Someone should summon the Health Department - We visited last Saturday - 27 June 2024 - No Air Conditioning; - The place was "Blazing Hot" - I thought I was going to have a Cardiac Arrest; - I don't know why we stayed; - But, we had been "Prancing" around Greensboro - looking for a place for Breakfast/Brunch. I don't know how anyone could have given this place more than 2 Stars - It was "Third World" conditions inside. Service = No Service. Just wasn't there! I don't know if they were having a bad day or the place is just simply a disater. Coffee was G-d awful! Never again! - Avoid!

Atmosphere - sub-par. From the outside, the restaurant is an ugly, square box. It does not look much better in the inside either. I will say that the restaurant smelled and looked clean inside. There is a combination of booths and tables for ample seating. Service - Excellent. Our server was pleasant and attentive and our food was delivered hot and in a very reasonable timeframe. Food - Good, not great. First of all, the menu is huge. If you can not find numerous items that would appeal to you, then you are way too picky. I had a BLT and a cup of chicken noodle soup. The sandwich had the bear minimum amount of bacon, but it tasted good. The soup was tasty and had lots of chicken, but the noodles were like mush. Overall Value - Good. The prices are reasonable and the food decent. Did I love the experience? No. However, I did think that the value was decent

We were looking for some simple fare, and this place fit the bill. First, the restaurant was very clean, which I appreciate. The staff was very friendly. The menu has a nice variety so everyone should be able to find something. I wasn't that hungry and wanted soup, and they showed several different kinds. Sadly, they didn't have the baked potato soup so I had to settle for chicken noodle. The soup arrived nice and hot, which is important. The soup was a hearty bowl with tons of chicken. There was also corn, peas, carrots and Lima beans. The noodles that were there had totally disintegrated as they had been in the soup too long, which was a bit disappointing. Prices were good and food was average.

    A bit of the interior!

But since I wasn't in the mood to drive I decided to go to the Quaker Village location. Oh how I wished I had driven out the Regional Rd location. Since it was shortly after 7:00 pm, I had my choice of several tables. I took my seat and waited for several minutes before a serve brought me a menu and flatware and told me that she thought another server would be taking my order. But she asked what I wanted to drink and got it for me. Since I knew what I was going to order I just sat and waited for the other server to come and take my order. I don't know where he was but the place was not very busy. He finally came after about 5 minutes and took my order. Because they were not busy it was quiet and it appeared that they kept everything cleaned up. The food was good and was delivered while it was still hot. I had also given my server my name for the frequent diner card and he wrote it down. However, when he gave a couple sitting in the next booth to me their bill it had my frequent diner info on there bill instead of there's. It took the manager to correct it. Then when my bill came it didn't have my frequent diner info on it so the server had to go back and correct things. I am assuming that this server is new and needs to be trained better with supervision. But I learned my lesson and will make the additional six mile trip to go to the Regional Rd location in the future.

It was also a chance to catch up with Ron and Victoria who I have not had a chance to see for a while. They recommended Jake's Diner downtown, a couple of blocks down from Victoria's studio. Sounded like a plan to me, so I hopped in my car and headed to meet them down on South Elm Street. I am glad we went because there were not many people in the restaurant at all and by the time we left after lunch we were the only ones. I know they appreciated the business, We were promptly seated and the waitress was very helpful and provided excellent service Ron went with breakfast and had eggs and waffles and bacon and Victoria went with a lunch themed hamburger and onion rings. I decided to go Victoria's route and ordered a a hamburger with blue cheese and an order of fries with a diet Coke. Everything came promptly and was tasty. I must say, considering how expensive things are today, I found their prices to be pretty moderate. Plenty of refills on coffee and diet Coke without even having to ask. I liked that! The food was good, the company was wonderful and it's nice to have a breakfast/lunch spot like that downtown. I hope I caught Jake's Diner at an odd time and a pre storm panic because they certainly deserve patrons and to stay alive in downtown Greensboro. They offered us a nice meal at a good price. I even found parking right around the corner! Check them out!!

This space has a bar area and of course a dining area for couples and groups as well. Once you enter there is a sign that encourages you to seat yourself. It only took a moment for a staff member to greet me at the bar once I selected a seat. I placed an order to-go and enjoyed the Christmas decorations and vibes throughout. I enjoyed sitting at the bar, dangling my feet and taking in the place. I also greeted a few diners enjoying their meals. There were even fire place sounds playing in the background, which put me in the holiday spirit! It was a nice and calm morning. The stools at the bar seemed to give enough space to enjoy a meal without being crowded. From what I could see, they do offer a limited selection of alcoholic beverages. I ordered a breakfast of grits, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and a biscuit. Within a few minutes, I was given my items and set to go. I don't live far and the meal was still warm when I got home and the packaging was organized. They added napkins and plastic silverware in the bag, as well as butter. The grits didn't have any salt or extras so I added my own along with butter and that did the trick. I appreciate the consistency of the grits and the eggs were scrambled nicely. Happy that they had the option for turkey sausage. It was tasty. I'd say this was a quick and budget friendly breakfast choice.

It very laid back, however, I still suggest making a reservation as it came get busy out of nowhere. I've seen it happen. The last time I went I tried the Red Snapper bites which came with rice, Caribbean cabbage and olives. I can't stand olives (its a texture thing) but it wasn't on it at all, it came on the side which I thoroughly appreciated. Everything else was spectacular. I also let Dame make me a drink and I often will say "Bartender's Choice" which means they can create whatever they want based on what flavor profile I like. I'm not sure what the drink was but it was delicious and strong. I only needed 1 that night. The service is always great and it feels like you're catching up with old friends. Although, not pictured, I have tried the shrimp and grits, fried cauliflower, and crab dip with toast points. All are very good. This is one of my favorite spots that feels like my own version of Cheers. If you are in the area, check this place out. Wonderful food, wonderful vibes, and amazing staff.

I'm so glad I did check my bag before I left because they did not give me ranch or plasticware, man I would have missed out on some amazing ranch. The fries were thick cut (probably frozen) and let me tell you, I would just come back for the ranch! They have my favorite restaurant ranch.
