(+) plenty of seating, indoor/ covered patio/ outside seating options, family friendly, other activities available (axe throwing, cornhole, playground), food prices not bad (-) not a place for breathtaking views, can get crowded, lots of kids (if you are looking for adult only) Stopped by this place on my way back from a hike in Linden, VA. Huge place with lots of outdoor, patio seating. Some people had tables reserved for bdays. I got an Arnold Palmer (it's in a can) and my friend got a broad run blonde. We got the fried Mac and Cheese ($9), which came with ranch. It was good but not the best fried Mac I've had. It seems like they had plenty of activities (axe throwing and cornhole- seemed to be for an extra fee). Kids seems to enjoy the playground area. It might be nice to have a walking path. Seemed very family friendly, with lots of kids running around- but it didn't seem cramped or crowded due to the sheer amount of space. Would come back.

Loved this place as a hangout on a sunny lazy weekend afternoon. The beers are very good, the staff are friendly, the live music band was excellent. I only had a pretzel so can't judge the food. We will be back for sure with the whole family.

I visited Farm Brewery on a Saturday afternoon. Plenty of space, live music, great service. You go up to the main counter and order everything from there. Nobody comes to your table or anything. They explain the various types of beer and allow you to sample and taste them. They make great recommendations as well. The food menu was quick and easy, basically bar snack food, fries, corn dogs, pickle fries, Buffalo chicken wings. I ate earlier so I onlybhad a corn dog, which was typical. Great place to socialize, hang out with friends. Pet friendly. I saw plenty of sweet dogs on their leashes. People brought their kids too so it has a nice, laid back vibe. Can't wait to go back!

We finally found an afternoon to make our way over since we've heard so many good things about the place. Parking was plentiful despite it being very busy and the lot wasn't too far from everything. There was also a good amount of seating inside the barn and tables just about everywhere else too. Lots of options on tap. We got the Dad Bod, Tangerine IPA, a red/white wine slush, and a Pineapple Prism, our favorites being the Dad Bod and Tangerine IPA but all were solid and refreshing for the hot day. Food options were again, plentiful. Good amount of bar food options inside and right outside there were two more food trucks/tents. We grabbed a hot pretzel inside and an order of crab tots from the Two Smooth Dudes truck. Pretzel was standard, no complaints. Definitely worth checking out their rotating food truck schedule, seems like they've had a lot of good options. Overall, great place to spend a summer afternoon. I definitely want to come back and try their Axe throwing thats in an adjacent barn away from the bar and of course more of their brews.

Food was terrible! Burnt and uncooked chicken strips. Pizza was also burned. Second time trying their food but sadly disappointed AGAIN!

My wife, daughter and I spent Mother's Day afternoon here at the Farm. Located just west of Haymarket, it's easy to get to and has loads of parking. We showed up shortly before our 2pm ax throwing reservation to find lots of people already having a good time. There were kids everywhere especially around the playground area, others tossing a lacrosse ball back and forth or throwing a frisbee and quite a few families were there with their dogs. Kinda like a giant park setting in front of the brew house. We started though at the ax throwing barn. We reserved a "lane" for an hour which was plenty. The barn was not filled up though and several groups walked in without reservations to try it as well. YMMV. It was both frustrating and a lot of fun throwing an ax. Frustrating in that it took numerous throws before getting the sharp end of the ax to hit the wood target but fun once we figured it out. The staff will offer tips and give quick lessons if you ask. There is sturdy metal fencing between the lanes and we felt safe the entire time. Yes you can drink beer while throwing an ax but we thought that was not so wise for us. Once we had our fill of throwing axes, we moved on to the main event here. Drinking beer. They were offering perhaps 8 or so beers on tap including two IPAs (yeah). I had the Farmtastic Pale Ale which I thoroughly enjoyed. My daughter had the Tangerine Pale Ale which she described as my Farmtastic with a tangy finish. My wife got a Beer Pressure Vienna Lager which is apparently made quicker by putting it under pressure. They offer food inside with the beer including snack foods like popcorn and pretzels. This day, however, the Ford Fish Shack food truck was parked outside. We partook of their classic fish and chips. Yum. Despite there being lots of people there, it never felt crowded as there is plenty of space. All in all an enjoyable afternoon.

Fun family friendly spot great for large groups. Perfect indoor and outdoor area with games to play with your kids or friends. Delicious brews and small bites available! Great spot to come and relax.

The food is limited and very mediocre. The ambience? Nonstop music very loud from multiple sources. Even the beer was mediocre.

The parts of the winery I did see were beautiful. The house served as a Civil War hospital, then a home and now winery since 2006. I didn't get a chance to view upstairs or out back because I spent my entire time there in the tasting room. I was told upstairs has some parlours with seating for a more private experience. The outside view is beautiful with multiple tables to sit and enjoy wine and live music on the weekends. Mary, a fellow educator, took excellent care of me when I arrived! She was so warm and friendly and did a great job of explaining all the wines and helping me find wines that fit my preference. I ended up joining their wine club and left with 8 bottles. I also got to meet Flurry one of the staff member's dog. Everyone was so friendly and I'm excited to return with some friends!

You're in for a barrel of fun and an extensive wine education at this stately and immense winery. The wine tasting room is big and comfortable, we had an amazing wine connoisseur, Zach, who taught us so much about the varied wines. He was funny and informative! Loved the quirky corky menu for a festive touch! We loved the Viognier, Virginia's signature grape! The Cabernet Franc Reserve was a casual wine that we were told would be great with pizza and Netflix! The coppery Cabernet Sauvignon was peppery and slightly dry which we liked! The Chardonnay subtle unique; more than oak and buttery, Zach said if you want just oak and butter, rub Land O' Lakes on a tree! Lol! The light Merlot "greets you at the front door" and cherry bombs you! Carmenere almost went extinct; thank you Chile for bringing it back! The wines were superb and we brought several bottles back home! The prices were reasonable and the experience was phenomenal! We thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed every moment at this lively winery and can't wait to return!

We are from Seattle so thrilled for the Seahawks! They simply dominated this whole season and especially last night! Keep up the good work, boys! This place is very nice has lots of overhead tv with a large dance hall and prominent stage for bands to play. Service or lack their of a definite issue especially at checkout, I gave a good tip and I said thank you, the staff did not even acknowledge-we were so happy with our experience- both watching the game and the band-but definitely dampened by the unfriendly staff at checkout. What's with the ´titude? We did not order food. We ate at UJ before coming here. When we arrived-place was full-and then this nice gentleman offered to share the extra chairs in his table which was really kind-it did set the great mood & vibe but not by the staff workers but rather of the good patrons to this place-and yes, drinks my hubby had were pricey $24 each time, he was charged 8 drinks so not sure about that-oh well, it was a fun night-well worth game watching the Seahawks play against SF and seeing the Reflex at the same time! You then go to the Cocktails bay, grab one of the glasses - they had many to choose from, tap your card (where it says "Tap Here" and then pull the lever to get the level of drink you want to get - the screen will show you the number of ounces you got and the total cost up to that point. I love it. I tried 2 cocktails (Beth's Green Hawaii and Sweet Apple Pie) as in getting a taste, but settled on one and both were good - I enjoyed the taste. I would check this spot out again, if in the area (seems like a chill place).

On arrival at the restaurant at 11,30, we were informed that the garden did not open until 1200 noon but, if we wished, we could sit at the bar and have a drink until the garden tables were open. This sounded reasonable as we could choose our meals from the menu whilst having a drink, so we opted for this and moved to the bar. We waited for someone to serve us - and waited! After 20 minutes -and being vert obviously ignored by the waitstaff who were interacting with a couple who had dined at the bar and were leaving - so we left for another venue with the clear impression that our custom was not werlcome. Having been in the hospitality business locally. I find this behavior inexcusable and I hope that this family business will take steps to correct and avoid what has left an impression of deliberate rudeness to their customers.
