My gosh, when I tell you we come here WEEKLY, we aren't kidding. Le bf and I typically order about 20, yes 20, carne asada tacos. I've tried multiple dishes: al pastor tacos (not bad), carne asada tacos (can't go wrong), carnitas tacos (delish but does have clumps of pork skin fat which can get a little...meh), tamales (kinda dry, was my least favorite dish), and I've also tried their Chile relleno (again not bad, but have had better). I also always get a small horchata (AGAIN, not bad, a little diluted. I've had better, but not super sweet). They always give us a giant stack of lemons and plenty of hot sauce to last us days! read more

Decided to stop here to check out this grocery store since they have almost a five star rating. The ambiance of the place was like stepping into Mexico. I went to the bakery case right away to check out the goodies. Wanted to ask the cashier how much the baked goodies were but none of them seem to speak English. Then I walk around the premise seeing all the unique products. The store has a food counter that seem to be very popular. You can order to take out or dine in. I went through the line and ordered their street tacos. Two different kind one with beef and another with pork. It happens to be Tuesday that I went in. Tacos with beef were $1.50 each. They were quite good and authentic. Definitely recommend stopping here and giving them a try. read more

I love coming to this place for fresh ingredients. They have a wide variety of meats, bakery items, home goods and more. They always have helpful people. You can tell the people working here are proud of their business and I love that. They have people around most of their counters who can speak Spanish and English so that's very helpful for anybody who doesn't know any Spanish. If you want to make any Spanish or Mexican style dish you need to come here to get the best ingredients for it. read more

This place is always my to go tacos. It is located inside Mexican market. They have varieties of tacos meat, bowl and soup. The food is very authentic. Staff don't speak much English, but they can follow body language. Tacos used to be $1, but now it's $2+, still affordable comparing to other places. I can't wait to go back and try everything else I'm gonna be honest I can't remember what I all got but that spring onion was amazing. There are two locations, but I have been frequenting the location in Olathe, KS! They are located in a grocery store, so you can get your food fix, get a Tropicana ice cream bar, and other grocery goods all in one place! The store also offers meat in bulk and also has bakery goods! I usually go for taco Tuesday where the tacos are $1.50 each! You pick what meat you want, and they get topped with chopped cilantro mixed with onions. Then there's a small bar with sauces and more toppings. The meat and all the toppings are delicious they also offer other dishes and combos such as tamales and tortes with sides of rice and beans. Amazing tacos, good salsa bar and the store portion has a lot of Latin staples I use for cooking. The butchers are helpful too and have good prices. I got an asada, birria and Al pastor taco, all were delicious. Only gripe is that the birria had several little bones in it, would probably get birria as a side but not on a taco next time. This is the sister store to the Minnesota Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, location. Like that store, it's part grocery store, butcher and in house taco / Mexican diner. I'm going to focus on the tacos because that's more of my specialty. You line up cafeteria style and once you're up to the front of the line you tell them whether you're eating in or taking your meal to go. Next you let them know how many tacos you want (or if you're buying one of the featured dishes.) Then you choose your meat and whether you want onions and cilantro. Last, but not least, you pick out your drink. If you're dining in, there's a sauce bar (Beware of the orange sauce. It's flaming hot.) If not, ask the front counter for some sauce to go. The food is exquisite, reasonably priced and surprisingly filling. Like I said above, the tacos are more my specialty, but if you like to cook and you're cooking a specialized Mexican recipe with certain ingredients and / or spices, there's a good chance they're here. Everyone here treats you like family, and chats you up even if they don't know you well. I've had some great soups, tacos, a bunch of things. I have my preference towards the tacos. You know you are eating authentic Mexican food when you are eating at a grocery store and the line for food is 30 people deep. I judge a taqueria on their carnitas and carne asada and this place delivers on both. Don't expect fancy sit down where they start with chips and salsa. I've been hearing great things about this place for a long time and finally gave it a go. IT'S AMAZING!!!!!!!!! $1.49 street tacos and $3.49 Gorditas (real ones, not like a certain chain restaurant with the words bell and taco in its' name) are what I tried... others in my group had flautas. We all loved our meals and there are seemingly endless choices of drinks to select from (mostly canned and bottled).... so you can have a favorite OR better yet try something new!! Before or after your meal, you can browse their store which has all kinds of great things!!!! WE WILL BE GOING BACK!!! Fantastic to go option (especially for their street tacos) to grab some great food, head out on the bike, then setup a picnic. I'm also going to be looking in to having them cater for us.... Wow, what a fantastic market and food destination. I was in for a quick lunch based on friend's recommendations and this was a fantastic experience. I do not speak Spanish what so ever and at first was a bit intimidated listening to others order. The menu is in Spanish and English so that problem was diverted. I had to point at a couple items to order and the ladies working were very accommodating. The food is out of this world delicious. Well seasoned, tender, and a large portion. I ordered the asada and pollo on a plate with beans and rice. Added some onion and cilantro then headed to their salsa bar. A word of caution BEWARE OF THE ORANGE SALSA!!!!!!! HOLY COW, HOT. All of the salsas were delicious. I found out they have an additional store with restaurant closer to home than this location. Love to music, smells, and atmosphere of the store. It was loud, vibrant, and full of life. Thank you too the staff for assisting in getting some items from the grocery, and to the kitchen staff for a great lunch. This was our second trip to this lil gem of a find. I love the baked goods. It reminds me of a little Spanish bakery I used to frequent in California growing up. The selection is large enough I very fresh. The little food service line inside is amazing hands down the best flautas I've had in years. The hot dishes are served cafeteria style to keep the lines rolling through and they need to due to the lunch rush demand. Honestly this trip we asked for chili rellenos and they were sold out same with the tamales. Go early, go hungry as the portions are substantial. Great food for a great price. I get the pastor, Asada, and Barbacoa! All delicious! Each bite are full of amazing tasty flavors. Each taco comes with cilantro and onions. Hands down one of the best Mexican meals I have ever had. Please go here and order the tacos with barbacoa and beans and rice. So much flavor packed into 3 tortillas. The highlight of this place is their salsa bar where you can choose your choice of salsas to put in your meal. I'm not a fan of chunky salsa and I would rather have it be ground up so much that you cannot even tell it has anything but flavor in it. Well Bonito appears to agree with me as their salsas all have so much flavor and they all are of the best consistency. I have recommended this place to so many people and I hope people do the same. Most people are familiar with Menudo, but if you haven't had Birria (lamb soup) you are missing out. When you order it have everything added to the soup (onions, cilantro, hominy) trust me!!
