Had a great experience here tonight. I went in to buy their rice water bright cleansing water and ended up spending nearly $100. However, the sales girl gave me two extra items (full size mind you, not sample size) and there was a discount on the rice water products. I walked out happy as a clam. And can't wait to try all my new products. Pictured is their trendy nails basic original nail polish in BK902, round flocked puff, rice water bright rich cleansing oil, rice water bright cleansing water, anti-darkening cushion in N201, mango seed discovery kit (toner/lotion) [this was a free item], 2 in 1 curling mascara in 01, lip care stick in pomegranate, and cushion primer [the other free item]. Definitely will return. Great products and great customer service! :)

Finally, The Face Shop comes to Dallas! I have wanted to purchase their products for a while now but I could only find shady online retailers. Now I can buy all the Mung Bean Cleanser I want without having to wait weeks or worry about counterfeit products. Except... they were out of the Mung Bean Cleanser I wanted! Well, it is a popular item, so that is not a big deal. The friendly woman who works there took my number and promised she would call me when it was back in stock, though. I picked up a few things, anyway. The prices are low enough that it's no big deal to impulse-buy a handful of random stuff. She gave me a few samples and made sure I knew everything about them before I left. Great service, great prices, great quality. I love it!

Store front of The Face Shop. For those of you unfamiliar with the area, it's right next to the Omi!

When it comes to Korean cosmetics, I am an expert. After spending a year abroad in South Korea trying all sorts of makeup brands, I can confidently say that The Face Shop is one of my favorites with some of the best pricing as well as the best quality. When it comes to pricing, of course the prices here in the states will cost more than what they did back in South Korea. However, the prices aren't too marked up. In Korea, one of their nail polishes would only set you back 1,000 won ($1 USD) and when it was on sale, it'd only cost 500 won (50 cents USD). So for $2 per polish, The Face Shop prices aren't too bad. Some of my favorite products from The Face Shop consist of their concealer, nail polish, mango seed moisturizer, animal themed hand creams, strawberry body cream, face masks, waterproof eyeliner, waterproof mascara, facial sunscreen, makeup remover wipes and their perfumes. The Face Shop is famous for their concealer and mango seed products. Although The Face Shop here Dallas doesn't offer all the products The Face Shop has in South Korea, there are quite a few things you can pick up with ease. Their natural BB cream is only $10 and for the price, it has great coverage. The golden rule about Korean beauty products is that you HAVE to try them out. Squirt a little moisturizer on your hands and see if the texture is what you like or dislike. Try out some BB cream on your hand and see if it blends out enough to your liking. A lot of these products aren't reviewed as easily as products from Sephora or Ulta are so try and try again before you purchase! The Face Shop products tended to be very gentle and not cause me to break out in the least. The tricky part about their BB creams is that sometimes they can be too light for us darker American girls. My solution to this was to mix BB cream with moisturizer for a light dewy complexion and then a little bit of pressed powder on top sometimes mixed with a little bronzer to match my skin tone. I definitely recommend the products from The Face Shop and I think it's great that they have a store here in Dallas now. But my only recommendation is to TRY EVERYTHING - make sure you like the product before you purchase it! It's all about trial and error when it comes to Korean beauty products

    My haul.

This is THE place to go to for all things underrated. Forget about popular places like Daiso and…read moreMiniso for the little things or collectible figures. Teso Life is the best place to find a great variety of cute collectibles, beauty products, snacks and more! This is a review long overdue; I've been to Teso many times before, with my first few times way back when it first opened and they had photos of the store thiefs printed and posted on their front door (it always gave me a chuckle, but I think for legality purposes they had to take those photos down RIP). Ironically it was because of those photos that caught my interest to check out Teso, because it was reminiscent of the kind of public shaming behavior I'd see within Asian communities haha. I enjoy treating myself in Teso when I can; they have a huge selection of Chinese Lays, Japanese gummies, childhood favorites like Calbee and Meiji. Huge selection of drinks too, and endless rows of beauty products ranging from hair styling, coloring, mascara, facial masks, etc all packaged in a very aesthetic layout, and you'd know anything you get is going to be good. I've gotten good quality home sandals here too, and enjoy the soft serve ice cream options in their refrigerated areas.

Even though the store was very crowded and busy, it stayed incredibly well-organized. You can tell the staff works hard to keep the shelves stocked and neat. The entire place was spotless and very clean, which made browsing all the unique Japanese products a great experience. The checkout process was smooth. My cashier, Enya, was very friendly and professional. She was a bit on the quiet side, but super efficient and kind while handling my items. If you love Japanese snacks, high-quality beauty products, or just want to explore a cool new shop, this is the place to go. I'll definitely be back to see what else they get in stock!
