I ordered the steak fajita burrito and got it wet. When they say the burritos are massive, they aren't exaggerating -- I've picked up toddlers that weighed less. The portion size alone is impressive. The steak was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, and everything inside the burrito was packed generously. The red enchilada sauce used for the wet burrito was decent, nothing over the top, but it did the job. The amount of cheese melted on top was generous and would give some of the cheesiest pizzas a run for their money. Chips were exactly what you'd expect, and the salsa was solid and flavorful. I should've added something to give perspective to these burritos, but these are humongous. We all got the medium sized burritos. Next time, I'm getting a slim. None of us finished our portions. We couldn't order online or by phone, so I wasn't sure about having to go in person, stand in line, and wait. The portion sizes are huge so you get bang for your buck. Even the slim ground beef burrito was two meals for me. The meat was seasoned well and all the ingredients tasted very fresh. Only thing that would have made it better is if the cheese and sauce would have been a bit more cooked. It wasn't very hot or bubbly like a lot of other places. The three steak tacos were pretty good. I prefer the steak pieces in my tacos to be a little smaller with a little char, but these were still very flavorful. The green sauce and onions here are 10/10! Best I've had around! read more

I had chicken enchiladas, chips and guacamole. And I can really only recommend the guacamole. The enchiladas WERE warm, even though I didn't eat my carry out for 30 minutes after I picked up. But, I wasn't all that impressed with the flavor, and the chips seemed like they were just Tostito's bagged chips. The guac was pretty good, but, I wouldn't go back just for that. Wow what a little gem. When we walked in we were going to leave because the place is cafeteria style and after a long drive we really just wanted to be served. But, we saw a small bar on the other side of the restaurant seating and figured we would give it a try. We were staying at the Spring Hill suites Marriott that is kiddy corner from the restaurant, so it was walkable back, just incase the margaritas were good-lol. Well let's just say the margaritas were not good, they were fantastic and we were glad we were within walking distance. The food was right on for 10$ I had 2 gigantic chicken enchiladas with red sauce loaded with lettuce, ripe tomatoes and sour cream. The rice and beans were delicious. Do not over look this little gem it will keep us coming back to Holland Michigan just for a good Mexican dinner. read more

I love sizeable portions, and this for the bill, but the flavor department was lacking. I like my steak a little charred or crispy in the burrito, but this one was more of a slow cooked or smothered beef. In addition I feel about 50% if not more of the filling was rice. Let me just say that I rate restaurants based on food. Service is an added star but food is why I go out to eat. This is not a good Mexican restaurant. The Saturday after Thanksgiving were in the mood for some "good Mexican food". As usual we check ratings first, since The Fat Burrito rated about 4.5 we thought great let's go. There's a menu posted overhead of their kitchen area. You stand in line to order just like any other fast food joint, the cash register where you place your order is to the right. You can watch them construct and plate your order. Their portions are very large, their prices are ok, everything looks good. You grab a tray, get your meal, then sit wherever you want. We are impressed with the generous amount of food on our plates. 1 huge wet burritto for him, 1 beef corn tacos, 1 beef flour taco and rice and beans for me. Well, that's were the good ends. Tried this place when they opened the new location on S. Washington for the first time about a month ago. It's in an old Wendy's building and was tastefully repurposed to its current state. The portions are huge, but to be honest it tasted like I was eating cardboard. No flavor whatsoever. It didn't matter how big the portion was, after three bites I had had enough. Fast forward a month, as I have a "two try" rule before I write off any restaurant. I even ordered something different than I had the first time just to see if things were different. I had a wet chicken burrito and my 15yo son had a dry beef burrito. We dined in and the service was great, which is the basis for my two star review. Unfortunately, the food was no better and he and I both left about 90% of our meals un-eaten. This was a major disappointment as I really, really wanted to like this place. We spent almost $30 for two burritos and would likely have had a better experience at the Taco Bell across the street from the $1 menu. :( read more

I went to the new location.. they should have never moved. I used to love the old location and employees were so friendly. The New location they are at now previously was a fancy sit down restaurant where you get served.. so it doesn't seem fitting for fat burrito to be in there.. we walked into a hostess stand and no one was at it because you need to walk around and you walk up to a register and order grab your food and sit down to eat and clean up. The chips with cheese sauce was inedible for me, it had the texture of mucus and a metallic flavor that I just couldn't get past. The chicken ranchero wrap was decent & I liked the green sauce.
