wonderful, and I truly appreciate the entire team. But I especially wanted to give a heartfelt shout-out to Ann for the joy and comfort she brings to both of us. She is a remarkable caregiver, and we are so grateful to have her in our lives.

I don't write a lot of Yelp reviews, but I really wanted to recognize Kayla Williams at Comfort and…read moreThrive. My mother lives in an assisted living home, and there was some confusion over the paperwork for her brand-new wheelchair. I had spent quite a while on the phone with the head nurse, who assured me they had no paperwork and no proof that the new wheelchair we had purchased for my mother was even on the premises. Instead, I was told they believed she was using an older wheelchair that had been provided by hospice and that it had to be returned to hospice immediately. My heart just sank. I felt frustrated because I honestly felt like what I was saying wasn't being heard. I was being told they had paperwork that showed something completely different, and I started to feel defeated. Not only was I being told I might have to pay for the six months they believed my mother had been using the hospice wheelchair, but I was also being told I would need to purchase a new wheelchair for her. That was a huge financial double whammy, and I was honestly beside myself. When Kayla heard how upset I was, she didn't hesitate. She immediately jumped into action. She was calm, reassuring, and never made me feel like I was on my own. One phone call later, and in less than 20 minutes, the entire situation was resolved. The biggest thing I walked away with wasn't just that the problem got fixed. It was how Kayla made me feel. She made me feel taken care of. She made me feel protected. When you're trying to take care of an elderly parent, that kind of compassion means everything. Thank you, Kayla, for turning one of the most stressful days I've had in a long time into one with a happy ending. Comfort and Thrive is very fortunate to have you. And one last thing...please give this lady a raise. She absolutely deserves it.

My mom had previously been on hospice care with a different company and Comfort and Peace is head and shoulders superior to my previous experience. First of all, the speed of their responses and preparation for her discharge (over the holidays no less) was epic. I am so grateful for not only their responsiveness to us, but also the care and time they took to really get it right! They even helped me with facility placement recommendations Each function has been consistently responsive and communicative, as well. Nurse, social worker, etc. The team has directly contributed to my ability as a caregiver to function and deal with a difficult situation. No hesitation whatsoever giving my highest recommendation here

Hadn't been even 48hours between the time I called them for help with my loved one before I was being raked across the coals for not having enough help by two people who had never met me or my loved one, talked to us, been to our house, investigated our situation, who felt obligated to tell me they had reported me to Adult Protective Services for not having enough help for my mother... yeah, let that catch-22 sink in. Reprehensible, illogical, irresponsible, and lacking in integrity. Not helping in diminishing my stresses but adding to them doesn't seem to track with "hospice" or "care". The only reason for 2 stars is because they sent out incontinence supplies. However they're the kind my Betsy Wetsie doll as a kid would have had a blow out in.

Well after waiting five whole days for Sharp while my dad suffered in the hospital instead of being at home where he was comfortable, I gave up on Sharp and called Elizabeth. They replied immediately, started service immediately and were a HUGE help throughout the whole process. I would recommend them 10/10 to anyone who needs in home hospice care. Even after all the help, advice and support they continue to call and check in long after my father's passing and provide emotional support if needed. They're amazing and I want to thank everyone that works with them for the wonderful job they did at such a hard time in my life.

I could fill 1000 pages with specific praise for this place but let me just cover the best of the best. I will start with "Management"... I will start with the top: The Executive Director, Karen Enciso has that rare blend of business savvy, compassion and emotional intelligence. She runs a very tight ship but does so with grace and poise and it's apparent she cares for all of her residents, families, and staff. Karen is always available and responsive when needed. My mother thinks the world of her and for good reason. The nursing management and staff are kind and competent and always ready to help. These professionals have saved my mother's life on several occasions and I am humbled by how hard they work to keep their elderly residents feeling safe and cared for. The great part about this place is that they also offer a great Memory Care Program. If my mother ever needs that specific service, I am confident that she will be well taken care of. The community is always clean and fresh when I visit my mother and we just enjoy those fresh cookies the receptionist bakes daily. I shopped around and Emeritus at Oceanside offers the best bang for our buck. You can find slightly less expensive places but they are not up to standard in my opinion. You can pay much more and not do any better. I thank God for guiding me to this place, I can now sleep better knowing that my mother is in good hands. I give this place all the stars in the sky. I have worked in Alzheimer's facilities and know the difference between a mediocre facility and a good one... This is honestly the best, most caring one I've been in.
