One of THE WORST customer service experiences I've had. The woman at the bar had a horrible attitude from beginning until the end. Saw another client complaining about this as well. Same thing for their policy of closing your tab and adding 20% gratuity a second after closing time. I can understand enforcing this policy 5 minutes after closing (maybe?) but the second after? On top of that the girl working there refused to give us a receipt. Just horrible attitude and service. Way too many breweries out there with friendly faces and that will give you at least a 5 minute grace period to close out and gladly tip them what they deserve. Never going back read more

The winery is located in Warrenton. This is way way west of DC (a long way out there). Once I finally arrived to celebrate a friend's birthday. When you enter thru the front doors there is a seating area to the right and the bar area to the left. The inside is nicely appointed with wood floors. You can self seat on the outside terrace. The terrace is covered and has a section for the band. We were set up on the terrace at a table and started a bar tab. We had several choices of beer and wine. I tried the rose and sparkling wines. My other friends tried the beer. There are several food selections to choose from. I would return to try again. We didn't try the food since we brought our own. Check it out. P.S. Came here with a group after hike at Shenandoah. I ordered a pizza, no drinks because I was trying to avoid alcohol. I remember being told Apple Pie Pizza is a great choice, but wanted a healthier option so I ordered something with pepperoni. I am not 100% but I believe this to be the Artisan Pizza. In either case it was like a Supreme, so it came with pepperoni, sausage, anchovies, and bell peppers. Pizza was good and hit the spot. Portion size just enough for one person who had not eaten for 1-3 hours and who had just burned over 1000 calories from a long hike at Shenandoah. TMI? Perhaps. But it's best to be informed to know how big a dish is. I'd say barely enough for 1 person. Any more would be stretching it for sure. Overall, enjoyed company and food here at Death Ridge Brewery. Will likely be back if I am hiking in the area (Shenandoah) again. read more

Beer was good, music was great. Great ambiance with the barn feel and lights. My only beef is the usual one... Too many small children. I prefer breweries and wineries that are 21 and over only. Also it's difficult to tell on their menu what their products are versus the products they sell from other wineries and cideries. But other than that, i recommend them. read more

This place is awesome! They offer a variety of beers and even have wine and cider. It's laid back and a great place to hang out with friends and family. Dogs are allowed. They have solo musicians/small bands regularly. Unfortunately, they close on the early side, but are likely trying to avoid excessive drinking. One of the best breweries I've ever been to! read more

Great brewery to come across! We saw a sign for it on the road and decided to stop by with our 2 dogs. There was live music out back and some other well behaved pups inside. Beer was great and the hot dogs were hot and tasty. Staff was super nice, helped me pick out a new shirt and a pint glass. We will definitely be back with friends! read more

What a wonderful Friday night at Death Ridge Brewery with Marie Snyder Sandy K Ramey Frank Ramey and some new friends Eileen and Sam. Super awesome location nestled in the green rolling hills of Jefersonston, VA. Well appointed, with ample seating both indoors and outside. Covered and uncovered with 3 stages! Good variety of beers on tap, ciders, wines and sours. Establishment prepared foods and BBQ food truck gave nice munchie options. The Ramey's are fast friends with the owners so they made us feel like part of the family. We arrived around 5pm with a couple dozen others, by 7pm the place was pretty hopping. So many options makes it a place for everyone. And Uber puppy friendly - nearly half of the patrons brought their well behaved pups so plenty of petting to go around . Bean joined us too! read more

On our first visit - we visited on a Saturday afternoon during the Summer - on a rare day with the high temp at 72 degrees. There were 3 of us - we decided to taste everything - and so started with the lighter beers - and worked our way through everything through 3 flights each of beers. The ambiance and views of the surrounding landscape are nice, and the brewery building is really nice. We sat outside out back under the roof. It was way too loud inside with a musician playing music. There was also a good seafood food truck on the premises. So we all ate lunch while we were there. As it stands now - none of their beers "wowed me." But I did enjoy their Brass Button IPA. I'd like to try out the beers a few more times - once it cools off. When I saw the name I knew I had to visit. The name isn't as morbid as it sounds; it started as "Delridge Run" (after a local stream, and before that a local family) but became Death Ridge over time. Personally, I think it's way cooler, so the name stuck. The location has lots of indoor and outdoor space. Since I came on a Friday it was mostly empty, but people started streaming in soon enough. The brewery serves what you might call 'bar food'; pizza, nachos and pretzels. I went with the nachos and enjoyed some cheesy goodness. Of course the most important part is the beer. I enjoyed a flight of 4, with my favorite being the Black Powder stout. read more

Great food truck, loved the stout beer, sitting outside - very pleasant outdoor area. I think it was the owner who took our order - very friendly, helpful, welcoming. Some reviewers said the beer was average, but the one I got was very good. Hubby enjoyed his flight also. Wish I remember what the food truck was, that food was OUTSTANDING - some kind of gigantic tacos or something I think. We stopped in after hiking Old Rag, and it was a short distance off the highway (10 minutes or so??) on the way back, well worth the side trip! Perfect stop after that hike - those who've done it know what I mean! : ) read more

my friends and I drove over from Stafford, about an hour away but I'd say worth the drive. Beautiful views and even though it was cold and windy they had a heated patio which we had a bunch a fun on. They have live music and the staff was friendly. Seemed like lots of locals and family's! Good spot for some food and drinks! I had the amber cider and it was delicious. Cool place, a bit sterile inside. Nice selection of beers but when you serve great product in a plastic cup it cheapens the whole experience. We drank about half the beer in our flight and then went off to try some other local venues (Old Trade brewery was better). Death Ridge's apple pie beer was one of the worst I've had, but some of the others were average-to-good. Nice back country brewery with all the modern amenities. The beers are average, most reminiscent of the starter pack brewer recipes. The ciders were nice though the bourbon one lacked the barrel notes that one would expect. The spacious bathrooms were genderless and the sinks were communal, neat open concept. The taproom is large, very barn house industrial style with lots of wood and corrugated metal, but way too loud with the bluegrass band playing. The main clientele inside were mostly senior citizens which almost seemed odd, but based on location I'd guess these were the regulars. The outside covered porches were wonderful on this mild overcast summer day, the view isn't spectacular but it is calming with some rolling hills, lush tree line, and what looks to be a very young Xmas tree farm with an imposing log cabin surveying the area. It looks like they are in the midst of expanding their back porch by more than double and I'd imagine it would be a wonderful way to spend a fall evening drinking a couple beers while watching the kids play with the assortment of toys they have available for kiddos. The brewery only open in January of 2021 (I'm visiting in August 2021) so with such a solid lineup of beers and welcoming venue, this brewery will be one to watch, they have so much potential to get more creative and find their niche. read more

About a year ago we visited this brewery and the girl working behind the bar was un helpful and seemed annoyed we were even there. It was our first time. Fast forward to last night a band we really like was playing so we decided to give them another try, we walk up to the bar and a girl working was so impatient with me trying to figure out what I'd like to taste. My tastings arrived and I truly liked the 2 beers I tried and the ciders. But as for the customer service NO thanks. When you arrive at an establishment and the employees can't bother to say hello how can I help you and seem annoyed by your very existence then that's not a place for us. It's sad too because the place is really nice and super close to our home. They need better staff. Ones that want you to come back. read more

I drove out to Skyline Drive last weekend from DC. I have seen the sign for Death Ridge before but never stopped in. I tried it, and recommend stopping in for a brew. The brew is very good and there is a wide selection. When I was there they had live music, which was great. I had a small plate of multicolor nachos to go with the beer. They too were very good. Off the beaten track, but definitely worth a stop. read more

The beer is varied and tastes lovely! The service is kind and the outdoor vibes are peaceful. I was a bit upset because they close open tabs with 25% gratuity. Which I understand the need. But the place closes at 9pm, then closes tabs with people still outside at 9:10pm and no notification of closing down. The sign about added gratuity is half a letter size off to the side. Management, please change this. At least notify people that they need to close their tab, since they're most likely enjoying their time outside. Thank you! read more

If you prefer a plastic solo cup of wine, maybe four ounces for $7.00, this is your place. Otherwise it's beer (of course! it's a brewery!)...sadly there is no effort for recycling all of the plastic served for every beer. Couldn't be too hard to have a plastic recycling receptacle. read more

Wow beer is okay but the facilities and yes the food truck (Graze to Griddle) was great. The place is hopping and lots of fun, awesome in lots of ways.
