What a great accidental find! My hubs and I had an errand nearby and needed to find lunch after, and unfortunately many spots were closed on Mondays. We found this place and were so glad we did! The sweet woman at the front helped us make delicious picks, and threw in pita and fries, too. I had a deconstructed chicken gyro, and husband had chicken and pork. It was SO. GOOD. The sauces are made in-house and added the perfect flavors. The same woman who took our order and served us gave us baklava for the road. I regret not getting the young ladies name who was working with her male coworker this evening (1/15/26) around 6pm. I walked in and placed a to-go order that had some complications due to what was available and she helped me order the next best thing with what was in stock. It was busy with delivery drivers picking up and the phone ringing often with complex inquires about what was gluten free, dairy free, etc. What impressed me was this young lady handled every customer interaction, every phone in order/inquiry, every DoorDash driver, with kindness and respect while still moving at Mach 10 to help her co-worker get those orders completed and ready to go. I really regret not getting her name as her positive attitude while doing her job stood out to me and when I collected my order I asked if she was management. She said she wasn't. I said she should be. If the management reads Yelp reviews you better keep this employee happy and give her room to grow. Her attitude deserves success. Went to pay for my food that I came in and ordered and they charged me a 10% tip ontop of the tax. What kind of scam is that. A tip is a tip willingly from a customer that is waited on. Fast food at a counter doesnt qualify for a tip percentage. very shady .The food was poorly made by young teenagers too busy texing and kept watching videos on their phone that slapped my gyro together and slapped so much sauce on it that it just fell apart. Checked out The Fat Greek for a quick afternoon bite. The restaurant has a small seating area with 3 booths and few bar stools for independent seating. Plenty of metered street parking in and around.The service was prompt and the food delicious. We ordered the lamb and steak gyro paired with Greek soda. The gyro came with few flavorful fries and the meat was well cooked yet moist. The Greek soda (pink lemonade) was delicious but quite sweet for my liking. We recently got takeout from the Fat Greek in Haverhill, MA- The spot was small, but the girls behind the counter were super friendly. We ordered the grape leaves and fries- both were great. For an entree- ordered a Greek Salad with Chicken Souvlaki. The chicken was very flavorful and seasoned perfectly. The salad itself was super fresh, and the feta that came with was fantastic. I went on a Saturday night and it wasn't busy at all. I ordered a lamb bowl, but instead received a gyro. The lamb was very stiff and the chunks of meat in the gyro were extremely large, almost like they were meant for a dog. I have been wanting to try this place ever since I moved to the area. After a long flight, and an even longer commute back home, I decided to try it out. I ordered the chicken souvlaki with rice, and the Gyros fries with lamb and beef. My partner had the rice and chicken, he said it was okay. Not much flavor. I had the lamb and beef gyros with fries. Let me start with the meat, it was dry/hard/tasteless. I am not sure if it was sitting too long. (I did place the order over the phone, and picked it up within the 20 minutes time). The onions were just cut red onions, I remember having gyros as a child and it was very different. Onions were mixed with oregano and had a slight tangy taste to them, these were just red onions. The fries were okay. But since the star of the show, the meat, was not good...it just made everything else lackluster. I am very disappointed that It's not the experience I was hoping for. It is truly sad that I live in an amazing neighborhood, with very little good places to dine. Service was good at least. read more

I seem to drop in to a black hole when I've eaten here. I've had two good experiences, but the last three have me perplexed. First time I had a problem I was given the wrong food, fortunately I went back quickly. Second time ordered no onion on my gyro. Got home onions on it. The owner actually brought a new one to my home(very kind). Think food allergy. Third time waiting for our food in the restaurant, customer who orders after us got they're food. Went up and mine had been sitting there(and yes I heard every name called but apparently they didn't call mine). Food was cold. I feel for businesses in this post Covid era. I ordered from The Fat Greek today using GrubHub. I got a Greek salad and Gyro meat on rice plus a dessert and a chicken Greek salad for my friend. GrubHub came 20 minutes before the quoted time which was amazing. The food was fantastic. My only (very small) complaint is that I asked for extra sauce and didn't get any but it may be that there was a place I should've ordered it for a fee. Also the picture of the Greek salad looked like it had more feta than it did. I think the amount they provided was fine but I probably would've ordered a side if that is not a bit smaller in the example.The bread that came with one of the items was warm and soft slightly toasted. read more

Good first visit... we'll be back! We wanted to eat-in but weren't fans of the window seating. Then we saw the side room with the cool overhead lighting! It seemed cold but the girl working closed the front door and that helped. He had the pork Gyro and I had the chickens lemon soup! Both really good and it was a large portion of soup. French fries were good and crispy and there were plenty. We had ordered a Greek salad but took it to go as the other items were filling! I would drive an hour just to come back to this location and eat their gyros. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! These gyros are about $12 each and are worth every penny. They're packed with flavorful meat, fries, veggies, and delicious tzatziki sauce. (I would ask for extra tzatziki just to dip it). It's huge in size, and, if I'm being honest, I didn't want to take any for left overs even though I was so full. You're not going to want to put this down when you start. The employees were also really nice and gave helpful suggestions on what we're best sellers and what we preferred. Please address this asap as I want to keep going but had an average at best experience today! The souvlaki was good, but the pita had an awful old oil taste And old oil smell.... The pork gyro was dry and well over cooked. The fries were dehydrated, the salad was good, but the chicken on the salad was different... not for the better. I can't get that old oil taste out of my pallet, and avoided getting the locoomades due to it. The place was out of water too. A local Facebook foodie group raved about this new place so my friend and I tried them on a Friday around 1:30 p. We called in our order en route and was given a 15-20 minute time frame. We arrived and as I walked in to pick up our order, the very friendly young lady said it was being packed. I was the only customer in the shop, workers were all wearing masks and there was a plexiglass shield between me and the young lady. It appears to be very safe and clean but my time there was very short so I did not really "inspect" the facility. We opted to eat in the car. I ordered the fat Greek (a combination of lamb, chicken and beef) with the fat sauce on the side as I was unsure exactly what that was. It was good but spicy so I only used a small amount as the gyro was tasty as it was. My friend had the lamb and beef gyro and she is difficult to please. She loved it. We shared the hand cut fries which were hot, crunchy and plentiful. We couldn't be more pleased with our first experience and will be back...and tell our friends of course! Husband and I came here and we were not disappointed! He got the Fat Greek gyro and I got the lamb/beef gyro. Both were delicious, excellent seasoned and with generous portions. The spice mix that was sprinkled on the fries at the end gave it a little extra special something. They also offer Greek sodas which were delicious and nicely complimented our meals. Decor was beautiful, staff were masked appropriately, patrons were respectful of spacing, sanitizer was offered at the door. When we went, it was a soft opening, and staff did a great job.
