I have heard this store has a reputation for rude employees. I should have listened to my neighborhood. I went in for milk and bread, and as I was entering the store they had an end cap of Valentines candy 50% off. I grabbed 2 bags of kit kats and a box of Welchs valentines fruit snacks that were also located on the discount rack. I went to check out and the price she told me was more than I added in my head. I then asked her if she gave me 50% off the valentines candy? She said no the welchs wasn't on sale and asked rudely where I got it? I told her they were on the same rack as all the candy and that there was a bunch of valentines Welch's over on the end cap discounted. She then said I'll take 3.50 off very rudely like I'm trying to steal these fruit snacks. I was walking out returning my cart inside the store and she followed me and then again asked me where I got those Welch's fruit snacks? I pointed to the end cap and she basically was calling me a liar. I did call the manager and he wasn't at all surprised with her behavior. I ended up looking at the receipt and she charged me full price for the Welch's fruit snacks. I guess you win some and lose some. I will never ever go back to this store again. This woman apparently needs to retire or have her working in the backroom, she shouldn't be around the public. read more

I would absolutely not recommend this place, me, a Korean, went to this store with my Chinese friend recently, and while we were just looking at the drinks in the store, this scrawny old white man approached us and said "you guys need to put the drinks down and leave, and dont come back or ill trespass you," and while we were putting our stuff back and were about to exit the establishment, this man was shoving us out the door PHYSICALLY. i assume this worker has been working here for not very long as he seems very unprofessional and rude to the customers, especially of color. read more

If you're looking for a cool local option for groceries, this is not the place. I'd been disappointed with its weird product organization, and their lack of some basics, and the long period between re-stocking things that run out. Those things often occur in such local joints of small towns. And then I was puzzled and disappointed by the low quality of their produce, which you'd think would be superior to large chains, having access as they do to farms within a mile or 2. Still, I wouldn't have written a review on that account. I did notice the managers yelling at employees from across the store, which almost got me here. But finally, the attitude of management toward their customers was the last straw when COVID came around. They were the last store in the area to implement any measures to address potential safety issues with customers, only requiring masks when the state forced them to, and STILL, some employees refuse to use them. I get it. I know that some people feel politically determined not to "conform" to public safety measures, even in extreme times. I wouldn't be surprised if it might even be a marketing choice, thinking that the defiance might attract locals of a more frothing, libertarian sensibility. The manager clearly holds this stance, brashly yapping in the face of customers, caring less of how vulnerable they might be to what she's spewing, or of whether these people might then go home to people whose immune systems could be compromised. I know of 2 people who have died of this disease, and it seems wildly irresponsible to be brandishing your misguided notions of personal freedom at the peril of all those who have contact with all those who go through your check-out line. Just so you can make a political statement. This is the reason this disease is still around, and why our businesses have to remain closed -- petulant people who DGAS about others. Signs posted right in front of the mask-less worker state in bold letters that they are being "forced" to require their employees to enforce public policy in order to avoid having their business license revoked. Not because they care about the health of their patrons. I'm sure that many loyal customers shop at this place just to support her political posturing. I hope they enjoy their moldy onions and rotten avocados. I can't shop at this spot anymore. read more

The short haired blonde older lady needs to check her attitude. She was to busy worrying about whoever she was talking to to provide any type of nice customer service and ask how my day was. When i was nice and asked how hers was she didn't answer and then threw my change in my hand and walked away. There's a Safeway down the road I will be avoiding this place from now on. Safeway is cheaper and has a better selection anyways. read more

They magically pull off the balance of offering reasonably priced staples and a wide variety of specialty ingredients within this small, local grocery store. The produce is always fresh. There are a decent selection of meats, including organic, local, and free-range options. Duvall is lucky to have such a great store right down town. On top of all that, they're open 7am-11pm every day. I've shown up for last minute ingredients for breakfast and for late dinner stuffs after a long day traveling - the service is great every time. read more

I would love to give this store 5 stars. I do love the small town feel, the little things you don't see in big corporate stores, especially love the fact that they carry local produce and local plants. I also love the meat department, it is like going to a real butcher shop and they have taught me things I never knew...plus the meat is better. I probably go there once a week to pick up 4 for $5 plants. I've lived in Duvall for 20 years. I never really thought Farmily Grocer was a place to go (thought prices were higher) until Safeway just got to be too much. The biggest problem is, as others are saying, the checkers hate their jobs. Or so they seem to. (this was before pandemic) A couple of them are wonderful and ask me how I'm doing, how my plants are doing, etc. But there is especially one younger guy that you are just disrupting his day when you go there. The meat department is great and the produce gal is so helpful.....but when you go to the lines...be careful how you smile. How you say how are you. They are not good and they let you know in so many ways. I think it's sad -- if you hate your job, find a different one. Be at least fake happy enough to not make your customers cringe if it is you who is taking care of them. But all in all, I can get past that because it's not every time. The good outweighs the bad. read more

I think it is safe to say that this is where the locals in Duvall shop. The store is small, but has a good variety of items, the staff is friendly ,and best of all it is easy to get in and out if you are on the way home or in a hurry. read more

There was one man checking and another woman gabbing with another employee by the lottery cashier. I went to the young man, who declined to check me out, with nobody in his line. But helped the person behind me. I went to the older woman, who was talking nonstop about a car to her coworker. No hello, no nothing. She said, '" do you want your receipt?" First customer service contact with me, I said, 'yes." Apparently I am supposed to reach and grab my receipt. No thankyou, nada, nothing. What a crock pot of rudeness. I am buying something from your store, say, "Hello, and Thankyou," This was like a twilight zone episode. Creepy AF. I noticed the product I bought tasted funny, I looked at the expiration date/October 2018. Awesome. read more

My wife and I were so excited when that "BIG grocery store" was built and opened at the south end of town. (we can't remember why now).... We were SO wrong - there are just so many things that the "big store" could learn from these "little guys." 1) Fam Grocer STILL actually ASKS whether you want "paper or plastic?" BIG Store has trouble even FINDING a paper bag, and then ONLY IF YOU ask! They never offer - they quit doing that long ago. When the Waste Management trucks come every Friday, we can recycle the brown paper if we want, but there is NO recycling of those cheap and flimsy plastic bags (the ones that often split open on the way from the car to the house.) 2) Fam Grocer has a very nice (polite and to the point) and WELCOME sign on the front door, asking people to PLEASE leave their PETS outside of the store! (BIG Store sometimes seems more like a pet store than a grocery store! - I've overheard many conversations there whereby the pet-owners are more or less bragging about how they can now take their beloved pets anywhere and everywhere they go because they have learned that no one will ask!). Don't misunderstand - we have 3 dogs and love them to pieces, but they stay where they belong - at HOME! (I'd better quit here - I could write a book about this point alone). I like knowing that I can shop at Fam Grocer without finding dog hairs in my cart. 3) We love the superior quality of Fam Grocers meat and produce. If we were to dig for any sort of negative regarding FG, the only thing I can really think of is maybe that they are just a bit more expensive. But that's to be expected I guess, given their smaller size and the "buying power" of a big operation like Big Store. 4) And finally, it's so much easier to learn and know the faces and names of the people that work at FG. And the staff does the same with their customers. 5) So maybe Fam Grocer is a bit more expensive, but it's worth spending a bit more for the advantages. read more

Meat department has great steaks and competitive prices. Very friendly and great customer service.
