Today I went to Orzo for the 2nd time with my dad and sister. I want to thank the waitress Nina for really doing her best - she gave us 100% effort and I think she was the only waitress so I felt bad. However, today's lunch was really mediocre. The food was honestly gross, it took them a while for anyone to come to our table after being seated, and it was clear the staff were struggling with the number of tables they had. I ordered raviolis, and I was disappointed by how watery the sauce was, and that I only got 5 raviolis on my plate! My sister got the bolognese and it just tasted off and very chewy. Luckily they were willing to take her dish off the bill, which we appreciated. I don't think I'll be returning unfortunately. read more

These guys serve up delicious, perfectly prepared, real food, including properly cooked vegetables and excellent flavors. We got the lunch chicken francaise which came with a choice of mashed potatoes or pasta and a full (good sized) serving of perfectly cooked mixed vegetables. I am always amazed when the vegetables on a dish are presented as more than an afterthought. The special soup and sandwich lunch was an Italian wedding soup and ham sandwich - both simple and healthy real foods. There was also bread with olive oil containing whole cloves of garlic. In an era where a lot of restaurants seem to be serving just different combinations of 3000 calorie monstrosities overloaded in tomato sauce and cheese, these offerings were a breath of fresh air and (relatively) clean arteries. Service was excellent and the atmosphere comfortable with a clean look. The place is in next to Butcher Boy and Perfectos so you get the easy strip mall type parking yet still an upscale feel. Absolutely try this place if you want classic food with well balanced flavors and vegetables that are more than just green salad or the token three stalks of asparagus. read more

Best veal Parmesan in recent memory. Two huge pieces, properly breaded and perfectly crispy. Hot, incredible fresh bread. Perfect crème brûlée. The former owner, the charming Paul, took away the leftover bread I was going to take home and replaced it with two hot loaves right out of the oven, all wrapped up. Our server, Nicole, was efficient, friendly, and fast. And the GM, Kevin, is awesome! (He told me to say that. :) ) Will be back on the regular. read more

Not impressed at all. Parking was easy. Beer was cold. Bread was warm and yummy and that's all the good. The place just seemed dirty and old inside. Had arancini appetizer and it had an odd sweet flavor that just didn't belong and not nearly enough sauce. I had chicken picatta meal that was not good. Very little flavor with a watery and flavorless sauce and overcooked pasta and the whole meal just seemed kind of stale. We decided to go there for my daughter's graduation. This was the last one to graduate of all out kids. Wanted it to be special. My daughter opened two gifts there. One was a card with a check and the other gift had money and a bracelet. My daughter put on the bracelet and left the two cards in a bag. I left it at the restaurant. There was a lot of commotion but my fault for leaving it there. I called and the staff said they remember seeing it there after I left. The manager Kevin told me he saw my daughter open her card and saw a 100 dollar bill in it. I didn't even know how much cash she had nor did I know it was a 100 dollar bill. They said with the commotion the bag must of gotten tossed out. What bothers me is we dropped probably close to 600 plus dollars for food and drinks and they offered us nothing. We are not going to do anything to help you Kevin the manager told me that and he said that the owner said the same thing. We will do nothing to help you in this situation. It's not for me. It's for my daughter and thank you Kevin for being so specific about the dollar amount and the for letting me know it was a 100 bill. I hope that money you stole was spent with my daughter in the back of your mind and I and I can not believe the owners would condone this. I will make more people aware through social media. i really want to like this place but never have a great meal and tonite was terrible enough I won't go back. our mussel appetizer I'm not sure and pray they weren't spoiled but they were mushy which means they were either dead before cooking or most likely they were frozen, terrible texture. Flavor was too light in the white wine sautee. I could taste ocean and sea salt. I smelled them didn't seem rotten but im still nervous about getting ill from the two mussels I swallowed before we sent them back. chicken vodka rigatoni was like soup swimming in the sauce and not particularly flavorful. my husband got the carbonara which was loaded with onion slices - not expected. when you pull out the onions it was half the dish. a proper carbonara is not served with onion slices. folks dining with us also said it wasn't Orzos usual good - they even thought it may have been a new chef but we were told he had been there for years. and the chef loudly complained when I sent my mussels back - I hope he ate them to see for himself as no proper chef would serve mussels like that. read more

Brought my wife and kids here the other night and It was great. Our waitress Nina really took care of us and did a phenomenal job. The selection on the menu was great for those ones with picky eaters like I have with my kids! It was high end authentic food that you could really taste all the flavors that are listed. I would highly recommend this restaurant for either a date night or getting friends and family together as it fits perfect for every occasion. Went to Orzo last weekend with a party of 7 for a birthday. The place was packed. Very tight, chairs backed into the table behind us. Not a big deal. Ordered drinks and asked the waitress for water for everyone. Her reply - "I'll try, we're really low on glasses. I thought she was joking but no. (She did eventually get us water.). Next we asked for some bread while we looked over the menu, her response- "I can't give you bread until you place your dinner order" - truth‍. She also rushed us through everything, "are you ready to order?? Etc. the whole dinner felt rushed. Not a bad little place, came here to visit an old friend and was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere. Sat at the bar and met some very friendly clientele. Menu looked pretty big but not overwhelming. Decided to go with the Veal Marsala and wasn't sure what kind of pasta so they recommended the fusilli which was very good. Before my main meal came out I ordered a Tito's lemonade which came in a sort of a snifter glass and also tasted almost like a martini so no complaints from the pour department. I like to taste my alcohol with not too much filler and this definitely did the trick. I was also served nice warm bread which came with oil with which seemed like roasted garlic in it. The flavor in the oil was a nice surprise before I added red pepper flakes and grated Parmesan cheese to it. This was nice to keep my mouth entertained whilst waiting for the main dish since I didn't order any appetizers. Once the pasta came out, the plate was not too hot so I know it had not been sitting under a heat lamp or anything like that. There was a fair amount of sauce and the meat to mushroom to pasta ratio looked pretty good. The veal was nice and tender and easy to cut into. The pasta was nice and soft. The Marsala was nice and balanced, not to tart, not too sweet, just right. I would definitely come back to eat the same meal again but would also like to try some of their other items on their menu. I would definitely recommend trying this place out if you haven't already, it was a pleasant surprise. read more

We have enjoyed Orzo for many years. The service and the bread are always great, the food usually great as well. The red sauce, however, is not consistent. A couple years ago we noticed it had gone from "smooth" to chunky. I absolutely hate chunky. So we didn't go there for at least a year. About 4 months ago and again about 2 months ago we went and the sauce was back to smooth - yay! We went last night and it was back to chunky. Yuk. We asked the waitress and she said it depends on who makes the sauce. What? I guess we'll have to ask who makes the smooth sauce and go on a night that cook is in the kitchen! read more

Where to begin! We were greeted by a lovely gentleman who opened the front door for us! Then was sat by another lovely person- just friendly and attentive. Our waitress Linda was amazing- she made us laugh and gave us honest reviews/ guidance on the menu. We ended up getting the Caesar salad with the homemade dressing ( chefs kiss ) and the eggplant rollatini for appetizers. That was a meal in itself. Eggplant was crispy and flavorful. For our entrees we got the rigatoni bolognese- the pasta was cooked perfectly just a bit Al dente how the real Italians make it! Delish!! And the seas food risotto. Respectfully, I don't understand all the three star reviews. The pasta is made by a fourth generation pasta company. We each had a different type of sauce and all tasted delicious. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Our waitress had several tables throughout the restaurant however she was courteous and polite. Got a take out for 4 people. The tortellini was fantastic. The chicken cacciatore was supposed to be served over penne but it came over fettuccine (no big deal though). The waitress was decent but the cooks simply did not want to work. We asked for extra lemons and the waitress came back with three wedges and said there weren't any more lemons. Naturally, my mom went next door to buy some lemons. When the waitress realized my mother had gone to buy lemons, she informed us that she will see if someone at the bar will cut their lemons because the problem was that the cooks don't want to cut the lemons. WHAT THE ACTUAL F----? We've been going there a couple times a year as they always made my favorite meal the Orzo Special. Went there last Thursday nite, place was pretty dead. Got my favorite, plenty seafood on plate but only 4 fork fulls of pasta, not much at all considering its a pasta dish so asked for a side of pasta which is not something ive ever done but lots of sauce left . We got the bill and very surprised to get charged $9 for a "small" side of pasta. Wont be going back. Meal, after the extra pasta cost was $37 and thats just too much. Our party of 7 had a memorable night due to terrible service. Our waitress, Elizabeth, came over timely and asked "what alcohol drinks do you want". 5 drinks were ordered and delivered about 10 minutes later. A martini and a bottle of Barolo wine (2nd most expensive wine on the list) we're ordered. About 15 minutes later the waitress said "oh yeah, you are waiting for your drink". A martini was delivered and we reminded her that we ordered a bottle of wine. About 20 minutes after that the waitress asked what kind of wine did you want. Despite her telling us that she had 25 years of waitress experience, she did not know how to open the bottle of wine. She broke the cork and 1/2 the cork fell on the floor (more about the cork that is on the floor of the bar to come). About an hour after we were seated the appetizers came out as the waitress came by just before the hour mark and asked us what appetizers do you want as I can't remember and I can't read my writing. The wrong appetizers were delivered but we ate them and did not comment about them being wrong. 20 minutes after the appetizers were finished, the waitress asked me if we had ordered our entrees as she does not recall what she did with our order. We told her that we are still waiting to order because she would not take our order earlier. As you might expect, the wrong food was delivered but we decided it was not worth pointing out. Now, back to the wine cork that was on the bar floor...We stated that we wanted to take the bottle of wine home as we did not finish it. The waitress asked where is the cork and we said that you broke it and 1/2 of the cork is over there on the floor. She laughed and went over and picked the cork up off the floor. The waitress then walked back to our table and acted like she was going to put the dirty cork in our unfinished bottle of wine. At least 4 of us yelled for her not to do that! She said you need a cork and this is your cork - then proceeded to put the cork that was on the floor into the bottle of wine and told us that we could take it home. Entire night of failures - even more than what is listed above. The manager, Amanda, did remove the wine charge but the experience was a nightmare when she heard that why we would not take the wine home. Amanda asked the waitress if what we said was accurate and she agreed and said, 'yeah, what's the problem.' Service like this and the quality of food has gone downhill. read more

We had lunch at Orzo Trattoria last weekend. We were greeted promptly and seated at a table by the front window. Our friendly and attentive Server took our Food and Drink Orders and quickly returned with the drinks, along with fresh bread, breadsticks and a tasty garlic infused olive oil. Mrs. StoneOld ordered Eggplant Parmigiana with Penne Pasta. The Sauce was tasty with chunks of tomato (a welcome addition compared to some of the Merrimack Valley red sauce joints). She did comment that it could have used some more sauce between the layers of Eggplant but, it was a nice dish overall. I had the Chicken Marsala and it was really, really good. Everything the I look for in a Marsala dish. Light, sweet Marsala Wine Sauce that actually tastes like what it is. The Chicken was pounded thin and fork tender. An ample portion of fresh Mushrooms completed the dish. I would have enjoyed the addition of some Prosciutto but that's not a dealbreaker. The Prices were more than reasonable for the quality of the food and service. We'll definitely be back. read more

Excellent dinner tonight! Alexis C. was our server and she was fantastic...smiling every time she came over, bubbly and accurate with our order. She didn't stop back by after delivering our dinner until I was almost finished but had the awareness of that and apologized ...totally forgiveable because she was so pleasant. Hubby and I both had the haddock francaise with steamed spinach as a substitute for pasta ($20 and no up-charge for the substitution ), shared a half portion of the gnocchi ($10) along with a side salad for each ($4). Only criticism about tonight's meal is the complimentary breadsticks were overcooked ...not soft and warm as we've had them before but hard, crunchy and not warm but the bread that accompanied the breadsticks was good. We've had some inconsistencies at this restaurant, but tonight the chef was right on, our server was excellent and our food was delicious so I had to update my prior rating. Just hope they can follow through next time! As a bonus, we've signed up for the Yelp cash back program and Orzo is a participating restaurant! read more

We enjoyed our experience very much at Orzo recently. A miserable Saturday weather wise and the restaurant was quiet which I like. Greeted and seated right away around 6:30. Menu has something for everyone but pasta is a must! Fresh from a local pasta company Deanos. Waitress was helpful and our drinks and food were very good. I highly recommended the lobster ravioli which is served with shrimp in a creamy marinara. For those looking for something lighter you'll find those options on the menu too. My biggest compliment is the friendly and attentive owner/manager, he took the time to check in on customers and support his staff! read more

Had not been here in years. My brother and i were looking for a place to get an early dinner 3:30 on a Saturday & the menu looked good so we gave it a try. So glad we did! We had grilled calamari as an appetizer and it was cooked perfect - so tender. We both got the Scallops kind of Caprese style but with spinach and over pasta, we asked for wheat pasta instead and they were happy to accommodate. The food is delicious! We have eaten here several times and are never disappointed! The veal is excellent as is the salmon and pork chop. The salads are very fresh!
