Steve Kidwell helped us understand what our mother's long term health insurance did and did not cover, which is way more difficult than it might sound. He spent hours on the phone with us and with the insurance company deciphering the mountains of insurance codes and jargon. Dear Steve and the Qualicare team. My experience with Qualicare began last year in 2016. My mother at age 92 had been placed on Hospice. My son mentioned contacting Qualicare as my Mother needed 24 hour care. He knew the owner, Steve Kidwell and had friends that had used Qualicare and were very pleased with their service. Mother always insisted that she remain in her home and never wanted to end up in a care facility. We started in mid January, they sent out the sweetest lady for her daily care. Mom soon enjoyed the extra company and their time together. The night ladies were great with her and gave extra security to prevent falling when she got up at night to use the restroom. Linda Larson, the Qualicare RN worked along side with our Hospice nurse providing excellent care. As time progressed Mom's body was failing her and she became bedridden. Her care givers met all her needs, there in her own bedroom. She had such excellent care that she never developed any bed sores, something that is very common in nursing homes. The morning of June 17th, around 11:00 in the morning, with her pastor my husband and myself by her side mom took her last breath on earth and entered heaven. She died in her own bedroom of her own home just as she wanted. At that time the Qualicare caregiver was there for me with a big hug and called Hospice since I was to emotional to talk. Our experience with Steve, Linda and the entire team provided my mother with the respect and quality of care that she needed in the last few months of her life. Thank you Qualicare for the excellent service you provided for my Mother. Steve Kidwell, thank you for the many phone conversations and the encouragement you gave me while I was trying to convince my mother that I needed help. Last year my 96 year old Grandma came to stay with me for a week. She lives with my parents full time, but as they were going on a vacation, they needed a place for her to be during that time. I was excited to have my grandma in our home and be able to spend that time with her, but also a little nervous about her needs and if I would be able to properly care for her. I was aware of Qualicare and have known several of the staff members (Steve Kidwell and Linda Larson) for some time. I gave Qualicare a call to see if they would be able to help with showering and other specialized needs. They were easy to talk to, coordinate schedules with, accommodating, and informative.
