I have been a founding member of Amped Fitness Murfreesboro since December 2, 2024, before the gym…read moreeven opened its doors in February 2025. My wife and I, along with our neighbors (one a member, one a regular guest), have worked out here together 4-5 days a week since day one. We have been respectful members -- putting weights back after every set, handling equipment carefully, and treating staff and other members with kindness. We have recommended this gym to multiple friends and family who are now paying members, some of whom also pay for personal training services here. On May 14, 2026 at approximately 5:42 PM, our guest was asked for his ID at the front desk by a staff member we had never seen before -- something we had not been asked for in many months, as the regular front desk staff knew us by face. Our guest said nothing, walked to his car, retrieved his driver's license, and placed it on the front desk without a word. The staff member then told him he found this disrespectful and asked him to leave. Our guest, again without saying a word, walked out. We left with him. We returned on May 18 without incident. The same staff member told us to "have a good day" as we left. We assumed the prior incident had been recognized as an overreaction. On May 19, his attitude had completely changed. We were told at check-in that our guest is now permanently banned from the facility. The reason given was the same -- the way he placed his ID on the desk on May 14. He has never raised his voice, never argued, never said an unkind word to anyone at this gym. I later learned the staff member is Michael Manning II, Director of Operations. When I asked him to cancel my membership in response to this ban, he refused to do so on the spot. I am deeply disappointed. We have been loyal, respectful members for over a year and a half. To see a long-standing guest banned over how he placed an ID on a counter, and then to be refused a membership cancellation in person, is not the experience I expected from this gym. I hope corporate leadership reviews the front desk camera footage from May 14 at 5:42 PM and reaches out to address this directly.

Only reason not a 1 star is because the gym itself has a decent atmosphere but the contract they…read moreput you on for their membership is ridiculous. You have to lock in a 2 year contract w them and pay yearly fees up to $60 on top of the $15 a month. After your contract is up, it doesn't automatically void your membership like it should and they continue billing your bank each month without notifying you or anything. They won't let you cancel it over the phone either so you have to drive there and do it in person. I live in Nashville and hardly ever have time to drive all the way to murfreesboro to workout for an hour when it takes me about an hour there and back. Would absolutely recommend to someone who lives close and will go consistently every week to get their money's worth but definitely not otherwise, huge waste of $$$$.

Woman who wants to work out exclusively in a female only area? You got it!!! Been going here for eight months now. Losing weight and getting stronger every single day. They got trainers if you need/want one. Cardio cinema is in point. I'm not blowing smoke or getting paid for this. I legit love this gym. I've gotten three of my friends to join and they're improving themselves as well. It's a healthy gym environment. It's not an Instagram reel gym. It's a gym for people ready to work out and put in actual work.

I let people know about it especially crunch and they just kept running it and running it and running it and I have over $125 of late fees from them that they will not remove because they are independently owned and operated and they just want your money and that's it so I will be looking for a new gym for my son

I am a long-time Crunch Fitness member from the West Hollywood location, currently in town on…read morebusiness, and I have to say this was one of the most unprofessional gym experiences I've ever had. A gym should be a place where members feel welcome and respected. Instead, this location left me dealing with staff who thought it was appropriate to stand around gossiping about guests. Specifically, the Black female employee (with the very obvious, poorly kept wig) and the White male janitor decided their time was better spent making negative comments about paying members instead of doing their jobs. I don't know if this is the kind of "culture" management condones here, but it was beyond ridiculous, childish, and completely unnecessary. I travel often and have been to multiple Crunch gyms across the country, and I have never experienced staff so blatantly unprofessional. When you're in town on business, the last thing you should have to deal with is feeling like you walked into a high school cafeteria instead of a fitness facility. At my home location in West Hollywood, staff go out of their way to create a positive, supportive environment. Here, it seems some employees would rather stand around acting like mean kids than maintain the level of professionalism Crunch claims to represent. Members are paying customers, not targets for staff gossip. If this location wants to maintain any standard of excellence, management needs to address this behavior immediately. And if it isn't corrected, I'll be more than happy to escalate this to Crunch corporate, because this type of behavior drags down the reputation of the entire brand. As someone who travels frequently, I often recommend gyms to colleagues and other business travelers. Unfortunately, I cannot in good faith recommend this location to anyone until the staff learn the basics of respect and professionalism.
